Chapter 48: San Francisco Starlight Facility

Devin had let Clint pull him along easily. His thoughts were still struggling to keep up, but he knew something was wrong. He looked back at Landon’s door. A yearning in his chest grew each passing second to be in there. It had been the first time in a long time Devin had been that close to his brother.

Tucker led them to his room instead of Devin’s, “my room’ll be better.”

His tone made Devin’s skin itch. Tucker knew what was going on. Devin had the feeling everyone else knew what was going on. They set him down on the mattress, plopping down on either side.

“Landon?” Devin whispered, he needed to know.

Clint tried to reassure him, “he’s fine.”

Tucker huffed, rolling his eyes.

“Landon is fine.”

“No. He’s not.”

Devin locked eyes with Tucker, “why?”

“Don’t,” Clint snapped, “this isn’t the time.”
