Chapter 2.... Nia and Roy

Nia Brown P.O.V

Being a 20 year old in the dancing industry is not easy work, yet I can finally say I have made it. I am the owner of Come Dance, one of the largest dancing academies in North America. I may have lost my memory as to how I lost both my parents but the one thing that always remained is my passion for dancing. Let me introduce myself, well what I remember about who I was. My name is Nia Brown the only daughter of David Brown the owner of We Care Hospital (WCH). I have black hair like my dad and blue eyes like my mother Mary Brown. My parents were wonderful people and their love for each other was remarkable. I only wish to one day I find a man that will love me just as dad loved mom. I can clearly remember what life was like 8 years ago, in schooling years

Good morning mom and dad I said as I sat at the table for breakfast. My mom as always would make me pancakes with whipped cream on top sprinkled with some chocolate sauce. Oh how I love you mom for this delicious breakfast thank you. You welcome my darling, what time does your exam start tomorrow? I write at 12 but I was thinking of meeting Roy today to see how much of my work I remember. You know him mom how he always likes to make sure that I know all my work so I can achieve the best results. So that one day I can help dad with the business. Dad, you want what is best for me right? You have always encouraged me to follow my heart, you have always been my pillar of strength when I needed help with my math homework. Remember how you would try to find ways for me to understand and solve problems or you would get Roy to help me since he lives next door. Oh Nia you know I always like to tease both you and Roy? You tow have been best friends since you were in dippers Nia you are 12 years old now don’t you think I would know you better than you think you know yourself? Remember all the times you both would have movie nights in the theatre room on a school night? Yes dad I remember, oh well since Roy likes to give me his version of the exam I will have to leave now so I have enough time to write the test and learn my mistakes. Bye love you both I say as I give my parents a hug and kiss.

You see the relationship that I have with my parents is so wonderful that we play all the time and tease each other. Besides I am sure my face is red from embarrassment. My parents know everything about me. I don’t just have one parent that I am close with like normal kids in my school because I am close to both of them. Whenever I feel sad or I am bullied we have a family meeting so I tell my side of the story at the same time instead of one at a time. My dad may be a businessman but since he is the owner he gets to leave and come to me anytime I really need him. Most girls in my school are daddy’s girls, however I am different I am my mom and dad’s girl, I think this is the main reason why girls are mean to me in school. They cannot seem to understand the fact that our fathers are our protectors while our mothers are our shield.

Roy Charles P.O.V

At the age of 23 I have successfully built up my own empire. I am married to the most beautiful and talented dancer I have ever met. Nia may not remember me but I am sure that I will be able to help her recover her memories once I meet her again. I still have to follow Dr Smith’s advice, an advice that is slowly breaking me down from the inside. I still remember his hurtful words

Dr Smith how is Nia? My apologies Mr Charles during the accident Nia hit her head and has suffered a broken leg. The operation was a success but we will only know the extent of her head injuries once she wakes up. Excuse me doctor I am nurse Adams the patient in room 202 is awake and seems to have amnesia I came to this conclusion because of the questions she asked me. Nurse Adams I am her only relative that survived that accident please tell me what types of questions she asked, if you are saying that she lost her memory then we need to know how far back she has gone right Dr Smith? Yes Mr Charles that is correct and since you are her childhood best friend also you will be able to help us understand her past better. Doctor Smith and Mr Charles if you would please follow me? Mr Charles could you please wait outside by the door we do not want to scare her more in case she doesn’t remember you.

5 minutes later

Doctor how is she? Mr Charles I am afraid that nurse Adams assumptions are indeed true, Nia’s memory has gone back to the year 2009. Was there some sort of stress factor that she endured for her to go back to that year? Yes doctor that was the year a few of our school friends with their parents got together to have a holiday overseas but the plane crashed with half of our friends gone missing , I know in my heart that they survived the crash . I see well my advice is give her time to come to terms with the fact that she doesn’t have her memory, give her a month and after that meet her to see if she remembers you. Doctor can I see her for just a moment, I will stand outside. Of course you can I truly am sorry I wish there was more I could do to help her but her memory will come back with time, excuse me I have to go check on the other survivors.

My beautiful wife I love and miss you so much, as I stand outside your hospital room watching you lay on your bed with the machines around you, my heart breaks into a thousand pieces, I wish I could hold you in my arms and tell you everything is going to be fine but I can’t, I was told that you have lost your memory, try to hold back my tears, we just began our life, we can’t end this way, I won’t let it happen
