"I'd like to welcome everyone who has decided to show up. First I'd like to announce the rules that will apply, after hearing the rules you may decide if you still wish to fight or not." Rosia said into the Microphone, I asked her to be the main announcer since the anger I had was still overwhelming.
"There will be no use of weapons, magical abilities counts as weapons, if you have to resort to magical abilities they will be your weakest ability since some of our contenders have only strength. Each fight will last one minute in an attempt to get through everyone as quickly as we can. Once the fight has started, you may fight until one admits defeat or until you knock them out of the colloseum. Everyone will be starting at the bottom and this whole process will continue in a tournament style. If both parties remain after one minute it will be up to the God Zeus to decide who continues into the next round. I wish you all the best of luck!" The crowd roared after she finished speaking. Not as many vampires came as I thought they would. Some nymphs and even wolves came. A few witches came as well but it was all mostly vampires.
"Anyone who will be fighting today, please step into the designated fighting area!" She called again. I walked through the crowd and out into the sunlight, saw their was no empty seat. Some were even filled with two or three different kinds of creatures.
"Everyone has a number assigned to them before the rules were explained, I'll be calling the fighters by number!" I looked at the paper and saw my number was eighty-seven.
"Numbers ninety-four and six will be the first to fight!"
-
"Numbers Eighty-seven and forty-two will fight next." I stood up and tucked the paper into my pocket. I walked past the whispers until I was in the middle of the colosseum.
"In, three.. two.. fight!" I looked up and saw I was fighting a nymph. She was shaking from fear.
"I'm really sorry." I closed my eyes and bolted to her, not giving her a chance to react. She flew into the air upon impact. I jumped into the air and saw the damage I had caused. I grabbed onto her as we began descending. Her chest was completely caved in. Blood was pouring from her mouth and nose. As soon as we landed I placed my hand on her chest healing her from what I had done. She was unconscious but still alive.
"I think I win!" I yelled up to Rosia and Zeus.
"That was crazy! It's only been three seconds!"
"Since number forty-two is unable to fight any longer, number eighty-seven wins!" I gritted my teeth as I carried the nymph back to the entrance leaving her with the healing witches.
"Now, number one-sixty-five and number two-twelve will fight next!" I looked up to see Helios walking out. I walked past the crowd of fighters and watched as he waited for Rosia to call out. I was curious how he'd fight since magical abilities weren't allowed.
"Two.. Fight!" The vampire charged towards Helios. Even as his opponent was coming to him at full speed Helios didn't move a muscle. He looked up to the sky and sighed as the vampire council member tried to land a punch on Helios.
"How long will this take?" Helios stretched as the council members hand started burning.
"Is that a magical ability?!" Someone screamed from behind me.
"I'm Helios, god of the sun. It's not a magical ability. Anyone who touches me without being blessed first will burn to ashe upon impact. I have no control over it." He smirked looking up to Zeus.
"Will the judge allow that?" Whispers filled every space in the colosseum as the council member screamed in pain as the burn continued to deepen.
"Dammit Helios." I rolled my eyes and walked out healing the burn before he caught fire.
"The judge will allow! Fighters be warned when fighting Helios, and with that number one-sixty-five wins!"
-
"Out of two hundred fighters! We are left with only ten more fighters! Most gave up as soon as they walked out but I do believe it's been a good show don't you all?" Cheers roared in the crowd. I looked at my hands and saw the dried blood and blisters forming. I was hoping my anger would calm but it's only rose since stepping in here.
"Now numbers Eighty-seven and three will begin fighting!" I shook my thought and walked out. I saw Ian from the council was my opponent.
"Ian?"
"Hello Renae. I'm sorry we had to meet again like this." He smirked removing his shirt.
"Just because you're stronger then some nymphs and witches doesn't mean you'll be able to beat me." I rolled my eyes at his cocky attitude.
"I don't care if I win. I just want to understand how strong you are."
"Fight!" I barely heard Rosia call after Ian finished speaking. Faster then I've ever seen he was gone. I oucldn't even look before I felt his fist in the center of my back.
"Really? In the back?" I moaned as I was forced to take a step forward.
"Th-that was my full strength! How are you at least not on your knees?" He jumped back as I turned around.
"If you think I'll take it easy on you now. Forget it. I've been in a very pissed off mood since yesterday and all these weak fights are only making it worse." I took a deep breath before he disappeared again. Listening to the air around me and ignoring the cheers I heard his fist coming to my cheek. I reached my hand up grabbing his hand and throwing him to the ground as hard as I could. My anger was burning and only worse after he punched my back. After the smoke cleared I saw the impact I caused, I created a whole with Ian laying at the bottom.
"Th-that... was awesome.." He winced as he spoke quietly. The crowd roared louder then they had done the entire tournament. I jumped into the hole and healed him. I could feel his bones cracking back into place. He was awake but he was still in pain.
"If anyone is ruling this place, I'm happy to serve you." He smirked at me as he attempted to stand up. I helped him to his feet.
"We still have forty seconds."
"Mind tossing me to the healing witches." He winked. I laughed as I handed him off to another vampire who carried him out.
"And the winner is number eighty-seven! This is only getting better and better!" I rolled my eyes sitting against the wall. I hated fighting. I only ever fought to survive or defend. It made my blood boil knowing I was fighting for power.
"Excuse me?" I looked up and saw the nymph from my first fight.
"Oh, hi. Are you alright?"
"I am now thanks to you. I'm really grateful you healed me." She smiled brightly.
"I was the reason you needed to be healed."
"True but if I didn't fight you then I would've had to suffer at the hands of everyone else. I'm not saying I'm weak but being an air nymph isn't very tough."
"Oh, so can you really suck the air out of your opponents lungs?"
"I can but magical abilities weren't allowed and I don't have any other abilities."
"C-can I see how you do it?" Nymphs always intrigued me, especially air nymphs.
"Uh.. you want me to suck the air out of your lungs?"
"It's an odd request but yes. I feel like it wasn't a fair fight so I'd feel better if you could do it and plus I'm really interested in how you do it."
"A-alright.. just so you know you're not going to feel okay after. Are you ready?" I nodded my head in excitement. I didn't want to punish myself but I do want to see her powers.
She started spinning her hands together, creating a tornado in her hands. She lifted her hands to her lips causing her to inhale. As she inhaled it was like I was exhaling, the longer she inhaled the longer I exhaled. I started choking on the exhale feeling my head become dizzy. My chest sunken in from lack of air I dropped to my knees. Finally after almost passing out I was able to take a deep breath in just as she exhaled.
"Are you okay?" She helped me stand to my feet.
"Are you kidding? That was amazing!" I coughed catching my breathe.
"Thank you?" She laughed.
"Do you control the lack of air by taking it in yourself?"
"Yeah, I can also take it by using it to fuel wind storms but we're surrounded by lots of others who don't need to worry about it." She scratched the back of her head.
"I'm really happy you showed me. I'd like to be able to hang out after all of this. I really love air nymphs, you guys are so kind."
"Not all of us are kind.. that's why I'm here, my father forced me to come here and fight for a chance at ruling Empurity."
"I'm sorry to hear that. At least you don't have to worry about that now right?"
"Kind of. He's going to be angry that I lost. Least he can't be angry at me for not fighting." She smirked.
"Number one-sixty-five and two-hundred!"
"Oh, that's Helios. Excuse me." I gave her a quick hug before running to see who Helios would be fighting.
"I never thought I'd be fighting a witch." Helios smirked.
"I never imagined I'd have the opprotunity to fight a god. I think the odds are in your favor." She smirked planting her feet in the ground.
"Fight!"
The two stood completely still. Helios was watching her just like he had with all of his opponents. The witch was studying him as well, but her feet being pushed into the ground worried me. In a flash she moved. Almost fast as a vampire. Then Helios was surrounded by plants, all holding onto parts of him. I jumped up to Rosia and Zeus.
"Who is she?"
"She's a witch who mainly works with fire. She struggles with nature elements so she had to use that in order to fight." Rosia flipped through some papers.
"How did she move so fast?"
"The plants. The ones she grew propelled her forward when she dug her feet into the ground. She's smart."
"What's her name?" Zeus had a smirk on his face.
"She chose not to give her name. She chose to go by anonymous for the time being."
"What if she wins against Helios?"
"She won't."
"He's not strong or fast enough when it comes to her tactics though."
"Don't worry about him. Worry about yourself when you have to face her. Helios is the god of the sun remember? He knows what he's doing." Zeus smirk only seemed to grow as the fight progressed.
I looked down to see the plants that were wrapped around his ankles and wrists were beginning to burn, soon they caught fire and the fire was quick to burn to the root and in return, burning the witches feet.
"I commend you witch. Not many have been able to catch me off guard like you have." Helios chuckled rubbing the ash off of his skin. He walked towards her and stared at her feet. She stood still even with her burns being fresh keeping her eye on Helios, not saying a word.
"May I?" He held out his hand. She looked at him before she managed to grow another long plant holding her up above him.
