Chapter 12: Foundation Festival 7, The Reveal

She's sleeping on my shoulder! She's sleeping on my shoulder for the second time! Calm down, Glenn, calm down! Don't do weird sh*t. Chill out my very good self.

She really does look fragile when she sleeps, almost like she'll disappear with a touch. I can't believe I almost did that with her. I sure hope she's sleeping well.

I wonder what dreams she's having. Her hair smells really fragrant. She's breathing so heavily like when we were on the rooftop earlier. Now that I think about it, she sleeps quite a lot.

"Glenn..." She calls out my name while asleep. She's dreaming... of me? I give her a light kiss on her forehead.

After all that, I just sat still, waiting for her to wake up. Few hours later, Winter woke up from her short nap, she opened her eyes slowly.

"Glenn? Oh, right. I took a nap here with you."

"Winter, I have something I feel that I have to tell you, will you listen?"

*she nods

"You're probably wondering what my relationship with Ramil is, well, the story goes."

Ramil was a sheltered boy, he would be rarely seen outside his house except if it was for school. I met him when I was in 7th grade, so I was still in middle school.

That day, I accidentally snuck into his house and he saw me and asked me to come into his room. He was in his first year in highschool. We played video games throughout the afternoon.

This started to be a weekly thing since I was the only friend he had, most people in his highschool ignored him, and his dad didn't allow him to go outside so he would often sneak out when he got the chance. His parents also oppress his freedom to make friends.

Both our parents were really strict. If they knew we were hanging out instead of studying, we'd be figuratively dead, or perhaps, literally. We kept our meetings in his room a secret. While I was in his house I noticed that he was called a lot to clean the house as if he was a slave. Because of this, he gained some muscle.

One day outside of school, I saw him at a narrow alley wearing a hood to try and cover his face. He was talking with a bunch of guys. Then they started trading punches.

Turned out he was fighting with a gang of highschool students all alone. I decided to help him and he was surprisingly really good at fighting so we managed to win 13 versus 2(I only managed to beat 2 though). After that, we ran before the cops came and our bond got even stronger and tighter.

We both came home with bruises but managed to hide it from our parents. Since we both came home late our parents were really mad and gave us severe punishments but it was alright, we were still really happy hanging out together.

This also continued since the gangs kept talking about the two of us but none of them ever told the police who we were cause they wouldn't want them to know that they were beaten by someone younger than them.

Arby and I were also friends back then so he knew what I was doing and decided to help us. He and Ramil became close instantly and we became a trio and it looked like we'd be friends forever.

I also introduced Dean and Astrio to Ramil and although they didn't join us with the fighting, they still became friends with Ramil. We sometimes ate at Yatsu BBQ place(which was their family restaurant) without his parents knowing that we were his friends. Everyday was fun.

Until one day, Ramil told us he was in the basketball club and he wanted me to meet the beautiful manager. Arby and I decided to go to the gym to watch the practice sessions and there I saw her. A bright and smiling girl.

Her hair was elegantly white, her eyes were like ocean waves. She was really smart as well. She was also extremely kind and had lots of friends. Her name... was Sylvie.

She and I got along really well because of Ramil and Arby's help. Because of this, I wasn't able to fight gangs with Arby and Ramil anymore. I found joy in being with Sylvie more. But what I didn't know was doing so would cause me to lose a lot. I did not know that I would regret it later on.

Finally, I decided to ask her out. But... on the day I was about to ask her out, Ramil allegedly had done it with her the day before and they already started going out.

I couldn't believe it at first so I asked Ramil to make sure. He said "yes" with a smirk and said it was because I, who was his first friend, wasn't the same after meeting Sylvie. I was infuriated so we beat each other up. Of course he won because he was a better fighter than I.

Arby also got mad so he went after Ramil but was also defeated. That split Ramil from our group. I heard a year ago that Ramil's father was sent to the Nagoya Central Hospital so now he's free to make friends and goes out all he wants.

I also heard Ramil and Sylvie broke up but I don't know about Sylvie's whereabouts.

-Present-

"So there ends the story of a great friendship. "

She was surprised to know that I regularly fought before considering that I am pretty thin.

"So it was because of a fling, huh? She sounds like the opposite of me though. So that's your type." She said with a low almost non-existent voice.

"Huh?"

"Nothing."

She stood up and brushed off the dirt of her skirt because she sat on the ground for quite a while and silently stepped away. Glenn went back to class to get his things since he, Dean, Astrio, and Arby were supposed to hang out and chill at Astrio's place today.

As the four of them were sauntering, Astrio remembers something,

"Oh right, tomorrow's the last day of the foundation festival so there'll be a bonfire at night. It's supposed to tighten friendship but it became a popular event for normies to ask their crush out. Now it's a normie event. So freaking lame." He said with a sigh.

-Astrio's house-

We were playing an FPS on his console and I lost miserably,I was always last place. I sucked at the game and Astrio always won. Arby and Dean were fighting for second place.

"Bow down peasants, you can not defeat thy power!" Astrio kept bragging all night and laughing.
