The ride up was a short one, just as Rishio liked. See, yey was not a fan of small enclosed spaces. When the elevator door opened, Rishio's eyes were blessed with the sight of what yey once called home. Getting off the elevator and into the house, Rishio could not help but be overtaken by the feeling of fondness when yey took in the familiar sight that yey remembered from all this years ago.
Yey was standing at the entrance hall, where yey vividly remebered how Risean would throw a fit if anyone went any further without removing their shoes. One time yey almost threw Alpha Ejana out as the alpha did not quite understand why gur had to remove gur's shoes because "the were still clean". But after almost dying in the hands of gur's omega gur learnt the reason why.
Rishio's eyes filled with tears as a lump of emotions formed in yey'r throat, choking yey'r at the thought of never seeing again. Calming yey'r internal turmoil by taking in a few deep breathes, ye continued on yey’r way inwards.
Entering the living room, yey drew in a large breath of air letting the nostalgic scents overwhelm yey’r senses. The misty woodsy scent of Alpha Ejana dominated the air but yey did not miss the fading lavender scent that lingered in the air, as if to cement the fact that Risean was really gone.
Yey’r footsteps were the only sound that Rishio heard, with still no sign of the alpha yey continued on yey’r tour around the room. The house changed a bit since Rishio was there, the furniture yey left were all replaced by new and more modern furniture as opposed to the antiques that Risean loved to decorate the house with, no doubt to help the family cope with the loss no matter how long ago it was. The carvings and curios were still hung where yey had left them,
“Alpha Ejana would not dare replace those they were gur’s omega’s prized possession” Rishio thought fondly as yey traced yey’r fingers over one of the carvings which was Risean’s favourite.
Turning away from the carvings, Rishio walked towards the window feeling the need to get fresh air because of the emotions piling up inside yey’r. Leaning yey’r upper body against the window sill, yey looked down at the village below yey’r. The sight of omegas going about their business, the young ones were from school and the older ones from their respective jobs. A distance away yey saw the warriors doing their training regime, looking away from the warriors yey could see the beast pens and hoped that Ryok was in there and was doing better than yey was. Looking back down at the bustling people below yey’r, yey noticed just how much the alpha population increased
“One day Rishy, I will open up my village to the world but first I must help them my people understand that involving alphas will do more good than harm. Can you imagine it? Alphas living together with omegas in this village, that will be a sight to see.”
“You know more than anyone alphas cannot be trusted.’” Younger Rishio replied to Risean
“Yes, but most alphas not all, don’t you agree?” Risean asked Rishio while making eye contact with yey’r making yey’r turn away, Rishio never seemed to be able to maintain eye contact with the hazel eyed omega
“I understand you will be doing this for the good of your village, but still do not rush it, humans never react well to change.
“I know.” Risean started,
“I wouldn’t want to be overthrown, now would I?” Risean asked turning to look at the rising sun.
Rishio copied yey’r movement as yey replied, "No Chief, we would not want that at all."
Rishio thought back to the conversation yey had with Risean in the past at the same sill, the only thing that changed was that it was dawn but at that moment it was dusk.
“Kind of poetic don’t you think? I really hope that you seeing this, your plan worked” Rishio said out loud, hoping yey’r friend would hear it.
A tear made its way down yey’r cheek, as a sob choked its way out of yey’r throat at the thought of never seeing yey’r friend again, the weight of yey'r new reality finally landing on yey'r.
“Always the cry baby.” A voice disrupted Rishio, making yey’r quickly turn to see who it belonged to.
Seeing yey’r old Teacher leaning against a doorway which lead to the study, where Rishio guessed gur was from, yey relaxed the sense of danger quickly dispersing.
The alpha was always a sight to see, gur’s height that Rishio knew yey could never compete with at past seven feet, despite gur’s age the alpha had an impressive physique still retaining gur’s youth muscles that only improved as gur got older. The characteristic dreadlocks that all alphas had to get, adorned gur’s head, looking like a lion’s mane, but now greyer than the dark tone gur’s hair was.
“The Silver haired lion, it suits gur.” Rishio thought to yey’rself letting out a soft chuckle earning a raised eyebrow from yey’r Teacher.
“What is wrong with you child? Crying one minute then laughing the next? Come over here and greet your Teach."
Alpha Ejana said mildly amused by the omega’s reaction.
Always the good student, Rishio walked towards the alpha only stopping when yey was before gur. Copying Alpha Layieni’s posture while they were in the Common Room, as a sign of respect and formality
“It has been long Teach.” Rishio said to the alpha disregarding yey’r Teacher’s look of disapproval at the salute yey had just done.
"You damn brat, you know just how much I hate that salute.” Alpha Ejana said while violently jerking the omega toward gur making Rishio land on gur’s chest confused at what was happening. Yey’r confusion was quickly dispersed when the alpha’s arms engulfed yey’r in a hug,
“You damn right it has been too long, don’t ringers exist from where you are from?” The alpha asked still hugging the omega who slowly hugged gur back
“Still not a fan of physical contact.” Alpha Ejana observed to gur’self feeling the awkwardness that coming from the omega in gur’s arms.
“Rishy what are you doing?” Ourine's voice asked from behind Rishio who tried to turn to see the child, relieved that the child had finally arrived, but yey found yey’rself restrained by the alpha who was hugging yey’r,
“What is it to you?” The grown alpha asked the child making Rishio jerk back in surprise at the childishness.
“Leave yey’r alone.” Ourine said, well more of warned the alpha. This made Rishio struggle to get out of the alpha’s embrace so that yey could put an end to what was about to happen,
"No, I will not. What are you going to do now? Child?” Alpha Ejana teased the small alpha, impressed at the murderous aura the small child exuded,
“Now isn’t that interesting.” Alpha Ejana thought to gur ’self.
Flashing out gur’s canines to the child, gur moved towards Rishio’s neck as if with intention to harm yey’r in order to test the child's reaction.
Rishio had no idea what was going on as yey could not turn back to see what was happening with the alpha restraining yey’r, however the warmth that got closer to yey’r neck gave yey’r an idea,
“Fucking alpha’s and their love to show off.” Rishio thought to yey’rself frustrated at bot of the alpha’s actions still squirming in effort to escaped the Alpha's embrace that now seemed more like a prison than a comfort.
Then something happens which both surprised and impressed alpha Ejana, the alpha child before gur was getting ready to attack gur as gur’s wings were stretched out in order to allow the child to propel gur’self forwards towards the alpha.
A smirk made it’s way on the alpha’s face, accepting the child’s challenge.
“Come on then.” Alpha Ejana incited the small alpha making Ourine grit gur’s teeth at the presence of ridicule in the older alpha’s voice.
Anger fueling Ourine's actions, gur flew towards the smug alpha with a mission to knock gur off gur’s feet.
