Chapter 151 Rewind

-My champion, I'll send you to a place where you can find an artifact related to time.

-A heart, to get the artifact you have to get the heart of someone special.

-You have given me too much already. Three domains...so...so many souls...and if you can pull this off then I'll have four from you...I cannot just sit here. My blessings are nothing compared to what you did. You'll get a longer lifespan and capable slaves but me...? I would obtain three domains where I can groom similar champions where they can have a chance to conquer a domain!

-Gina and Tina, those little things and that Matriarch will follow you after all this. Your business here is soon approaching its end.

-This is only your only chance on obtaining such an artifact and my only chance on sending a champion in this domain.

-Here, I can give another hint, the moment you take the heart you'll win.

-Have fun playing with time.

Perpetua.

A girl whose only desire is to survive as long as possible. Yet, it seemed that life didn't want that.

Death.

As if death was chasing her, she has the most probability to die in any situation. It wasn't just that, Perpetua seemed to part of a ridiculous story, a story involving her in every single major event of her country or world. And each one of them involved the death of someone.

Every time she died she would 'rewind' time towards a specific period of her life: at her second year at the academy.

As a noble girl she was obligated to participate even if she knew every subject and every word that her teachers would say during that year and the next years to come to her graduation.

She had given up on remembering every face or names of her classmates, the most important phase of her life was after graduating. There, she could move as she wanted and try every means to escape death. But it was also the most troublesome time of her life as many unique characters would try to help her or join in her life.

Some pledged their honor to protect her. Some supported her with money and promises. Some whispered sweet words of love. However none of them managed to help her in front of death.

One could say that she made many friends and lovers...however after a 'rewind' these people would forget every moment they spent with Perpetua. What was the point of feeling something for someone that would forget her? It was better to use them to live as long as she could.

A curse.

Even if it was a sort of immortality, Perpetua didn't want that. She would rather just die without any rewind.

"Per...petua... run!" A man in the verge of death said to her yet the same man continued to hold his greatsword.

"Yes..." Perpetua sighed.

The man protecting her, and disregarding his life for her own is called Ben. The man seemed to be driven by justice and righteousness as oftentimes he would confront and slay any evil-doer.

"Such a troublesome person..." Perpetua tsked as she watched in the distance the back of Ben. More than once Ben brought more trouble to Perpetua than she wanted.

Thinking about it Perpetua would always find Ben amongst the ones that would inevitably encounter her.

Instead than heroes these people brought her more trouble instead of safety. And the fact that for some reason most of these heroes would 'fall for her' didn't help.

"Oi!I found one!"

"Is this one of the remaining nobles?"

Farmers. Revolutionists.

Perpetua backed away as she thought about those words. However, surrounded as she was there wasn't any escape. The sacrifice of Ben didn't brought her enough time to escape.

Watching the expressions of the farmers, Perpetua knew that she wouldn't survive even if she offered them her body, so without any hesitation she drew hidden knife and plunged it precisely on her throat.

That was her thousandth death. And another 'rewind' occured.

Every event, every single smile, drop of blood, memory, or death and birth was once again erased and in due time will occur once again.

Waking up, Perpetua found herself once again in her loud classroom.

"Haaa..."

Perpetua was tired. Mentally tired.

She tried many paths with these unique characters and even with people that normally wouldn't interact with her or viceversa.

None of her classmates glanced at her as she walked towards the door, despite being a noble she was the most quiet student of her class and most importantly her fellow classmates would oftentimes disregard her or blatantly ignore her.

One of her privilages as a noble is that she could leave the class early. Instead of directly head towards home she walked towards one of the stores and decided to relax.

With a cup of tea Perpetua sat in a corner of the bar and enjoyed herself.

"Um...excuse me?" A soft voice called her.

"Yes? How can I help you?" Without even opening her eyes Perpetua drank her cup of tea.

"You are a student of the Columb academy, am I right? Can you perhaps give me the directions?"

Opening her eyes, Perpetua studied the girl in front of her.

Despite tying her hair the girl in front of her couldn't hide how long her hair was and what was unique about the girl was her crimson eyes. And most importantly...the girl seemed to not have any ill-intentions towards her.

"A transfer student?" Perpetua tried to guess as the academia started a week ago.

"No, no. I'm here to take the admission tests for maids."

"I see...well here are the directions..." Without wasting anymore time Perpetua told the girl the directions.

"Thank you vert much! Miss erm-"

"Miss Aevum Perpetua from the house of Aevum. Pleasure to meet you."

"Yes! Yin at your service!" As a decorum towards a noble the girl slightly made a bow before running off towards the academy.

"Mmm..." Perpetua sipped as she gazed at the girl from a far.

"Was there a student named Yin?" Perpetua wondered. "Especially with such unique features...she probably failed the tests or that I simply don't remember." With a shrug Perpetua continued to relax as she drank her tea.

Arriving at the gates, Deva smiled.

"This is my tenth 'rewind'. I finally found who is my target."
