Escaped

“I was there when it happened”

Laura’s eyes widened. It felt like her world slowed down after hearing Timothy’s confession.

“W-What happened?”

“A-are you okay?”

“Y-you’re okay right?”

“Y-you didn’t get hurt?”

Her questions out of curiosity piled up, waiting for him to answer. He didn’t hesitate to tell her because concealing the truth won’t give him and other people any benefits but troubles and problems instead.

“I was on my way to give you your study notebook back that I heard strange noises from a distance when I was walking along the corridors.”

“I was curious and went to check it and found out that the noise came from two people in the remote area of the bookshelf corridors.”

”I tried peeking and saw a woman lying down with a guy on top of her. He was do-“

”W-wait a minute.”

Laura waved her hands in front of Timothy distracting him from continuing his story. He got confused as to why she stops her and gives her a look wanting an explanation for what she did.

“Why? What’s wrong?”

He gave him an innocent look which triggered her. She thinks that he’s acting innocent to provoke her when in fact, she concluded the sentence wrong.

“I thought we were talking about the news?”

Laura exclaimed, she was disappointed on Timothy for even opening it up to her. He soon realizes what she meant and it made him chuckle a bit which made Laura raise her eyebrows at him.

“Why are you laughing?”

He tried his best in controlling his laughter and as well his best to point out her misunderstanding from what he said.

“You totally misunderstood the context. Can you please let me finish first?”

Laura felt embarrassed after hearing his statement. She lowered her head to hide from the embarrassment of thinking way ahead and way out of context. She signaled him to continue his story still with her head down, earning a smile from Timothy before continuing.

”Okay, where was I?”

”Oh right, so the man that was on top of her had his head buried on her neck.”

”At first I thought they were doing something hideous, but after he lifted his head my assumption disappeared.”

”His mouth was covered with blood and he had fangs as long as of a beast.”

”His eyes were crimson red and he had his veins popped out on his temples.”

Laura didn’t want to believe what Timothy just said. But the way he delivers it and the look on his eyes have sincerity encoded in it.

“He called himself a vampire after I asked him.”

”He was about to pounce me but luckily I was saved by the ray of sunlight the shined in front of me. Forcing him to back out from me.”

”That’s why I was able to survive from his attack.”

Timothy scanned Laura’s expression and saw that it had mixed emotions all over it. As much as he wants her to believe, he doesn’t have any solid evidence that what he said happened.

“I know it’s sounds impossible but I tell you it’s all real.”

The words that came out from her mouth was not the words that he expected. His self doubt vaporized as soon he heard Laura’s statement, which also sent shivers down his spine.

“I-I remembered what my grandmother said about supernatural creatures. I didn’t know they were real.”
