Chapter 45: San Francisco Starlight Facility

Dallas cut the rope on the second bundle of mattresses. He didn’t want to have to be out longer than necessary so he brought them in threes then cleared out a few shelves at a home store of blankets. There were more things they would need, but this was a start.

“Do you think they’ll care who gets which blankets?” Willis asked as he ripped off the tags on a quilt.

"I don’t know. Maybe you should just let them choose.”

“I’m pretty sure that would end in another fight.”

Dallas picked up one of the mattresses, “I’m going to start moving these, but don’t worry. They’re not going to be upset with you over blankets,” he left Willis to contemplate on his own.

They had already cleared out six offices. All of them were the same empty space but Willis hoped he could make them feel like less of a cage. He separated the blankets by textures then color. There were quite a few, more than they needed. He started to make a pile he knew Tucker would like. That was easy.
