Chapter 204 Pointlessness

The world was still in a state of alarm despite Deva's capture and the shadows' disappearence since only a day passed but Terzia's ominous feeling did not disappear and instead strengthened when she watched the sealed form of Deva being taken away and brought to the prison cells of her family.

Her nemesis was finally defeated, captured and kept inside a prison cell located in the main house of her family that can be said to be a literal fortress where either monsters or not are unable to enter or leave forcefully.

She defeated with her own hands.

But why she felt so empty? She felt nothing such as achievement but instead a sense of loss.

That motivation to get stronger for revenge if she were to meet her nemesis vanished.

"Living a quiet life, huh." Terzia muttered to herself.

There was so much time ahead but for Terzia that was not something to rejoice.

What will happen? She'll live this third life and then live another one and so on? Just the prospect of it seems to be horrifying.

The concept of death being no different from dreaming.

A meanigless cycle of life and death.

No matter how bright or how dark her starting life will be, that, there is no difference in it.

No matter how many adventures or memories she'll be able to experience, everything will be meaningless and useless, bound to be forgotten in the abyss.

A literal torture for immortal beings or that can live long enough to lose all their drive as time passes.

The torture called time torture till this day all of the powerful immortal beings scattered inside 'Everything', if there's someone that can totally be fine with it then that's Deva.

"Days that become pointless."

The fire of revenge she was feeling was replaced by an ominous feeling and that ominous feeling overwhelmed by that of pointlessness.

That feeling might vanish in a minute or in years but in the moment Terzia was overwhelmed by such emotion just by thinking about the future.

The pervading emotions of helplessness and hopelessness caused Terzia to curl in her bed.

Meanwhile Deva was instead feeling the opposite.

Her whole body was aching and screaming at her to treat her injuries, but she was thrown in this small cell without being cured. The smell of fresh blood coming from such injuries filled the cell.

The excruciating and searing pain in her body, however, caused Deva to feel alive.

"This is it. Ah, it hurts." Deva beamed despite even being in pain.

She ripped part of her clothes to use as a sort of bandages and to stop the blood to flow too much outside of her body.

It was at that moment that the door of her cell opened and revealed the face that resembled that of Terzia.

The person, however, instead of talking to Deva, she took out a scroll and ripped it apart activating a spell that changed the space around them.

The current girl known as Secunda Samsara living with the Samsara family was not the same Secunda Samsara people knew two years ago.

"Greetings, my mistress!" The girl kneeled in front of Deva and greeted her with fervor and with a certain desire in her eyes. Deva saw such desire since she was the one who conditioned her and without hesitation patted her in the head and praised her causing the girl to melt from such affections.

Deva treated such girl as if she was a pet properly doing a trick.

Obviously behind this unhealthy affection and loyalty there were months of physical, psychological torture with the addition of a system of punishments and rewards.

Deva just needed to find the perfect time to take away Secunda where she was doing a certain mission and use an item that can slow time around them to properly break her before returning her to her family as if nothing happened. Obviously, Deva tested her loyalty many times and after many many attempts and punishments that Secunda finally lost any will to even think about betraying Deva.

It might have been a toiling and slow process but to Deva it was quite a fun moment.

No use of drugs or magic were used to directly break Secunda's mind.

"Oh god! That little sister of mine really caused you such injuries! I'm going to-"

"Secunda."

"Yes, mistress. I won't."

It was just a word but seeing and hearing Deva's tone that Secunda understood that Deva did not want her to think about pointless things.

"Ahem. Well then, here's my report. Everything's ready. Terzia's room has been sealed and no one or nothing can disturb her or enter even if the world ends. The Samsara family members will be holding an important meeting in an hour and this very moment the families that are hostile to them and that Core properly managed to manipulate are waiting to strike while most of the servants and common soldiers belonging to the Samsara family that have levels below that Lust charmed are also ready to open the gates and deactivate the various alarm systems and traps. Lastly, every single person in the world that have levels below Lust are currently charmed and are ready to unleash chaos in the world just with a single word from her. Core will send the signal to Lust, to the hostile families and to the servants when everything is in place."

"Mmm. That's good. Is this cell also sealed?"

"Yes, it is. Only when the one who ripped the scroll wants it or when it dies that the sealed space can return to normal."

"Eee, I cannot see anything then."

"Mistress, don't be sad about that. I'm here to relieve of your needs and boredom."

"Mmm..." Deva paused a moment before smirking. "You are right, I really need someone to properly tend my wounded body."

Invasion. Invading the other side with an armed force.

Intris was unable to deal with a foe more powerful than them but with Deva's forces every attempt of invading Intris with an army or using direct confrontation was resolved swiftly by using a great amount of resources and Core's drones. And any attempt of assassination of the important figures of Intris were prevented and the assassins were captured and brainwashed.

Deva and her forces basically defended alone Intris from the invaders and at the same time caused chaos to the other side.

If the enemy is too powerful for Intris then Deva needed just to reduce the enemy's power to balance such gap.
