Chapter 5 - A change from within
Somewhere in an dark unreachable area - ..."It has started, hasn't it?" "Yes, the other "one of us" has awakened and is morphing right now..." "Perfect... let us begin the preperations then... Since he really saw "it", even if it was just a hunch, the evolution should start soon..."
..."Oh, if it isn't the guy, who cheated his way into the regionals and took my well-earned place... and... just because you tied... Bill... Bill isn't even that strong... he has great speed thanks to his body... that is all their is to him... So what can we do for you today? What do you want?!" Jimmy said while being unable to contain the anger that has been built up for the last few days. 'Damn! Why haven't I thought of that! A local family could only send 2 fighters to the nearby regionals and Jimmy originally should have been the one who my family sends with John..." "Jimmy please calm down. It wasn't Marc's decision... Father has decided that. So please don't be angry at him..." Leon said trying to negotiate with Jimmy. "Angry? I am NOT angry about HIM stealing probably our last choice to prove our value and the reason why they nurtured us all this time! So NO, I am not angry just desperate..."
"I am sorry... I didn't know any better... I just wanted to talk about my fight with Bill from last time." I said full of worry for Jimmy and the others.
"Sure, let us go to the benches then and have a talk." said Bill like he couldn't care less about the current situation.
..."So why do you wanna talk about our battle?" "This might sound stupid but... did you find or see anything strange at the end of our battle?" I asked a bit afraid of his answer. "Nah there was nothing wrong with the fight... the only strange thing was your behaviour at the end of the fight. I mean at first you couldn't fight back and I almost knocked you out with my first punch. You didn't seem like you held back though. But how could you suddenly match my speed and dodge those punches?...Maybe something changed within you, I guess."
"Something within me... huh?"
"Looks like Leon couldn't calm Jimmy down enough. You should run." Bill said with his stoic immovable face as always.
"WHERE IS HE?!?" I heard Jimmy's agitated voice and started to run away towards the nearest street so I could reach our mansion the fastest way possible.
'Just a few more steps!' I thought worried and immediately after I turned around the corner of the park, I saw 3 of his goons. "There he is, Jimmy!" One of them screamed, obviously the faster thinker. "Damn it!" I squeaked after seeing them rushing towards me. I wasn't able to outrun them and they caught up pretty quickly. Realizing that my only choice was to fight them, I turned around, jumped and slammed my fist in the face of the nearest one, knocking him 2 meters away and stopping his pursuit.
"WH..WHAT? How did he do that?! He wasn't supposed to be that strong!" Said the second goon, just as suprised as me
'He is right... What just happened?' I felt some kind of energy surging from within me. Something I never felt before.
I couldn't care less at that moment and took the initiative to run away. Quickly getting rid of their confusion they followed me, but this time it felt like they weren't as fast as before... no it looked as if the time slowed down around me and I was unaffected. 'I'll just outrun them for now and think about this later!'
To an outsider it should have looked like I was getting faster and faster. My pursuers simply couldn't keep up and were left to bite the dust.
'If I keep this up, I'll be there in about 5 minutes!' This was the only thing I could do right now. Just concentrate and run.
Just as I thought I would really be able to escape, I heard his familiar voice and saw his Silhoute coming out of the shadows.
"Jimmy..." I said while trying to stay calm and putting up a smile. "Well, well, well, if it isn't the cheat, who stole my place in the regionals.... Oh, wait! I have a fantastic idea! How about we fight for it right here right now? Hm what about it? Too scared?" Jimmy said with a cunning smile and left me no choice but to accept, since I was already surrounded by his other goons.
"I just can't say no to you." I grinned to provoke him and let him lose his already unstable cool.
"Quite confident, aren't you? You couldn't even defeat Bill, so you will never win against me! Prepare to die!"
