Chapter 114: Tokyo Hell (X) - The Entrance to Mt. Fuji

[Zadkiel's POV]

"Looks like this is the place that Lord Freyja said." Zadkiel along with Jophiel and Cassiel are somewhere else far from the city, specifically in front of them is Japan's highest mountain which is Mt. Fuji.

The mountain is one of the places where people worship the Japanese Gods and it is also one of the places where the Gods of Japan are residing right now.

Freyja's mission was to look for a way to enter the space that was in Mt. Fuji where the Eve Miyu Kishimoto and Amaterasu are at.

It was nerve-wracking for them, even if there's three of them fighting the Japanese Goddess of the Sun Amaterasu they know that they don't stand a chance against her.

Just reflecting that they almost lost to Azrael alone is proof for them that they have no chance to defeat the Leader God of Japanese Mythology.

With them only being an Archangel whose position is lower to the titles such as the Four Archangels of Yahweh and Seraphim, their strength isn't powerful enough to defeat a God even if there are three of them.

Zadkiel gripped his sword from anxiousness, he was both angry with himself and his luck because of what happened today. He felt that luck has been his enemy ever since he went here to Japan, not only his group with Uriel, Azrael, and Cassiel has torn apart but also Azrael has now been marked as a traitor by the Gods.

His relationship with Azrael who he thought has been getting better has now turned into a hostile one. Zadkiel knew that he failed to stop this when he didn't decide on which side he would choose.

What bothered him is that he doesn't know which one is the correct side, is it Uriel's were he'll apprehend Luna to ensure his loyalty to the Gods is not a joke? Or is it Azrael's where he'll help him save Luna but would be branded as a traitor?

Zadkiel has already lost is loyalty to Yahweh when he found out what he was doing but his loyalty remained to his mother Asherah, his mother wanted him to fulfill his dream to make peace between demons and angels but to do that he would have to remain by Yahweh's side.

So joining Azrael's side is a no go but he doesn't want to join Uriel's side because doing so would make things worse for him and Azrael.

He looked at Cassiel who was staring intently at the mountain. 'I forgot... There's still Cassiel's side...' Zadkiel looked at the mountain with a face filled with guilt, he knew that what Cassiel said is wrong but he doesn't know what to do with it.

"Then... I have to kill Miyu Kishimoto to become one aren't I?" That's what he asked Cassiel when they were still in Heaven.

He knew that becoming a Hero would up his chances to make that dream of his a success, but by doing so he would have to do something that an Archangel shouldn't do... Kill a human.

When he studied about the Eve Miyu Kishimoto he found out that she was just an innocent child, in devil age she the same age as the Princess of Hell Millie Hotaru, not only that but when Zadkiel saw what life Miyu has he could only be reminded of Millie.

Even if she was young she has high intellect that no children around her age should have, but what makes her the same as Millie is her social life. Zadkiel saw that Miyu was bullied for being different than the people around her, that goes around for Millie too, all her life is filled with discrimination due to her being an adopted child of the King and Queen.

Despite Millie being a devil and Miyu being a human they weren't different from one another, if someone saw them together everyone would think that the two are sisters.

Which is why Zadkiel is afraid to kill Miyu Kishimoto, because Miyu reminded him of Millie.

"Is there something wrong Zadkiel?" Jophiel was looking at Zadkiel worriedly, she saw that he was thinking something deep which made her curiousity rose. "What's on your mind? You know that you can tell me, right?"

"Nothing... I was just thinking on how we're gonna succeed..." He gave her a forced smile which made Jophiel more worried, while Cassiel was staring at Zadkiel with seriousness.

"Hmm... I see..." Cassiel smiled smugly as she stares at Zadkiel in the eyes mischieviously. "Then, lets go inside then..!"

Seeing Cassiel's face he knew that she was up to something he wouldn't expect, looking at the mountain now he became worried after seeing the smug smile of Cassiel 'I hope I could decide inside with ease without Cassiel's disturance...'

The three ran through hallway to hallway; they stopped at every room they encountered and inspected every side of it to make sure that there's no hidden passage to the room.

It was creepy, even Archangels like Zadkiel and Jophiel could only find the hallways like a scene from a horror film, but it wasn't creepy liek they're afraid but more like it was odd.

The entrance of the mountain has no guard at all which didn't mind them at first but as they walk inside the inside of the mountain they found it odd that there's no guards inside too.

The place was empty and clean, not even a small amount of dust can be found on every room they went in, even the air was clean with no sign of it being poisoned to stop them from coming.

Neither traps nor an alarm was set to stop them, instead it was just plain emptiness... For the two Archangels it felt like they were being welcomed by someone.

'Does the Gods know we're here? But how though? We made sure to never harm the barrier that was around the entire moutain, not only that but Lord Freyja gave us something to conceal ourselves to the vision of a God, so there's no way the the Gods here would know that we're here...' Those were the thoughts on Zadkiel and Jophiel's mind, they knew that the spell that Freyja gave them works because when they used them back on Heaven not even powerful Gods like Zeus couldn't detect them from coming, which is why they think that there's no way the Gods here would know that they entered.

But they felt it, even if they knew there's no way a God could see them they could still feel the feeling of being spied on. They don't know where the person spying on them is but they have the gut feeling that it can only be a powerful God who would do this.

They saw that both Susanoo and Tsukuyomi are on the city fighting their soldiers, so they have two guesses on who it could be. It was either the Japanese Goddess of the Sun Amaterasu or their oldest sibling the Japanese God of Fire Kagutsuchi.

Out of all the Japanese Gods that was revealed to be alive, Kagutsuchi was teh only one that they haven't seen personally even Freyja who investigated the mountain first didn;t find a single clue on where the God Kagutsuchi is.

Just by thinking about it, the two realize that Kagutsuchi has a high chance to be here with them right now, they knew that Amaterasu was doing the ritual to remove Miyu's position as a candidate and while she is doing that she can't use any of her skills because the ritual would stop once she did so.

Which meant the one spying on them was none other than the eldest sibling of the three Gods of Japan, the Japanese God of Fire Kagutsuchi.

As the three kept running on the hallway they saw a door that have a weird energy coming out of it, seeing it they knew that this was the way to the ritual of Miyu Kishimoto.

Cassiel looked at the other two with suspicion at the door. "Hmm... Do you think that this is a trap?"

"No, it couldn't be..." Jophiel answered, but it made Cassiel skeptical of the door more while Zadkiel kept looking at his back to confirm that no one was following them.

The door was leaking out a lot of mana; so many that only a God could produce, which is why Jophiel is sure that this was the location in where the ritual is taking place.

The three looked at each other in nervousness to decide to whether open the door or not, because this could be a trap for them, but for Jophiel it was impossible to be a trap because it's weird that this is the only trap laid out for them.

While Zadkiel and Cassiel are both doubtful because anyone with common sense would know that this might be a trap, after all the door is already suspicious from that large mana leaking out of it.

"Let's just open it to check and we could just use Cassiel's shield to block the trap." Zadkiel said nervously. "So, who'll open it?"

The two Archangels looked at him with their eyes filled with disappointment, just looking at them made Zadkiel cry from shame.

Just from the look they were giving him he understood what they are saying. 'Isn't it supposed to be you?' That's what their stares said.

"*Sigh*" He reached for the knob of the door and stared at it anxiously, he gulped and slowly turned the knob.

The door let out a loud creak as it opened slowly and in front of them was a giant arena where they saw Amaterasu sitting on the middle of the arena with her eyes closed, beside her was a stone table that the Eve Miyu Kishimoto was laying on.

Amaterasu slowly opened her eyes and smiled as she stares at the three Archangels with joy. "I have expected for you to come here Archangels of Yahweh, please be polite and remove your shoes as you enter the arena."

The three were filled with fear as she said that to them, they were frozen in place due to her frightening stare.

But what made them fear the most is that she has expected them to come, which meant that the one spying at them was not Kagutsuchi but her.

"If I may ask... How did you know that we're coming when you're doing the ritual?" Jophiel asked her nervously.

Zeus was more powerful than they're Lord Yahweh and when they used the spell given to them that would make them undetected Zeus couldn't see them, and base on the information they have of Amaterasu they knew that she was not as powerful as Zeus.

But seeing that she detected them, it made them doubt that she was not as strong as Zeus, because how could she detect them while Zeus can't? It doesn't make sense for the three at all, but seeing how they are afraid of her without good reason they now knew.

Amaterasu is a God that shouldn't be compared to others.

"How? That's because I just can, my position as the Leader God of Japan isn't a joke, if I can't break down a small spell that you three used then my position as a Leader would just be a lie."

They were shaken when they said that, even someone who almost lacks emotions like Cassiel could feel the deep pressure of fear from her.

Cassiel looked at Zadkiel and Jophiel and the two did the same, she contacted them via eye contact that said. 'I'll guard you against from any harm, just do what you are tasked here for Zadkiel.'

Zadkiel nodded nervously and looked at Amaterasu who was still looking at them with a joyful smile; sweat were coming out and his heart started to beat fast, he clenched his hand and ran toward Amaterasu as fast as he can. "Even in a place where no one can escape; with decisions that could cause your beloved family's life, whether or not those may came upon you I'm here to set you free, as the embodiment of freedom itself I have called upon you. Tzadkiel!" A dagger bright as a light appeared on his hand, he trusted it toward Amaterasu and broke the barrier that was guarding her and Miyu.

Amaterasu smiled when she saw the Archangel Zadkiel breaking her barrier easily. "So this is the famous dagger of Archangel Zadkiel..."

Tzadkiel, the true dagger of Zadkiel. It has a blade sharp enough to cut anything even the flesh of a God or an unbreakable barrier, this dagger was used by Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac to Yahweh in the past and is now on Zadkiel's hand.

With this knife that symbolizes his virtues, he could cut through anything, even if that thing was created by the most powerful God ever.
