Master Plan

"Huh, let you help me win her over? I-I don't know if I can do that? I mean, what if she says no?"

His breathing picked up and his face began to turn an even brighter shade of red. He is clearly nervous, but my free month at the inn depends on him dating her, so I keep pushing.

"If she says no, she says no. But hey, what if she says yes?"

I propose my question to him, letting the possibility of him and Mildred getting together fill his head. After a few moments of thinking, he turned his face to me, his eyes wide with determination.

"Okay, I will try. What should we do?"

A good question. It's a good thing I already thought of a plan. I quickly explain my plan to him, making sure he catches every detail. After I finish, I wait to hear his thoughts.

"Do you really think it will work?"

"Of course I do. All you need to do is follow my lead. Got it?"

"Yes, I got it."

"Okay then, let's go see Mildred."

"Wait, were leaving now!?"

Adam spoke quickly and with panic in his voice. It was clear he was nervous, but I would rather get this request done with quickly, that way I can relax.

"Yes right now. Let's go."

I start walking towards the inn, and after a moments hesitation, Adam follows me. Once we arrive, I open the door letting myself and Adam into the inn. Mildred was now scrubbing the floor of the inn with a cloth while on her hands and knees. When we came in, she looked up to greet us, but faltered slightly when she saw Adam. Seeing him, her face went a deep shade of red, so she turned her head down and began to scrub the floor more viciously.

Well then, here goes nothing. I hope this works.

"Hey Mildred, me and Adam were planning to hangout. Do you want to come with us?"

"W-what!? I can't do that, I still have work to do!"

Her face was beet red, probably out of the idea of spending time with Adam. I glance at the wooden desk where Lucy was sitting. When my eyes met her, I winked once, signaling her to agree with me. She quickly caught on to what I was doing, and a smile crept on her face.

"Mildred dear, I can take care of the rest of the cleaning, so why don't you go?"

"What? Well, if you're sure..."

Mildred was hesitant, but in the end, she chose to follow along. Everything is going according to my plan, all that's left is to arrive to our destination.

"Perfect. Adam is going to lead the way."

With that, Adam led us both to the dirt road. From there, we followed him down the road until we arrived to our destination. A large field of flowers as far as the eye can see. A hill in the middle of the field, with a large tree growing on top. As soon as we stepped off of the road, I coincidentally forgot something.

"Oh my, I forgot something important that I need to do. Why don't you guys go on ahead. I will head back."

"Wait, you're leaving? But then we will both be alone, together, with no one around to see us..."

Mildred panicked when I told her I was going to leave, and as she did, her imagination spiraled out of control, leaving her with a beet red face. Adam, however, was calm, as this was all a part of the plan.

"Well then, I will be leaving. You two have fun."

Without leaving Mildred time to try and convince me to stay, I began to walk back towards the town, not looking back once. As I walked, I could hear them both walking out into the flower field.

no Now then, all that's left to do is to keep an eye on them and ensure their 'date' goes smoothly. So then, how will I do that?

I had thought of everything in this plan, everything except for how to keep an eye on them. I guess I will have to wing it somehow. Maybe I can fly? Does this world have magic? Oh well, I can figure that out later, but let's see if I can hear them. Considering I have inhuman strength, inhuman agility, and inhuman sight, perhaps I have inhuman hearing.

Once I got to be a certain distance away, I perked my ears towards them. Surprisingly, my theory was correct, as their voices were ringing clear in my ears.

Wait, maybe all my senses are inhuman. If that's the case, I wonder what incredible food what taste like on inhuman taste buds? Wait, that doesn't matter right now, I need to focus on their conversation.

Pushing all of my unimportant thoughts out of my mind, I once again perk my ears to listen in on their conversation.

"Soo... Mildred, has your day been?"

Adam starts the conversation, trying to get Mildred going as well. Instead of answering him, however, she just turns her head down, to embarrassed to say anything.

"Uhm, okay then. I guess we can also not talk if you want."

Okay, not the best move in this situation, but not a terrible one either. Following her lead could work. Let's see how she responds.

"..."

"..."

Okay, neither of them are saying anything. This isn't a great sign. They aren't looking at each other either, which doesn't seem good. I hope this goes well.

"Uhm, uh, I really like you!"
