Chapter Eight: Preparations

In order to ensure her movement around the area and outside was easier, Angie hired a car as her final business for the day. The car was different from her normal picks. She chose a family car. A minivan. Grey in color. Not so flashy as per the norm.

Following this, she was super exhausted and needed sufficient rest. This is mainly because she was 100% sure the following day was going to be more taxing generally. Emotionally. Physically. Psychologically. Every which way you can think about.

As always, by quarter past 5 the following morning, Angie was up and ready to begin her day. Firstly, she started with an intense workout to keep fit and plan her day. Secondly, with the knowledge that she would be operating from the area for the foreseeable future, Angie made the decision to do some shopping. This is in a bid to ensure everything she needed would be readily available. By midday, she was done with shopping and decided to not only take a breather but also make some calls.

As a test, she first called Purity just to ask on the progress on house hunting. Immediately the phone was connected, Purity sighed with relief and started filling Angie in on how the same lady (Ashley) that had come asking for her came back the previous day furious that she had missed her.

How she knew Angie had been there was still a mystery to Purity but not to Angie. For this reason, Purity felt that even if she found her (Angie) a house, it would still put her in danger. This is mainly because Purity had heard Ashley specifically give orders to five or so men to do a thorough search not just in neighbouring hotels and motels but also residential areas where the motel's staff lived.

Ashley was pretty sure one of the Secretive motel's employees had helped Angie. "The juiciest part of yesterday's happenings is that, the lady (Ashley) was angry, cross and upset with Tyson," Purity continued.

She kept on saying it was all his fault. The other employees could not understand why or what was going on. But Angie did. From this information, Angie knew she could at least trust Purity.

The next call to Zed also proved what she already knew. To be precise, Zed informed her that the arrest she saw was stage managed. He was even surprised to learn that Brandon, the long lost Sniper was back in town and closely associating with her best friend Ashley and fiancé Marcus if she still considered them such.

Zed also informed Angie that, the trio (Brandon, Ashley and Marcus) also came back to see him. Their main purpose was bribing Zed. They offered to pay him handsomely if they could write a new will and claim it was written by Angie and he certifies it.

On his declining their offer, Brandon became very upset and told him his days on earth were numbered. "There was really something off about him," Zed said. Feeling relieved that she could also trust her lawyer, Angie thanked him and asked Zed to be careful. As an afterthought, Angie also told Zed she would be sending someone who would need his full support and assistance in learning the ropes and running of things.

The last call to Bree was brief as Angie was updated on the state of things in the company. Bree also told Angie that, she only had until the following day to sign the Amazon contract and start working on delivering the required products. This had Angie wondering whether Ashley, Marcus and 'the brother' had gotten to her since it seemed that Bree also wanted her to get back to the scene soonest possible.

Angie asked Bree to stall them (Ashley, Brandon and Marcus) a little more as she works things out and prepares to come back. Just like the lawyer, she also told Bree that she would be sending someone to run things as she works on learning more about her enemies.

Lastly, Angie called the private investigator. From him, Angie learnt that what he had discovered was very juicy. Saying that he still needed the day and some hours the following day to finalize on his research and confirm a few things. The final report would only take at most an hour or so.

Hearing this, Angie was relieved and hopeful. Her mind was already working a hundred miles per minute. She then told the Private investigator that he ought to send the her the report the following day in the evening without fail. Finished or not.

Once Angie finished her conversation with the investigator, she again dipped the burner phone in water and disposed it off in the nearby lake. She then went back to unpacking and arranging the things she had bought in the new house. Accompanying her was some soft rock music. Not giving her rest, her brain kept playing and replaying her return to Lincolin the following day.

She was definitely looking forward to the game to be set in motion. And things to unfold. For contingencies, Angie hoped she would be fast enough. Both in thought and retaliation. Because one wrong move, and she would be out for real this time round.
