Chapter 48: An Invitation For a Cause

Third Person

More days have passed and Daisy finally regained back her sight. She also became stronger as days pass by, for they had waisted no days without training. If so, they would lock themselves inside their rooms and never eat anything. A punishment which they both agreed without Ban's consent. At first, the oracle was a bit worried that they wouldn't be able to withstand the hunger, but they did. Making her amazed at how they managed to overcome their hardships. But Daisy still got disappointed.

"I tried to control and use the power of phoenix, but it didn't work. Nothing came out, even just a little. The only thing that I managed to use, was this wand that you gave me. Oracle, what do I need to do in order to use the powerful magic?" She asked sadly as she look at her hands with disappointment.

"I cannot answer that question of yours, because the only thing that can seek the solution is you, yourself." Ban explained and in just a minute, someone knocked at the door. "Who could it be? This early?" Ban asked and went to the door. The two following behind her. After opening the door, they were greeted by an empire guard.

"You must be Oracle Ban? If so, I was tasked to bring you with Granger and Daisy to the palace. The royal family wants to see you again." He explained and they looked at each other.

"Please wait, while we ready ourselves." Ban answered.

"Please take your time." The palace guard said and they went back inside the house.

"I don't know what they are up to now, but if they need you two, then we can't let this slide. This is also part of your step towards your success. So please don't be against it." Ban explained while the other two just nodded as an answer.

Soon after, they were ready to set fort, they went out of the house and secured everything before taking their leave. Not long after they reached the palace, they were greated by the royal family at the throne room.

"Great to have you back here Oracle Ban." The queen said while given her best smile. The oracle bowed at this, to send her respects.

"Same as what my mother have said, but to the two of you." The princess said while smiling. Daisy bowed to show her respect, while Granger put his right fist in his left chest. "Mom, can I play with them? Even just for a bit?" She pleased.

"Imea, may I need to remind you that they are not here to play?" The king said and stand up, making the princess pout. "I'm happy to bring such news... Because Daisy was given an invitation to study at Genesis Academy. Therefore, she needs to answer, for us to know if she wants to study or not." He explained, making all of them surprised.

"But Genesis is far from the empire, your highness. And if I may base on your story, Granger will be apart from her, which is something that is hard for them to do." Oracle Ban also explained, making the two hold each other in fear of being able to be apart again for how many times already.

"I'm afraid to leave you again, Granger." Daisy whispered in fear, but Granger just held her by the shoulder to assure her.

"I won't let that happen. So please don't be afraid." Granger said and smiled at her.

"It is best for you, Daisy. Since you're the barer of the powerful Phoenix. Genesis not only teaches discipline to students, but also to control and make use of their magic. For that is the main school of magic in Aurora's Land." The king said, but even if so, Daisy wouldn't want to go.

"I'd rather give this power to someone else than be apart from the people who'm I care the most." She said and started tearing up. "I already lost my family, I can't afford to loose them too." She said, but the oracle went to her and said.

"If you really care for us. Then do what is right and follow the instructions of the thy highness. The same goes for you too, Granger." She said and looked at both the kids.

"But-"

"It is for the best of all, and for you two." She said. "Don't worry, it won't be that long before you see each other again. It's just ten years to wait." She said and held both the children's cheeks.

"Ten years?! Oracle, what do you expect from us? Some kind of stone who doesn't feel anything? Ten years? That's so long!" Daisy said hysterically. But when Granger held her hand to calm her down, she looked at him with teary eyes again.

"We may be apart from each other again, Daisy. But that won't make me forget about you, and I know that it is the same for you. For now, this is the least that we could do for the path that we want to take. So even if it's a long wait, let's just bare with it, just for a little while, ok?" Granger said and gave her the sweetest but saddest smile that he gave to her.

Nothing to say about it, Daisy, having no other choice, just nodded at this and embraced Granger as tight as she could. She also embraced the oracle while crying silently.

"I will miss you two. I will never forget about you, and after doing what I need to do, I will come back here as soon as I can, and we will be together again. I promise that." She said and looked at the throne where the three royalties are. "I'll take the invitation to study at Genesis Academy."

After saying those words, they gave her the things she needs and was set to start her journey towards the school that they have said. With no other than the soldiers assigned to accompany her, they left the empire and set foot to Genesis Academy.

"Be safe as always ok? We will be waiting for you here! I will always wait for you! If you ever come back, just look for me at the palace gates! I will be there, waiting!" She heard Granger shouted at her as loud as he could, so she just smiled while crying silently and looked back at the ones she left.

"Please be safe also! I promise to come back as soon as possible. I will remember what you've said!" She said and gave one last smile, even though she knew that they couldn't see it anymore. Until they were now out of sight.

She just sighed and looked ahead, thinking of what to do when they reach their destination.

"Please let us all arrive safely. With no one getting injured or harmed." She prayed and was called to sleep.
