At first, all of them was quite unsure whether they heard someone sing, but when they felt a soft wind howl. They felt at peace.
"Daisy?!" Granger then opened his eyes to see if his prayers were heard, but when he saw the same thing... He lowered his shoulders and sighed disappointingly.
"Granger... We too may have heard it, but maybe the wind just played tricks on us." One of his friends said.
"I agree with her... And if it was really Daisy, then the army must've seen her with us right? We're just living near her house, so it's impossible to miss her-"
"Broken smile~
Tired eyes~
I can feel your longing heart~
Call my name
Howling from afar~" They all stopped when they heard the voice again, and this time. It really made them realize one thing, mostly in Grangers mind.
"She's alive! Daisy's alive! We need to get her out of there!" He also shouted as he try to get off the carriage. But was pulled back by the others. "What do you think you're all doing?! Daisy is out there! She needs our help!" He screamed and tried to stand up.
"Will you please calm down for a moment?! How would we know if it's her and not just some random ghosts?!"
"Stop making fun of her! I can feel that she is still alive and I don't know how to answer this feeling of mine." Granger said in a serious voice.
"Stop the carriage!" The king commanded and they all stopped. Silence again came between all of them and this time, they heard a voice of a young girl.
"Help me~
Is anybody there?~
Save me~
I'm running out of air~
Oooh~
Callin' out mayday~"
"Let's go back and follow that voice! No matter how long it takes! Find that voice!" The king commanded, making everyone turn around to get back at the entrance.
They all felt alive again, even the children felt energetic as they help search for the voice. The cavalry searched back from where they came from, while the children, then went to the plaza to see if there is someone out there. And when they saw piles of corpses, some of them threw up. The others have ran away in fear, and the strong ones, tried there best to search the area.
"Save me... I'm running out of air." Instead of a song, they heard someone talk, making them felt scared, but with Grangers leadership... They continued and circled around the area, where they found...
"Daisy?!" They all shouted in both surprised and worried expressions as they saw her about to collapse.
"Daisy? Daisy! Look at me... Do you still remember me? Hey! Please answer me." Granger then went to her aid to assist her. He held her face to see her more clearly, and he was surprised to see blood on her chest. "Please keep up with me... I don't want you to die! Please... You're the only family that I have aside from our friends." He said crying in front of her.
"Where are Mailey and Jaimey?" One of them asked , and she still just looked down in front of them, like she doesn't care about a single thing at all. Her enthusiastic self was now gone, her eyes' sparkle has been shattered and even if she is still alive... She looks dead.
"No need to ask such question." The other answered and pointed at the bodies beside Daisy. There, they were surprised to see her family.
"What the hell?! Why did they do this?! Specially to Jaimey?!" One of the boys asked while looking at Jaimey's slit head.
"The ones who did this must be monsters." Another girl said.
"And it doesn't matter anymore, because we will leave right now." General Frost said, making everyone almost scream in fear. "Sorry for that children... Anyway, we need to go." He said and they all helped Daisy stand up. Because even if they say so, she wouldn't listen and just sat down with her back on the pile of dead bodies and her chin on his knees with his arms wrapped around his legs.
It took a while for them to take Daisy into the carriage, because aside from being a bit heavy. She seemed to not want to leave the place. But king Merci said something that made her change his mind. So they all leave immediately, after getting her.
"It's really sad to say that Mailey and Jaimey couldn't join us. They are the only one's who are not here." One of the girls said and everyone agreed.
"All we can only do now, is by praying for there souls to be sent in Aurora's palace, and everyone too." The boy in front of her said and everyone nodded.
Granger and Daisy were sitting next to each other. Daisy's head rests on his left shoulder while Granger looks out to see the view. When he saw a cactus growing, he quickly wanted to tell Daisy for her to see it, but when he realizes that she is fast asleep... He didn't move an inch. He just let her rest, knowing what she've been through.
He also felt tired of watching outside, so he tried to sleep by leaning his head on Daisy's. And when he felt comfortable, he closed his eyes and took a nap. Everyone else also did, for they have been through a lot today and they still can't forget what happened. Also, crying too much was too tiring for them, so they felt asleep.
"Even if I am a bit happy to see them like that... I still can't forget why we need to bring them to the castle." The king said sadly as he look at the now sleeping children.
"I can't blame you for that sire... For I feel the same. They witnessed the deaths of their beloved and almost lost hope about their friend, so I know it's really not easy for them to let go.
Even if one year passes by, they will still not forget about what happened back there." Frost explained.
"I wish they will have a new and good life at the palace." The king said and then silence filled the atmosphere again.
