The races (Dark elves)

Oh hello again. I know, I know you want me to tell you more about the races right? Well let's begin again with the dark elves. Wait... are you rolling your eyes at the thought that I would have to explain a dark elf? No don't just skip my explanation of their race! You summons don't understand anything! Let me guess, you think a dark elf is just an elf that's black, and worships a demon god right? Well you're wrong! Wrong I say, let me tell you why!

The Dark elves were originally considered offshoots of Elves, but that was proven false by the man known as the "Highest Elf". He claimed that they weren't of his mother's descent and his father agreed with the statement. Also the first dark elf Dekos claimed that the only reason they are similar is because of their culture. Regardless of how they came to be they are one of the two races that we demons have no instinctual counter for.

In dark elf culture it is rather common for them to revere parts of nature and abhor other parts. For example they have almost no reverence for plants or other living things but they do have it for the earth and its minerals. Funnily enough they are caretakers of a plant known as the world tree which is a second stage god. Their magic reflects their dirt loving nature and allows them to easily mine and craft. As such they are extremely talented craftsman and can manipulate the materials they work with. All of these things add up and result in an extremely prosperous race that can be found in nearly every country.

In Dekos, a country named after the first dark elf, they have extremely advanced technology that leads the world in manufacturing. Dekos also is where the world tree is kept, and because of it; mine's are replenished by ambient mana; workers feel less strain on their bodies and minds; their birth rates are boosted; and they are given a weak additional healing factor. These things are only possible because of that tree, and without it the world would be very different.

The World Tree is technically a 2nd stage god, but it is just as advanced as your average houseplant. Earlier when I said it was being "taken care of" I meant it might as well be a hostage that gleefully complies with everything their abductor wills. It's not like it's not intelligent because it does have an ego, it's just way too stupid. For example it gladly will give away its saps, branches, and bark even though it might as well be its blood, limbs, and skin. Plus when ignored it threatens to kill itself and had tried on many occasions, to top it all off it has literally followed Dekos the nation around the world. Just to reiterate what I said, this nation has up and moved many times to ditch that tree but it somehow managed to follow them. I just don't understand how or why that tree follows them even when it's abandoned on many different occasions... I'll end it with that little tidbit.

I guess I'll talk about their magic. Dark Elven magic is mostly centered around manipulation of minerals, and whatever else they pour their mana within. Enchanting is the domain of the dark elves. By pouring large amounts of mana into an object with an intent whilst crafting it will permanently change the properties of said object. They can change small plots of land with very little effort, and for some reason unknown to even them, summon the roots of the world tree.

Their ranks go from Sun Sighter, Sun Lover, Sun Dweller, Sun King, Miner, Iron, Copper, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Mine Lord, Mine King, Tree Slayer. I think the reason they named their highest feasible rank Tree Slayer is because of their hatred for that tree, or it's because the Saint rank kinda sounds weird for their dirt loving culture. Henceforth they renamed it after the first man who chopped the World tree down... Oh if you're wondering because of its godhood it is basically impossible to kill it... I tried really friggin hard to kill that thing, they said if I could kill it they'll help us wipe out all of humanity. I later learned they had a spiritual contract with Huma to help them if ever asked, because Argent the Devil lopped that thing down in one swing... How?

Back to the topic I have nearly no idea where I should begin when it comes to most notible being of their race. I guess I'll use the current Dekos, or the king of Dekos. Their king's called the same thing as their founder, and the country how fun... Dekos is a Tree Slayer, and he has really revolutionized their healthcare system. Like the elves their lives are naturally very short, with their typical lifespan being 70-170 years. But the elves can bathe in the blood of a sky dweller and have their lifespan drastically increased, while the dark elves don't have such luck. Instead they must feast on the flesh of the world tree, however much they hate it, which will increase their lifespan by about 1-3 thousand years. Let's see what else did he do?... Oh that's right he also made it legal for Elves to immigrate into their country. After which he found a woman whom he fell in love with, but she hid her race and was a elf not a dark elf. So he still had kids with her and loves her, I mean she is RN still his mistress, but they can't be married because the racial difference. Which they both are trying to fix, but he still has to find a stand-in to temporarily mary. Outside of his marital issues he is an outstanding craftsman, father, and leader who commands the trust of more or less all of his nation.
