Chapter 96 Dependence

"Deva? What's wrong?"

"A-ah...Well...there so many guards here..."

The residence Deva accidentally 'stumbled on' is surrounded and protected by hundreds if not thousands of guards, each of them is a strong warrior and mindless toys to the Saintess. The moment these guards spotted Deva aimlessly walking around the residence, they immeadiately recognized her as the person their master was searching and asked to Deva to follow them.

"Don't bother with them they are just guards with no name." Saintess Lucia frowned to see that Deva was more focused on the toys she broke and have lost interest long ago. But her frown disappeared when Deva turned around and started to follow her around the residence.

But everytime Deva showed more interest in things other than her, Saintess Lucia would start to frown more and more and a strange desire to make Deva only focus on her and only her started to eat inside her. A flame burned inside her threatening to burst and break Deva like the others, but Saintess Lucia didn't want that, she wanted for Deva to stand by her side, not as a broken thing like the others but as a partner or atleast not as broken as them.

"This place is full of expensive furniture!" Deva with a silly face exclaimed, focusing on her surroundings Deva once again ignored the Saintess earning from her a low growl. similar to a starved beast.

"I-I'm just hungry! That's all! Why don't we start dinner and continue tomorrow, how does that sound?" Changing subject and hiding her panicked expression, Saintess Lucia grabbed Deva's wrist and dragged her to the dining room, unawere of Deva's smirk that was immediately hidden by a pained face.

"S-Saintess.It hurts, please slow down for a moment." Deva cried out, waking up Lucia from her stupor and witnessed Deva's face to the verge of tearing up.

The moment Lucia released her grip on Deva, Deva collapsed and fell on her. Supporting Deva, Lucia observed her from toe to head. Deva's bare, a bit dirty and shaking legs, her rugged clothes that revealed most of her skin but enough to cover the important parts, the beads of sweat rolling down on her skin making it slightly moist, her pained expression paired up with her crimson eyes that threatened to release some tears and lastly the warmth Deva was transmitting to her by skin contact and by her ragged breath.

A single sorry went out from Lucia's mouth but there was more than words of apologies on her mind, with just the stunt Deva pulled off Lucia was already in the verge of wanting to devour her, just by watching Deva's face Lucia awakened the inner sadist within her, threatening to desire more of Deva's expressions.

And the silly and nervous laugh from Deva caused only more stupor and veneration from Lucia. If the people around Lucia venerate her as a goddess then Lucia is doing the same by venerating Deva like a goddess.

"Saintess? Are you feeling well?" Deva asked, her angelic traveling directly on Lucia's ears making Lucia's spine shudder. It didn't stop there as Deva continued her attack by watching her in the eyes.

Being slightly taller than her, Deva had to tilt a bit her head to see eye to eye with Lucia and the same with Lucia with her head that had to be slightly lowered. With that their lips were just a few inches from touching, small enough for one of them to lean forward to kiss each other.

But before something could happen, Deva's face reddened with the sudden predicament and tried to seperate but ending up that she was unable to as her legs were seemingly unable to move, nonetheless the awkward air vanished and the two laughed.

"Hehe, I'm sorry, Saintess. It seems that I need your help about this."

With a gentle and reassuring smile,"It seems you cannot endure to walk. I'll bring you to your room and bring you there your dinner."

For reasons unknown, it seemed that the corridor the two were in was devoid of guards and there weren't any traces of them coming soon, in fact if Deva were to observe her surroundings more deeply she would have noticed that there was only a locked metal door leading to a special room but before she had the chance to notice it Lucia had already brought her to her room.

After laying down Deva on her bed, Lucia has to walk the same corridor the two passed by and after glancing at the hidden door, she murmured, "If things don't go well, then...Mmm!That's the worst outcome for now I just need to increase her dependence on me."

The Saintess laughed as she walked towards the kitchen.

Just as Deva was falling asleep, Lucia entered the room bringing a plate with some rice and sausages and a glass of water.

As Deva ate, Lucia sat on a chair and observed Deva eating, Lucia's eyes especially glinted the moment Deva drank the water.

It won't make Deva lose consciousness or be more obedient meaning the pills Lucia put didn't have short-terms effects but are for the long run.

Just as Deva woke up and wanted to stretch her body didn't allow her to.

"E-eh?"

She couldn't stand up in fact her body felt heavier than usual and she was feeling more exhausted than yesterday.

*knock**knock*

From the steps, Deva understood that it was Lucia but nonetheless just smirked despite her body was in that state and with a feeble and weak voice,"W-who is it?"

On the other side of the door, Lucia was also smirking and despite having heard Deva, she continued to knock.

After some minutes, Lucia spoke aloud, "Maybe she went to another place?"

Playing along, Deva cried out with a desperate voice for help and just as she seemingly gave up, the door opened revealing Lucia's concerned face.

"Deva? Heyhey, what's wrong? Why are you crying?"

Despite her worried face, Lucia was deligthed. Not only Deva was showing her desperate face but she was also being asked for help and that will slowly become dependence.

She wanted to see more of that despair turn to hope as they see her.
