{Meanwhile...in the Ascendant Realm...}
"Myridermas! Myridermas!" a voice rang out to someone named Myridermas.
"Ah, Arta. What made you so concerned?" Myridermas said in a calm manner.
"It's Erzibolt Fairwind, she's dead!" Arta said.
Myridermas's face became concerned as well. Erzibolt Fairwind, an elf that showed great potential in elemental magic at the moment she was born. Along the fact she grows quickly and is talented among her peers.
For her to die when she was a young adult elf, attaining the hero status and receiving her blessing, someone of greater power must be able to do this.
"Who killed her? Let me say that the thing earlier was already dead, thanks to Solufreya's efforts." Myridermas stated.
"No. It's a dragon in a humanoid form assisted by multiple beasts and a couple of Hellkins." Arta said. Arta brings out an orb. Myridermas looks to see that a dark-skinned woman with wings and tail decapitating Erzibolt.
"Not only we have one, but two Tyrants along the fact we've lost three heroes in a few days." Myridermas said. "What about that humanoid dragon?"
"After killing Erzibolt when she begged the dragon to spare the citizens, it flew straight into the Virdana Forest where the kingdom resided and it waited there. When the sun began to set, it flew to the mountains to hide from the elves." Arta said. "At night, it returned to that same forest and vanished."
"I also must add that the deaths of the citizens of Velizar and Virdana did not happen yet." Arte added.
"I see..." Myrdermas said, stroking his beard. "Thank you for your report, Arte. If you find any information from that dragon, relay it to me."
Arte bowed and vanished in a platinum light. Myridermas clenched his fists, visibly affected by the death of Erizbolt.
"The rapid succession of hero deaths and the rise of tyrants, the balance is soon to shift. However, as long as that thing isn't involved, it can be manageable." Myridermas said. "I must find another one capable."
{Now, in the Material Realm...}
The sun rises again and everyone wakes up and starts their day. I also sleep in the same room in this village like everyone else.
*Boop!*
I feel something nudge at my cheek multiple times that I woke up slowly to see Fennec sitting next to me.
"Morning, Fennec." I smiled and pat her head. Fennec jumps off of the bed and ran to the door, but stood there; she is waiting for me.
I got up and walked with Fennec to Hyoran's room and felt a wave of cold, sharp air cutting at my body.
The room was being covered in a thin layer of ice, the air so cold, mist formed from around her. Any insects, reptiles, or anyone without proper warmth would either suffer or freeze to death.
Hyoran is in the bed twisting and turning, panting and grunting as if she was in pain.
"I know she is mutating, but this is also evolution." I said. "This is too soon."
"Ugh..." Hyoran began groaning, clutching her chest tightly and gritting her teeth.
*Fwoom!*
Moments later, I see bluish flames appearing , but not the same blue flames that is like the color of Ashley's scales or the color of the skies. It is the color of ice.
"Frostfire...retaining the form of fire while keeping the properties of ice." I thought.
Frostfire is a rare type of magic that can freeze like ice and spread like fire. It first deals Fire damage and then Ice Damage over time. Also, having immunity with either Fire or Ice can only protect half of the damage it deals.
Additionally, this magic can inflict Slow to make them easier targets, Frostbite for reduced DEF, Ice, Wind, and Water Resistance by 10%, stacking 10 times. And when the eleventh hit occurs, the target is frozen, increasing the damage taken from Frostfire.
As I am seeing this now, the cold air is getting stronger by the minute.
"Kain, step back. It's dangerous." Tuya said, pulling me back.
"This is what your great-great grandmother, Natia had, right?" Ezo said.
"Yes, it was that one time when she had a Fire-Type Lycanian. Instead of having either one of the two magics, she had a rare type of flame called Frostfire." Tuya said. "We can only wait for her to finish."
*Fwoom!*
The icy flame envelops her and the frost spreads faster than before.
[Attention. Hyoran is undergoing evolution and mutation.]
[Warning. Extreme cold is spreading. Evacuate.]
"It's spreading. Everyone out!" Tuya said.
We ran out of the hut and warned the other villagers about Hyoran, including Olken.
"She's evolving AND mutating!?" Olken shouted.
"Yeah, and she is surrounded by the Frostfire. I can't even go near her." Tuya said, clutching her fists. Ezo held her hand as a sign to comfort her.
"Whatever comes at her, she pulls through. She got our tenacity, right?" Ezo said.
Inside Hyoran's room, the Frostfire grows stronger and began pulsating. It could either be a breakthrough or a catastrophe waiting to happen.
{Hyoran's POV...}
Ever since my brother was laying on the ground, dying in front of me from a being that Arex came from, the Beast Transformation kicked in and my focus is to save him. Just when I got close, my body was pushed down.
I tried to go forward, but something was stopping me. I cried and pleaded that he would be spared, but that being killed him without remorse and vanished.
Despite the weapon he made for me, despite the rank I have, I was powerless. Even the time when a Giant Colorless Slime attacked and the time I had to run to leave it all to him when the bandits attacked.
When he resurrected, it was as if a miracle happened. I was happy, but the sight of him dying in my arms still remained. It also gave me a thought what if he dies again and never resurrects?
I may be older than him, but he's more mature than me. Maybe too mature.
I don't want to stay as the helpless little girl. I refuse to. I must become strong to fight beside him.
Be it a person, monster, or beings of different realms, I refuse to watch him die.
