Chapter 44: San Francisco Starlight Facility

Willis shut the door with a click. Landon had all but passed out a few minutes before. He hated how relieved it made him. There were voices in the lobby so he followed them. He wasn’t too thrilled about it. His hands itched again.

“Come on, Devin. You have to eat something,” Clint sounded like he had already said it a few times.

Willis came in and took a seat on the couch Tucker had tucked himself into. He watched Clint and Devin sit up to the coffee table a few feet away. They had a bowl of chopped strawberries. Clint popped another one into his mouth, holding one out to Devin.

“It’ll make you feel better,” Clint was almost shoving the berry into the other’s mouth.

A moment later Devin’s mouth opened enough for the strawberry.

Willis nudged Tucker, “did you eat anything?”

Tucker ignored him.

“He said he wasn’t hungry,” Clint said, “and I’m already dealing with one whiny child.”
