Quiet

The sound of nature woke me up, like it did every morning. Birds chirped from outside, a windy breeze left a whistle in the air, and a small sigh left my body as I let out a plesent stretch. Now that I'm up, I should make some food. Bacon sounds nice, but so does eggs. Maybe I'll do both.

I picked myself out of my comfy bed that I made myself and left my small bedroom. The bedroom was the only separate room in my house. My food cooks over the fireplace, which sits in the living room, which is the main room in the house.

I didn't really bother decorating it, as I didn't care for them. My house was relatively simple all in all. There were two nice and comfy chairs that sat on a nice rug in front of the fireplace. I had a few flowers sitting on a vase by the window where light was streaming in, allowing for natural lighting throughout my small house.

I grabbed some food from my weekly supplies that were delivered from the city. Once I had my food, I put it over the fire that I started with my magic, beginning the relaxing process of cooking food.

This had become my daily routine. I would wakeup, make some food, and spend my day doing whatever I felt like. Sometimes I read books that were kept in my room, sometimes I took a nice stroll in the woods, and sometimes I just went back to sleep.

Every once in a while though, someone would knock on my door. Thankfully, it didn't happen often, so I got to enjoy my new quiet lifestyle. To be honest, it's better than I thought it would be. Sure I have a few responsibilities like cooking, cleaning, laundry and whatnot, but other than that, I get to do as I please.

Ah, it seems my food is done.

I grabbed the pan that my food was cooking on with my barehands, not feeling the extreme heat because I had a resistance to extreme temperatures, and brought it to the small table that sat in the corner of the room. The table was only large enough to seat two people, but it wasn't often that I had company, so most of the time it was empty.

Before I realized it, I had finished all of my food and only had a hot pan left on the table. Well, what should I do today? I could go for a stroll, but I'm not really up for a walk. I could do chores, but I don't feel like taking care of responsibilities today. Honestly, I don't feel like doing anything. I guess I'll just go back to sleep.

Getting up from the table, I made my way back to the room, leaving the pan behind. Once there, I closed the door and threw myself down onto the bed. I'm not particularly tired, and it's to bright for me to really sleep anyways.

Why didn't I do anything?

No, don't go there! I've tortured myself enough over what happened, I don't need to do it again.

But I could have done something if I wasn't so selfish.

Shut up! It's been over a year since it happened! Why are you still upset with yourself?

I let people die when I could have done something! Why aren't you upset?

"I SAID SHUT UP!"

My voice loudly echoed throughout the house, silencing even the chirping from birds in the woods next to my house.

You know what, I don't feel like sleeping anymore. I just need to find something to distract myself. I think a stroll would be nice after all.

I got out of my bed that I had just gotten comfortable in, and left my room. From there, I went out the front door to the outside world. The door opens directly on the small porch where a nice wooden rocking chair sits. When it rains, I like to sit there and just watch it fall, but it isn't raining today. I skipped the few steps that lead to the ground and instead decide to jump from the porch to the ground.

I had a simple trail that I had formed through the woods that just follows the small river and then loops back around to the house. It's the same trail I walk every time I take a stroll.

As I follow the trail, the calming sound of the flowing river follows me, calming me down from my outburst. Everytime is slightly different from before. Sometimes I'll see a beautiful rabbit skid across the trail, other times a dear, and once I even found a goblin. That day, I chased it back to its base and eradicated all of them.

Ever since I killed the goblins, I will occasionally see a monster that needs to be taken care of. It seems like the goblins had been guarding the woods as theirs territory, killing any monsters that entered. Ever since they were all killed, monsters began to trickle into the area. Of course I kill them when I see them, but it gets tedious after a while

Oh, speaking of the devil. A Raging Bear crossed the path I was walking, confronting me where I stood. There were plenty of monsters within the Raging species. Basically it was just your everyday animal, but they're born to be constantly angry and twice as strong as their normal counterparts. I once even came across a raging turtle. Apparently they're super rare, so once I killed it, I traded it's parts.

Enough about that though, I should take care of him. I snapped my fingers, causing a fire to explode out from within the bear. In an instant, the bear had been defeated, and I continued on my walk.
