Mob

They're afraid. The way their eyes went wide, the way their bodies stiffened, the way they're clutching their weapons so tight, all of it shows just how afraid they are.

Why? Why are they afraid of me? Is taking down this many goblins really that impressive? I guess so, considering they brought twenty two adventurers for this fight.

So, what will happen next?

"You. How?"

"How? By killing them of course. How else?"

None of them moved, not even so much as breathed even. They were terrified. There isn't really anything I can do to ease their fears though. I just hope they don't do anything to rash.

"Well, since I took care of everything, you guys can go. Be sure to tell the villagers that their homes are safe."

After a few moments, they realized that their presence wasn't required, and slowly turned to leave on their horses, occasionally glancing back at me as they moved. Once they disappeared, I finally started to get to work.

Well, now that they're gone, I guess I can start dealing with all of these dead goblins. It's a good thing they also didn't notice how I'd killed the rest of them. They probably would have straight up attacked me out of fear for their lives if they saw all the different types of magic I could use.

The ones that I burned to ashes I can scatter with the wind. The ones I buried up to their feet I can just pull further down into the ground. The ones I froze to ice cubes I can just crush to bits. The ones I squeezed to death with plants I can just have burnt to ash and scattered into the wind. Now then, that should just about do it. All of the corpses have been dealt with.

Now that I have finished everything I needed to do, I'm going to sleep back at the inn. A nap sounds incredible right now.

A yawn creeped from the back of my throat, bringing a few small tears to the edge of my eyes, but I quickly blink those away. Walking to the inn, I quickly go inside, head up stairs, and enter my room.

I jump onto my bed, sinking into the soft and cozy mattress. I can't help but let out a small moan.

"Ahh, this is nice..."

Before I even realize it, I've fallen asleep.

"Yes, we swear! All of the goblins were dead! There were over a hundred, but one girl defeated all of them!"

All of the adventurers were telling everything they had whitnessed to everyone in the bar that was attached to the adventurers guild. As everyone listened, they had their eyes wide with disbelief. At first, everyone thought it was fake, but as everyone single member of the adventuring group persisted over and over that only one girl had killed all of the goblins, they slowly began to believe.

"How? How did one girl kill all of those goblins on her own?"

One adventurer who was entranced by the story asked, his eyes wide.

"That's the scary part. We have no idea. They were all dead before we even got there."

Silence. No one breathed, let alone spoke. After a few moments passed, the same adventurer asked another question.

"She defeated over a hundred goblins on her own, before midnight? Goblins only come at nightfall right? That means she killed them all in only a few hours..."

The reality of the girls strength quickly sank in, everyone realizing just how powerful this girl was.

"That's not all."

"There's more!?"

"Yeah. The craziest part of the whole thing was that it seemed like all of the goblins were killed with magic."

"WHAT!?!?"

Everyone listening to the story simultaneously yelled out the one word.

"How? How is that even possible? Wouldn't normal person run out of mana well before they killed that many enemies?"

"Well, from what we saw, she wasn't any normal person. She was like a monster. She didn't even appear the least bit tired either!"

"Seriously? Wouldn't someone with that kind of power be dangerous?"

Another long silence filled the room as everyone's mind filled with possibilities. Soon, fear was etched onto every single person's face.

"We can't risk someone that powerful being around. I mean, what if she were to do something bad? No one would be able to stop her!'

"You're right! Tell us, did you learn anything at all about her while you were there?"

"Yes we did. From what we saw, she appears to only have two types of magic. Fire and earth. We didn't see any evidence of a third kind of magic."

A girl with this kind of magic power?

A bystander who had overheard the conversation was thinking to himself.

We shouldn't kill someone so powerful, we should use them. Imagine all the good they could do if they were to be on our side. Immensely dangerous quests that would involve dozens of men could be finished easily by someone with the power they are describing. I should look into this.

"WHERE ARE YOU!?!?"

Huh?

I slowly woke up from my plesent nap. Who would yell this loud at this hour. The sun had only just risen...

Walking over to the window, I peer out to see over three dozen men scouring the village, some of them being the adventurers who showed up last night. What could they want? Well, there's only one way to find out.

Leaving my room and exiting the inn, I greet the men.

"Can I help you?"

The man I greeted was one of the adventurers from before.

"SHE'S OVER HERE!"

Ah, my poor ears! As soon as the words left the young adventurers mouth, everyone rushed over. Once they all arrived, they surrounded me.

"You! Someone as powerful as yourself shouldn't be allowed to live. Now die!"

"Huh?"
