Chapter 238 Who needs an enemy if you have Deva as an ally?

May God grant this child their wishes. May this child be grateful for the gifts.

May God forgive the rage of the gray wolf. May the gray wolf find solace in the rage he is engulfed by.

May God leave the sloth to his eternal idleness. May the sloth find some endeavor within that idleness.

May God present to the red fox that earthly desires she yearns for. May the love given to the red fox wake her up from her greed.

May God celebrate with the pig in a never-ending banquet. May the pig eat in abundance and well.

May God praise the lustful young woman's self-control. May the woman find hope within that distorted love.

May God accept the demon's challenge. May the demon never surpass God.

Core visited every single sin, and recited the corrispondent line to the corrispondent sin, but was obviously met with hostility by either the sin themselves or their loved ones. They had the right to hate and be angry towards Deva. They now understood how Deva's victims felt. They were suddenly thrown into misfortune and despair just because they were with Deva.

The landscape within the [Tower of Trial] remained the same, and yet the residents in it changed drammatically compared to when it was first conquered by Deva, it became a land infested with predators and prey. It is indeed a land of wonder by outsiders, but looking at the shadows of this brilliant place one might be swallowed by it.

...

May God accept your submission. May the nun receive the bliss from serving her God.

May God plan for the woman the warmth she had been yearning. May the woman sink in the warmth she has found.

May God bless the sheep for soothing for eternity the wolf. May God forgive the rage of the sheep towards the corrupt God.

May God notice your efforts that will continue for eternity. May God give her the eternal rest that the old woman deserves.

May God spread her love with the young priestess. May the young priestess inflict eternal pain (love) to everyone.

May God free you from the pleasures you tasted. May the limbless man regain his self-control.

May God support you in your new nature. May this young woman make others bow to her.

Core also visited every single virtue, and recited the correspondent line to the correspondent virtue, and was obviously met with hostility.

Some of the seven Virtues and Sins are now permanently unable to supervise the dungeon, and so they were replaced by golems who are under the command of Core. Their incapacitation did not change much of anything within the dungeon, as their strength exponentially grew.

Lust could still normally function as long as she was accompanied by Chastity. The two became even more inseparable than before.

There was also Pride, who seemed to not really have changed that much, other than her desire to surpass Deva.

The other Sins are dangerous when left alone in the open, so Core acted, and built for each of these Sins a room suitable to restrain them or keep them distracted.

On the other hand, on the Virtues' side, only Charity is kept under control, as the other Virtues' condition were not as bad as those of the Sins.

...

"Deva, are you not going to help them? They are suffering." Core sighed, she already knew the answer.

"I won't, the only thing I can help them with is to satiate their own desires."

"I'm not talking about that, I'm talking about killing them." Core said.

Deva blankly watched the void for several minutes before saying, "That will surely liberate them from their sufferings..." Deva's eyes seemed to be empty, but Core could sense that there was a sense of sadness within them. "I'll be the one ordering them to die, it is the only possible way so that there won't be any harm around them..."

"But you have to choose, you are the one responsabile for this and so you are the one to choose whether they'll continue to live with their new conditions or feel that it is too much for them to live like this for eternity." Core sternly said, "No, we already that you already made a choice, but is this really the future you chose for them? This is...too much..." Core attempted to persuade Deva, "They accompanied us for years, they are our friends and companions. Don't you-"

"Enough." Deva interrupted Core. "You really like to play around, don't you?" Deva smiled. "While you can hide from me your emotions and thoughts, I can still feel that these aren't your true feelings." Deva caressed the cheek of Core. "You want to make me feel something by your words, right? It seems you really enjoy making me feel any kind of emotion as long as those actions came from you." Core leaned to the warmth of the hand on her cheek. "Congratulations, " Deva whispered into Core's ear. "You are making me feel guilty and even worse than a worm." For a moment, Deva trembled, which was something that Core didn't miss.

"Deva," And Core didn't let such weakness go by, "How can this be your fault, you did not know that would happen." Core wrapped her arms around Deva in a comforting manner. "I'm here, you can let go of everything." Core knew what buttons to push in order to make others feel in a certain way. She learned, after all, from Deva herself.

It did not matter whether it was Deva's fault or not, since Deva won't get any kind of repercussion. No matter of event will befall, Deva will be always the one enjoying it.
