Chapter 162 Enemy of a hero

A transparent figure of a girl floated around me.

"Yin...or should I call you Deva...I...am really greatful..." Her affectionate gaze nor her gentle tone changed when speaking with me, the person who lied and killed her.

"Deva...I am now connected with you and unable to seperate with, even after death I'll be right there with you...isn't this the best gift you can give to me...?" Even though the phantom couldn't touch my cheek she nonetheless stroked it with her hand.

"Didn't I say I love you...? Hating you...cursing you...why should I fall in that way if I can instead still love you in this form?"

*clank!*

*clank!*

For a moment I glanced towards the direction of the faint noises and there I could see Ben aggressively swinging his sword against the barrier I conjured around me. But my eyes soon returned towards the phantom who was still expressing her love.

"I don't have to fear of living the same days over and over again. My death by your hands seemed to be instead a blessing for me!Ah! I cannot touch you anymore but I can still whisper some words of love and dirty words every now and then..." I watched Perpetua as she said those words with the most innocent and satisfied expression she could convey.

"Look, it seems that someone else is feeling a bit different from your current emotions." As Perpetua turned her head towards Ben my smile grew even further as the hero tried to strike my barrier with all of his might.

"You seem to be rather interested in this man...do you perhaps..."

"I don't like men Pereptua, I like being held or holding the sweet form of a woman."

"Then what about him...? Just during these past minute I can see that you have the power to deal with him rather easily or atleast counter attack." The two of us watched the shockwaves caused by Ben that in return affected everything around us.

Furnitures were already reduced to dust. The walls separating the rooms also returned to ashes while screams and yells could be heard in the distance.

"He is a child that has a grudge towards me and there's nothing I can do to be forgiven."

"A great sin?"

"You can say that."

The phantom gazed at Ben with innocent curiosity similar to a child.

Pointing at Ben she said. "He...will be there always pursuing you attempting at your life in different forms...strange..."

"Oh?" I was surprised she could see my future? My title and this second heart's powers contraddict each other in theory but it seems that it is not the case here. Even if this phantom was lying there's no need to worry too much about it. Even if this phantom's demostration love will be revealed to be false or that it can harm me there's nothing to be fear it.

I thought those words as Perpetua returned her attention to me with an expectant gaze.

"It seems you are rather useful after all Perpetua."

"Mmm!" Perpetua leaped in the air in joy. "Hm? Deva, you don't need my help with Ben?"

Since Perpetua can foresee the dangers that can occur then she can surely warn me about what actions my enemies will do during a battle rendering this second heart also a perfect artifact for combat.

"As long as it isn't life threatening you don't need to, by the way can you make so that he won't be able to see you?"

"That's a child's play! I can make myself visible to only you or not and in the current situation I'm only visible to you."

"Mm."

*clank*

*clank*

Attentively observing Ben I waited for a chance and not before long I started my assault.

"What?" With a sudden swipe from a tentacle I conjured I knocked out the greatsword from Ben's hold. The greatsword shone in mid-air and seemingly ready do reappear in Ben's hands but before it could do anything a bubble was created encapsulating the sword and preventing it from teleporting or being taken away.

Was it a luck that I managed to do that? Obviously not. The sudden arrival of Ben was prepared by me and Violetta who lured him to here, his emotions in turmoils to the addition that I didn't make amove even when he attacked created a chance for me to easily surprise him and disarm him.

"Ben. Hero. Reincarnator. You have many titles with you, how should I call you?"

"How do you-"

"I know many things about you but on the other way it seems you only know me as the culprit behind your sister's death."

Despite Ben was defenseless and ready to be slaughtered I instead decided to talk with me like a second-rate villain.

"You evil-" Tendrils started to wrap themselves around Ben restraining his movements, no matter how strong he struggled or managed to tear off some tentacles by sheer force alone the tentacles held him still.

"We are bound by fate, Ben!" I spread my arms. "Your sister's life, your love, your first life and now the second. The moment you die your relationship within Intris will be cut and then you will build new ones in your third life!"

It didn't matter how many times one killed a reincarnator since they would reincarnate in another body and continue their own pursuits. To truly defeat one is to break their will or seal them somewhere forever. My current situation unables me to seal Ben the only thing I can do for the time being is to claim his life and fuel his hatred towards me.

"The fourth. The fifth...Whether you will be able to find me in this vast 'Everything' is up to you. But I'll be waiting you to attempt to slit my throat."

Finishing my monologue I let my tentacles wrap around Ben tighter and tighter. Bones creaked and broke, organs bursted and flesh grinded to little pieces.

I didn't let Ben's death to be a quick and swift one.

My malicious smile was ingrained in Ben's mind and put myself in the top of his blacklist.

"Well...that's it."

Quickly growing disinterested in watching the pool of blood that was created I diverted my attention towards the greatsword.
