“You do not look surprised to see me.” Rishio started the conversation not being able to stand the silence between yey’r and Teach that had since after yey came out of yey’r room, showered and refreshed, to now when yey is helping gur prepare dinner by setting the table, alpha Ejana was not a fan of people being in the kitchen the same time gur is in the kitchen, made gur unexplainably angry for some reason.
“Well let us say with the turmoil that is brewing, I was expecting you.” Alpha Ejana answered from the kitchen.
“Do you know what is happening?” Rishio asked while placing the ceramic plates on the table, each facing a chair.
“The information I have is similar to what you know, the angels’ and demons’ activities are becoming more regular that they are becoming sloppy at hiding and not coming to the human realm. Their actions can and will be seen as a threat to the treaty that was made all those eons ago.” Alpha Ejana replied while coming out of the kitchen with a steaming pot of food in gur’s hands that were protected by a thick kitchen towel, and place it on a padded spot on the table.
“The question is why are they not attacking? With the disappearance of “Hope” they have a great chance to defeat humans.” Rishio stated, stepping away from the table to give alpha Ejana enough space to place he food on the table.
“Yes, if that attack it would surely be in their favor, but I have a theory that they are not here for another war.” Alpha Ejana said.
“But which other reason would make them voluntary come into the human realm?” Rishio asked scrunching yey’r face in confusion.
Alpha Ejana straightened from gur’s position and looked directly into Rishio’s eyes a gesture that gur did when gur got serious,
“I believe that they are here for help and you and that child are in the middle of what is or what will happen.” Gur said firmly making Rishio swallow hard at the words that yey wished yey would never hear from yey’r Teacher.
“But that is not a problem for now, we will deal with it once we cannot ignore it any longer.” Alpha Ejana said airily, ending the chilly atmosphere that was created.
“Heh,” Rishio laughed nervously still trying to gain yey’r composure.
“After all these years gur still scares me with that damn look.” Rishio thought to yey’rself shaking off what just happened.
Yey, of course wanted to talk more about the topic but knowing yey’r teacher the subject was dropped and not to be talked about, not now anyway.
“FA!” A shout from outside told Rishio the reason why the alpha dropped the topic so abruptly.
Alpha Sherak flew into the house crashing into the alpha, merely missing the table making the both of them fall down with a heavy thud that made Rishio flinch.
“How many times o I have to tell you, DO NOT FLY IN MY HOUSE!!” Alpha Ejana roared at the younger alpha while placing gur in a chokehold.
“I…I szorry.” Alpha Sherak croaked out. With a sigh Alpha Ejana released gur making alpha Sherak gasp, trying to catch gur’s breathe.
“I just missed you so much, you know you never invite us for food willingly.” Alpha Sherak whined after gaining gur’s composure.
“I wonder why?” Alpha Ejana asked sarcastically while pushing alpha Sherak off gur, making gur let out a yelp of surprise at how gur’s fa did not hold gur’s strength back and almost sent gur flying to the wall.
Turning away from gur’s fa, gur’s eyes met Rishio making them widened in surprise, as if gur had just noticed yey’r presence.
Jumping off the floor and landing a breath away from Rishio, making yey’r recoil away, alpha Sherak gave Rishio a questioning look, trying to remember where they meet.
“OH!” Alpha Sherak exclaimed, brightening up ‘” You are the omega I met earlier.” Gur realized.
“Yes? And I placed my beast in your care, where is he?” Rishio asked the alpha, mildly alarmed that the alpha might have forgotten about Ryok.
“Ah! Ryok right? He is the community beasts’ pen. If I had known you were coming here, I would have brought him.” Alpha Sherak replied. “No worries I will bring him tomorrow morning.” Gur assured Rishio.
“Uhm, okay thank you.” Rishio replied not knowing how else to reply to the excited alpha.
“Where is Laye?” Alpha Ejana asked from the kitchen.
“I think gur has gone to take a bath.” Alpha Sherak replied.
“As you should if you want to eat.” Alpha Ejana said.
Rolling gur’s eyes at gur’s Fa’s words, alpha Sherak wordlessly mimicked gur’s words while crossing gur’s eyes making Rishio let out a short laugh. Alpha Sherak turned and smirked at Rishio, happy to see the cold face omega was capable of taking a joke.
“Oh, do you think you are grown now?” Alpha Ejana rumbled from the kitchen making Sherak scamper away towards what seemed like gur’s room.
“I have not even said anything!” Alpha Sherak replied from gur’s locked room.
Ourine walked into the dining room, gur’s hair still damp which gur was trying to dry but seemed to be failing miserably.
“Come here I will do it for you.” Rishio said to the child who seemed to give up with gur’s hair.
Lighting up at Rishio’s offer, Ourine ran to yey’r handing over the towel and turned yey’r back to yey’r to let yey’r dry gur’s hair.
A minute or two later, Ourine took a defensive stance in front of Rishio. Curious as to what made the child tense, Rishio looked up only to be met by alpha Ejana leaning against the kitchen doorway while giving Ourine a knowing smirk.
“What do you want?” Ourine asked puffing up gur’s feathers trying to look menacing.
“Well, gur is clearly not over the recent events,” Rishio thought to yey’r self, chucking at the sight of the child who barely reached yey’r neck was trying to “protect” yey’r from a full-grown alpha.
Alpha Ejana chuckled at the small alpha’s actions, pushing gur’self from the door way, gur slowly approached the both of them not missing how Ourine’s wings almost fell back down gur’s eyes widening at the approaching alpha, but not standing down.
“Very interesting.” Alpha Ejana thought to gur’self. Standing in front of the child, who was straining gur’s neck just to look at gur, gur crouched down to meet the child’s eye level. Not missing the way gur’s eyebrow twitched in annoyance at the action.
“Child, we both know that you are hundreds of years too early to beat me, so why don’t we call a truce for now?”
Ourine was relieved to hear this but still did not trust the alpha’s word,
“You will not harm Rishy?” Ourine asked, giving the alpha before gur a look of suspicion.
“I promise on my wings.” Alpha Ejana stated, assuring the child of Rishio’s safety using the highest form of promise among alphas.
Hearing this, Ourine took the alpha’s word and relaxed returning gur’s wings to their original position, earning a genuine smile from the older alpha.
“Now that that is out of the way, why don’t we start eating.” Alpha Ejana suggested while standing up from gur’s position.
“Are we not going to wait for the others?” Rishio asked, concerned it may be rude if they started eating without the two alphas.
“Why would we? They know its time to eat and if they are not here that is their problem.” Alpha Ejana replied brushing off Rishio’s concern as if it was weightless, while taking a seat at the head of the table.
“But still...”
“I want to eat, I am hungry.” Rishio was cut off by Ourine who quickly followed the alpha and sat beside gur.
“Guess it is decided,” Rishio mumbled out following the two alpha’s and sat on Alpha Ejana’s other side, opposite Ourine.
The first one to join the trio was alpha Sherak. After having a shower and taking off gur’s uniform in exchange of more casual clothes, Rishio noticed that gur looked a few years younger than yey’r.
“Hey the runt is here too! Did you start eating without me again?” Alpha Sherak asked, well more of shrieked.
“Calm down we have just started. Take a seat.” Alpha Ejana said in a tired tone, already tired of gur’s youngest child.
With an irritated huff, alpha Sherak lightly stomped towards them and sat beside Ourine.
“You know it is rude to eat before the owners.” Alpha Sherak mumbled under gur’s breath.
“What was that?” Alpha Ejana asked pausing from serving gur’self and throwing a challenging look towards alpha Sherak.
“Nothing, are you getting so old that you are hearing things?” Alpha Sherak sked sarcastically.
“Do you want me to there?” Alpha Ejana asked threateningly.
“No please!” Alpha Sherak answered quickly while sitting up straight.
Gur’s actions made Ourine laugh,
“What are you scared of gur?” Ourine teased the alpha.
Alpha Sherak sputtered unbelievably and answered,
“Yes! Do you see the size of those arms? One wrong move and I am a wingless alpha. Are you not scared of gur?”
“Who me?” nope not at all, I can take gur.” Ourine answered smugly.
“From what I heard, you were almost made into a new floor rug?” It was alpha Sherak’s turn to tease the child.
Ourine’s eyes grew wide with shock and embarrassment,
“Wh…what? No way, I was going easy on gur because gur is old.” Ourine’s words made everyone burst into laughter.
“Sure kid, next time do not go so easy on me.” Alpha Ejana said “Or I might just take your guardian with me.” Gur added with a flash of gur’s canines.
“No, you won’t, you promised.” Ourine whined, tears in gur’s voice.
“Hey kid do not worry if gur does, I will help you fight gur. I think if we both go against gur we might win.” Alpha Sherak assured the child making Ourine smile and answer with a determined nod.
“Besides, gur is old I am sure we will especially if we get Layieni’s help.” Alpha Sherak whispered to Ourine but loud enough for everyone else to hear.
“I swear one day I will end you.” Alpha Ejana threatened, pointing a knife at the conspiring alpha who just raised gur’s hands up but not before winking at Ourine who returned the wink.
“Oh no, this friendship duo will be a headache to all of us.” Rishio thought to yey’rself as yey chuckled at the chaos that was going on at the table.
“Why is yey sitting there?” The warm atmosphere was cut down by the cold voice that came from alpha Laiyeni who was standing at the room’s door way, directing a cold and disgusted look at Rishio.
“If looks could kill…” Rishio thought to yey’rself while releasing a sigh.
