Chapter 11: Foundation Festival 6, Friend or Foe?

The first years were called on stage….. teachers, guests, and parents cheered from the top of their lungs as the group was doing their final preparations before their performance. Even students from other schools came to cheer on their fellow batchmates, and Yarah is the center of attention as usual. It was a big moment, not just for the dance leaders, but for all the first years.

-Backyard -

While the first years are about to perform, a certain someone makes his appearance,

"Ahhh, yes. The heavenly rays of the sun shineth upon us all, it sure is a fine morning, guess I'll sleep behind these bushes behind the school".

-Assembly hall-

The lights shut down, when suddenly the spotlight shined upon Glenn and the other performers.

I was so nervous that I was visibly trembling. Yarah noticed and showed me her bright and lovely smile, as if telling me that we'll be fine.

The performance finally had begun and Yarah kept guiding me throughout the dance. I felt so helpless and thankful that she guided me through all that. The others were also doing well.

The performance ended and a bright smile took over all of our faces. The audience and judges thoroughly enjoyed the performance and swarmed the hall with the sound of applause. We all bowed in joy as we went backstage and went out through the exit.

Glenn approached Yarah, "Yarah, I owe you one, thanks a lot  I don't know how I could ever repay your kindness."

Yarah smiles and suggests that they go on a date this weekend. Glenn felt a nasty aura emanating from Winter as he rejected the offer.

"N-no, I can't do that." Glenn nervously answers.

Yarah pouts, "Aww, why not?"

Yarah and Winter continued to get on each other's necks when Astrio decided to speak, "How about a kiss? A kiss on the cheek would suffice? Wouldn't it?"

Both parties hesitantly nodded and we all agreed to her terms. I kissed her cheek as Winter showed a pissed off smile on her face, and Yarah smiles condescendingly in return.

-Backyard-

Winter finds herself near the vending machine drinking canned iced coffee. She sits and rests for a while. After a few minutes, Winter came across a man with a tall and muscular figure. His presence alone was enough to scare anyone.

This encounter would turn out to be a very dangerous one. The man takes notice of Winter,

"If I'm not mistaken, you're Glenn's girl, right?"

*Gulp* Winter sensed bad intentions from the man and kept silent as the man stood.

The man lifts Winter's chin and takes a good look of her face,

"Well, I can see why Glenn would like you, but isn't it weird that you're not popular?" The man says while looking at her angelic face.

*Winter irritatingly looks at him and slaps his hand*

He was a bit angered and grabbed Winter's hand and pushed her against the wall. Winter tries to resist while angrily looking at him. "Oh, a feisty one. Let's start over, my name's Ramil Yatsu. You're a bit lacking in the bust department, but let me get straight to the point, how's about you leaving Glenn and switching over to my side? I can make you much happier than he can."

Winter spits at his face while still being pinned against the wall. It pisses off Ramil and he tries to force a kiss. Suddenly, the bushes make a sound. And yet another strange man came out of the bushes and Ramil stopped.

"Alright that's enough, as much as I like writing and reading romantic tragedies, it really is an eyesore to see it actually happen in real life. I don't know who this Glenn fellow is, but I assume that he is Ms. Winter's boyfriend. So Sir Ramil, I kindly ask that you step away."

That uniform, it looks like he's from Sato High. That light, lime green colored hair, that X shaped hair pin, and from how talks, there's no mistaking it, this dude's the second year, Jeremy Cane, the so-called "Prodige de la poésie." He's a very well-known high school playwright, he's probably the best.

(He's the writer at their school's drama club and his works are global sensations. His nickname was given in France when an article about him was written there, the nickname meant "Poetry Prodigy". He's well-known even in other countries so if I were to attack him now, I might regret it later.) Ramil thought.

Ramil lets Winter go and decides to walk away, "Alright, I'll play along for now Mr. Prodigy."

Winter thanks the mysterious man that came from the bush.

"You need not thank me mademoiselle, I am but a passing good samaritan.... I must admit though, you do look quite beautiful. Maybe even enough to want you for myself." He said jokingly.

Glenn reaches the scene and sees Winter and the mysterious man. He was told the whole story as he clenched his fist and grits his teeth. He thanked the man and asked for his name.

"My name you say? 'Tis Jeremy Cane, it is a pleasure to meet you both."

Both Glenn and Winter were surprised to hear the famous name. They've seen his works before and quite liked them. After talking for quite a while, Jeremy takes his leave with his parting words being,

"You do not need to worry anymore Ms. Winter. After talking with you both, I have to say that I quite like you two as a couple. Therefore, I shall not interfere with your affairs. However, if Mr. Glenn here ever needs advice, I'm always at the nearby café after school."

Glenn apologizes to Winter for not coming sooner. He buys 2 milkshakes for the two of them. They sat on the warm grass and Glenn asks Winter to continue her sleep on his shoulder. The two stayed there quiet as they heard the festival noises continue to alter the school atmosphere.
