Chapter Six - "Abigail, be my girlfriend."

Hmm, it was great having lunch with Andrew and his crazy friends. Emily is really fun. She made sure she carried me along in thier conversation throughout and Zee only made a few comments as well as Adrian. Throughout lunch, Adrian was just staring at me with a questioning look in his eyes, he would state for some seconds and scoff or shake his head. His smirk not leaving his lips as he did.

Andrew really annoyed me throughout lunch. When my fries finished, he dumped his own on my plate. I told him I was okay but he patted my hair and said " I'm just looking out for my friend." I almost gave him a knock on his head as he said that. He didn't give me a breathing space. He really disturbed my peace. Talk about wiping my mouth for me unexpectedly or helping me to adjust my collar or pushing strands of hair away from my face.

His actions gained a lot of stares and attention from the other people in the cafeteria. Some girls were glaring daggers at me while some were staring at me with surprised expressions. I overheard someone saying we were dating. Like, dating? Andrew date me? Come on! Get out of your Dreamland girl, it ain't a safe place.

After lunch, we all walked together to the class and as Andrew was about to open the door, someone opened it from inside. It was Agatha. Her gaze went from Andrew who was beside me to Emily and then to me. Her stare lingered on me for a long time before Zee spoke up.

"Excuse me lady, you're blocking us please."

"Um.. "

Agatha snapped her gaze from me and turned to face Andrew.

"I'll.. Andrew I need to...

Before she could finish her statement, Andrew took my hand and pulled me inside the class, pushing Agatha out of the way in the process. With my hand still in his, he took me to my seat and made me sit. I was expecting him to utter one of his annoying sentences and give his cheesy smile but none of that came from him.

He just left me and went to his seat, did I forget say he has a deep frown on his face? This is the first time I'm seeing him frown and believe me when I say it's super scary!

Nothing really happened in class after our encounter with Agatha. The next two periods went on before the bell for long break rang. I had nothing to do so I just stayed in class and continued with my novel. I felt Andrew stand from his seat and walk towards the door. As soon as he exited, Agatha followed suit in a rush. Hmm, I wonder where Andrew is going. I'm pretty sure Agatha is following him to wherever he's going. Oh well, back to my book.

Andrew's POV

Just her presence in the class is making me suffocate. The girl I once loved is now so irritating and annoying to even see. I had to leave the class because I was sure I was gonna blow up soon and scream out everything I didn't say to her a year ago when she broke my heart. I mean, why would she do that anyways? I proved to be the best boyfriend, I provided everything she needed, talk about gifts, talk about the attention and how attached I felt to her

I cared for her, I loved her with everything in me, I was selfish to myself just to make her happy but..but she just turned a blind eye to all that and dug a knife through my heart. The guy she was cheating on me with wasn't even as handsome as me. He doesn't even look like a gentleman. Gosh!

I laid flat on the floor or the basketball court  and sighed. I looked around for anyone who was also on the court but I didn't see anyone. I was about closing my eyes when I felt the footsteps of someone coming close.

I turned to the entrance and who I saw made my blood boil. I stood up as soon as I saw her, ready to walk away but I her voice stopped me.

"Andrew please wait."

I stood there, with my back facing her, without uttering a single word.

"I just... Andrew I...H... How have you been all these while?" Her stupid question aggravated me so much but I decided to keep my cool. I turned to her face with my hands tucked into my pocket.

"How have I been?" I scoffed and ran my hands through my hair.

"Is that all you wanna say? Because you're wasting my time."

"No no no...I I just wanna um...

"You wanna what?"

She rubbed her hands together uneasily and continued to stare at me with those two cute eyes that bewitched me once.

"Andrew I'm sorry."

A throaty chuckle left my lips as she said that, my chuckle upgraded into a very loud laugh of mockery. The echo of my laugh was very loud due to the empty court.

"Sorry?" I asked once my laughed stopped. "Sorry for what exactly if I may ask?"

"I'm sorry for cheating on you and lying to you. I didn't mean to I just ..

"You just felt like isn't it?"

"No Andrew I didn't...

"Oh spare me the bullshit talk! What are you gonna say again? That the devil used you? You wanna lie against the devil? That was all you Agatha. You were heartless enough to forget about everything I did for you and pierce my heart into a million pieces. What did I ever do to you than to love you? Was loving you a crime? Huh Agatha? I saw that guy with you once back then but you lied to me that he was your cousin but then...I just don't understand, did I offend you? Tell me, did I do something wrong to you back then? Agatha tell me and I'll justify myself."

"You didn't do anything Andr...

"Then why? Fucking tell me why!"

I snapped angrily with my voice already raised to the highest volume. I turned my back to face her and ran my hands through my hair. I'm trying to hard to hold back the stupid tears threatening to fall. I will never cry in front or because of her.

"So, why are you telling me you're sorry now?" I asked as I turned back to face her.

"I just want you to forgive...

"And what if I do? You think we'll go back to being a couple?"

"No that's not...

"Listen Agatha, that can never happen. There's a one percent chance of me forgiving you but, we going back to how we used to be is very impossible. I can't even be friends with you."

She sniffed as she kept her head bowed. She raised her teary face up and I looked away. I don't wanna look at her at all.

"Why?" She asked

"What? Do you think I'll run back into your hands? Fuck that shit! I guess that was why you came back ain't it? Thinking I'll be with you again? Well guess what...I have a girlfriend."

Her head snapped to my face as I said that. I smirked when I saw the shock on her face. She had a million questions in her eyes and I'm sure her thoughts are running around like an headless chicken trying to figure out who the girl might be.

"Don't even bother trying to know who she is. Because I won't tell you."

I saw her feet wobble for a second before her legs failed her. She fell on the ground and I almost scoffed. She kept crying, her fist clenched like she was about to punch someone aggressively. She kept her head bowed as she cried in her sitting position.

I walked away from her and proceeded to the door but her voice stopped me for the second time today.

"I'll steal you away." She said

I turned to face her. She was already back on her feet and I didn't fail to notice the determination on her face.

"I'll steal you away from that girl. I'll make you fall in love with me."

"Hmm, we'll see about that."

Without saying another word, I left the court.

Abigail's POV

It's been over 20 minutes that Andrew and Agatha left the class. I don't know why I'm being so impatient. Maybe I should go look for him? Just as I was about to stand, Andrew came into the class with some kind of satisfactory smile plastered on his face. What exactly went on with them?

He went straight to his seat and I turned back to my book. Shortly after, Agatha also came in with a bright smile. Did they get back together? No, I'm sure Andrew isn't that stupid. But what if they did? Does that mean they are back as the number one couples in the class? What exactly is going on?!

"What are you thinking about?" Andrew's voice snapped me out of my thoughts and I blinked rapidly.

"N.. nothing."

"Hmm."

He stood up from his seat and he came to the seat in front of me. He sat down, facing me and I cleared my throat.

"S..that's someone's seat you know?"

"Yeah, I'm just borrowing it so I can talk to my friend."

"Can you stop that?"

"Stop what?"

"Calling me your friend."

"Why? Is it embarrassing?"

"No, that's not it. it's just... Who gets to school early in the morning only to declare himself and a girl friends out of the blue when they both haven't even had a conversation once in thier life?"

"Come on, we've had a conversation before dumdum."

"When exactly?"

"Remember in 10th grade? When it rained after school and you didn't have an umbrella?"

You mean that day I fell in love with you? But wait, he still remembers? I thought he forgot.

"Y..you still remember that?"

"Why? You think I would forgetten? That day was kind of a memorable day for me."

"Really?" I asked, with my eyes gleaming with millions of stars. He smiled and ruffled my hair.

"Really."

I smiled at him, for the first time since we started this um... friendship of a thing. My mind went to that rainy day and I smiled inwardly.

•THE RAINY DAY•

•TWO YEARS AGO•

It was on a Tuesday in the month of March when a very aggressive rain decided to fall after school. Sixteen years old Abby was sitting under a shed, avoiding the rain. She didn't have any idea that rain was gonna fall so she wasn't prepared. She was feeling very cold and sleepy. It was 3pm but it looked like 9pm, due to the dark clouds that covered the sky. She was almost dozing when she felt someone take a seat beside her. She glanced at the person and she gasped when she realized it was Andrew Heather, the super handsome boy in her class.

She tried her best not to glance at him again after that one time. In no time, Abigail started to shiver. She was rubbing her palms together but that didn't stop the cold. Andrew Heather noticed that the little girl beside him was shivering due to the cold.

Andrew wondered if this girl didn't see the news yesterday about today's weather. He shook his head and turned away form the shivering girl. The girl sneezed and Andrew sighed. He took off his pullover that has been keeping him warm all this while. He stretched it to the girl but the girl was too cold to even stretch her hand. He sighed before helping her wear the pullover. Andrew was bigger than the girl in size so the pullover looked really big on her.

"Watch the weather broadcast next time." Andrew said to the girl.

In no time, the girl began to feel warm in his super comfy pullover.

Abigail glanced at Andrew and she couldn't help but wonder if he was cold at all because he was just staring at nothing in front of him. He wasn't shivering or anything.

Abigail was about to say a thank you before the boy rose up and opened his umbrella. Oh, so he has an umbrella, Abby said in her thoughts. She noticed the rain has reduced so she guessed he was about to begin the journey to his home.

Without taking a glance at the girl, Andrew walked away. Abigail stared at his back as he walked further, she didn't get to say thank you. She stood up from the bench she was sitting on and proceeded to go home but ran back to the shelter as soon as the rain hit her head.

She can't walk in this rain without an umbrella. She flopped on the bench and sighed. No doubt she will be here for a long time. She laid on the bench and used her arm as a pillow. She was really sleepy.

Sleep was about to take her far away when she felt a tap on her side. Her eyelids flustered open slowly and she almost screamed when she saw the face of the person that tapped her.

"Aren't you going home?" The guy asked and she nodded her head.

"The rain."

Andrew stood up and stretched his hand to her.

"Let's go."

Abigail hesitated for a while but she cleared out all negative thoughts and placed her small hand in his. Andrew intertwined thier fingers and pulled her under his umbrella.

Andrew walked Abigail home that day. He made sure she was already inside before he turned back. Now to begin his long journey home.

•PRESENT DAY•

Abigail's POV

"Ya know, when I first saw you, sitting down there, I thought you were a girl of nothing more than ten years old."

"What? Seriously?"

"Yeah, you looked really small. But when I saw your uniform and name tag, I knew you weren't that young. And then I thought, didn't this girl watch the weather broadcast?"

"I didn't really watch TV back then."

"Tch, what human being won't love TV? Or are you an alien?"

"Yeah I'm an alien." I said sarcastically and he chuckled.

He stared at me for some seconds before he spoke..

"Abigail, be my girlfriend."
