I woke up to my phone vibrating next to my head. I groggily rubbed my eyes. I looked at my phone and read the caller id. Mr. CEO. Who was that again? Oh right, Devon. Wait Devon! I picked it up immediately. "Hello Inayah. Nice to see you're alive." Devon purred from the other side of the line. I groaned. "Hey Devon." I said as civilized as I could. "I gave you today off. Have fun." Just like that the call was over. Oh right I had a date today. I sat up straighter and looked for Lucian's contact on my phone. {So when will I be seeing you?} I texted. I got up and took my phone with me. I brushed my teeth looking at it, willing it to light up with a text from him when it didn't I gave up and went to make myself some food.
After a hearty breakfast I checked my phone. There were three texts from Lucian. {All day if you want} {Can't wait to see you} {Can I pick you up from now???} I grinned at his texts. He was so adorable. {Fine you can pick me up now} I texted back. I got a response immediately. {Send me your address} I smirked at my phone. He thought I would give him my number just like that. {Meet me at Lincoln Park at 9} I texted. That meant I had to find something to wear. If I was going to to a park I might as well dress to work out.
I went to my closet. It looked like an angry fashionista bear went on a rampage. I grabbed a pair of plum colored yoga pants. And a black sports bra. Lastly I slipped on a white jacket. I grabbed my house keys and my phone and slipped them in my pocket, before running out of the apartment. It's been a while since I went for a run. I immediately regretted not tying my hair up, so I ran back and grabbed a scrunchie. I put my hair in a high pony and locked the door after me. Being that I lived on the north side of Chicago it wouldn't be a far walk.
When I reached the park it was really nice. The weather was really nice. I looked around for Lucian and realized we never agreed on a spot to meet up. Before I could pull out my phone I was engulfed in a large hug. I flipped out immediately. Slamming my head against theirs and slipping out of their grasp. I quickly turned around and kicked the dude in the balls. The fell to the ground holding their member. I carefully inspected the person. Definitely male, black hair, red t-shirt, black jeans. Two very angry amber eyes glared up at me. Oh my god. That was Lucian. "Oh my god. I am so sorry! I didn't know it was you and I panicked! Do you need help?!" I rubbed his back trying to help him through it.
Eventually he sat up and started laughing. "You are amazing. You put a grown man like me on his ass. Devon told me you keep the stats. What are they now?" Lucian asked. I grinned and shook my head. Did Devon tell him everything? "11 boys kicked in the balls, 6 girls knocked out, and 23 kids I fought with." I said. Lucian looked at me in awe. "Be my bodyguard all holy one." He asked. I laughed. "No. I might be good with a gun, but that doesn't mean I'll just guard you." I squealed. Lucian shrugged. "Let's do a contest to see who is fitter. If I lose I have to be your bodyguard." I said. Lucian smiled. "Sure. First endurance. Who can run the longest, go!" Lucian yelled and took off running. I didn't waste my breath calling no fair, I just shifted into a slow trot. I stayed close enough that Lucian wasn't too far away and I could see him. He looked back once. When he looked back I took that as an opportunity and sped up. We were now even, neck in neck. I let him pass me. This was a test of endurance not a race. Lucian would tire himself out if he kept running like this was a race.
After a minute Lucian started falling back. He was huffing and puffing like crazy. My lungs were slightly burning, but I wasn't pushing myself so I still had gas in the tank. After another 5 minutes Lucian stopped. I sped right past him. "Stop!" He panted. I grinned and stopped. "I win!" I screamed. I did a little dance, jumping up and down. "What are you a car?" Lucian asked once he caught his breathe. "It was a test of endurance not a race. So I didn't push myself to be the fastest idiot." I said. I stood on my tippy toes and ruffled his hair. He stared at me. "I let you win you know." He growled. "Says the man who was breathing as hard as a hippo." I said, rolling my eyes. He glared at me. "Push ups." He spat. I shrugged. I was sure to lose this one. I mean his biceps were wider than my hand.
I got in position and started dealing out push ups. After about 30 my arms started screaming at me. I let myself fall to the ground. "How many?" I asked. "36. Not bad. My turn." He got into a plank and put an arm behind is back. Showoff. He started dealing push ups like it was no man's business. I watched the way is arms flexed and how fast he was. He looked tasty. I shook my head. Boss's cousin. After 40 I gave up counting he was just too good. Eventually he stopped and stared at me. "How many?" He asked. "I gave up at 40." I admitted. He grinned.
"Could any of your ex boyfriends do that?" He asked. I blushed and shook my head. "Can I be your boyfriend?" Lucian asked. "Not yet. You have to go out with me first." I squealed. Lucian groaned and covered his face.
