Beast Tamer

"What the hell is going on here? This is Golden Dragon City and not your homeland!" The leader of the guards yelled with a loud voice. He was a strong middle-aged man dressed in golden armor and had a saber tied to his left hip.

"The Zhen Clan's young master was harassing my Divine Fairy Sect's two disciples and almost forcefully kissed the girl!" The elderly woman explained angrily.

The leader of the guards looked at the Zhen Clan's elder for his response.

"The Divine Fairy Sect has been too arrogant lately. They dare to ignore and be rude to my young master! They are just youths, maybe Young Master Zhen just went a little over the line... Why don't we just let this slide?" The Zhen Clan elder smiled like he was in the right here.

The guard was troubled because they were both powerhouses with great power. Even though the royal family was stronger than them, it didn't mean that they could ignore everything.

"Nothing happened here so I can let this one slide." The leader of the guards chose to follow what the Zhen Clan elder said as he didn't want any trouble.

The elderly woman was indignant but chose to let it go because she didn't want to cause further trouble for her Divine Fairy Sect, a lot of their power came from others.

All of them dispersed and they continued on their way to the Demonic Beast Forest.

"Ling Tian, you did a great job back there, I almost lost my arm! I didn't expect that redhead to be so vicious..." Young Master Zhen thanked him with a grin.

"No worries, Young Master Zhen. as a bodyguard, that's what I should be doing!" Ling Tian humbled himself. This could be an opportune moment to gain some acquaintances and have some influence.

He didn't want to solve everything using his borrowed power from his main body. If he used a body with higher cultivation to solve his problems, it wouldn't be fun, would it?

They finally arrived at the Demonic Beast Forest. They stood outside and took in the view, the forest oozed danger and you could feel your instincts telling you to be cautious.

"Before we go in, I want all of you to restrict your cultivation to the Core Formation realm and only use your Nascent Soul cultivation if an enemy with a higher level comes by or if I'm in danger." Young Master Zhen instructed. He realized he was a little behind his other acquaintances and friends as a 15-year-old and did not want to become weaker than them.

As Nascent Soul realm cultivators, the bodyguards naturally had more sophisticated stealth simply because of the higher cultivation gap. The bodyguards were told beforehand to hide in the surrounding environment away from the demonic beasts' sight as to not scare off the demonic beasts that would create a battle experience for Young Master Zhen.

They went in and after 2 minutes of walking around the outskirts, a Core Formation 9th stage Lightning Horned Panther pounced on Young Master Zhen who was at the front of the group.

Young Master Zhen may not have a lot of experience fighting beasts but as the young master of the Zhen Clan, what he did not lack was the teaching and resources.

He first sidestepped and diagonally pierced forwards 3 times with his sword at the beast's heart with the Three-Pronged Wind Strike Sword Art. The sword art was the Zhen Clan's most prized killing technique, it aimed for the vitals and attacked three times in quick succession to dish out the most damage in a short amount of time to kill quickly.

The beast was hit only once because it reacted quickly and backed away right after it realized it didn't hit Zhen Hai.

The wound was only 3 inches deep but struck the lungs and now the panther was breathing heavier and gazed ferociously at the human who dared to wound it.

The panther roared and gathered lightning qi around its horn and sent a bolt of lightning straight towards Zhen Hai.

Zhen Hai tried to block it with his sword horizontally but it flowed through the sword and lightning qi coursed through his body and made him convulse.

Some blood dripped at the side of his mouth and that made him angry. With red eyes from fury, he dashed forwards and used his Three-Pronged Wind Strike but the panther once again backed off and launched another lightning bolt after two seconds, and Zhen Hai was further hurt.

Ling Tian realized things were going south and cut a rift in space and went through to save Young Master Zhen from his predicament. He kicked the beast just in time before it struck Zhen Hai again and gave Zhen Hai a healing pill before his wounds turned lethal.

Ling Tian realized that the Zhen Clan elder in the shadows would not interfere unless absolutely necessary.

'It appears that the Zhen Clan is ruthless when it came to the training of the clan members that they are willing to let some die if they're not good enough...' Ling Tian thought as he looked at Zhen Hai.

Ling Tian put down a formation that blocked the Lightning Horned Panther from running away and also pinned it down with his gravitational force that oppressed it.

He healed the panther with another healing pill from his pill bottle to give it a fair chance against Zhen Hai. This was a realistic training experience for Young Master Zhen so he decided to take it upon himself to help Zhen Hai with his training.

If he helped him train, it would surely make Young Master Zhen want to be friends and acquaintances with him. That would help his disciple experience in the future with his influence from the Zhen Clan...

After they were both healed and Zhen Hai recovered, Ling Tian explained to Zhen Hai on what to do to increase his battle sense.

"Young Master Zhen, to battle, you need to be cautious and calculating, plus, it's most important to not lose your cool during battles. I healed both of you so you could learn faster from a full fight, go ahead and fight the panther, and don't forget to always be one or multiple steps ahead of your enemy." Ling Tian instructed with a stern face.

"Thank you, Ling Tian!" Zhen Hai was touched and got up on his feet and dashed in a zigzag pattern. He feinted an attack to the right of the beast but attacked from its left after it fell for it.

All three attacks from the Three-Pronged Wind Strike Sword Attack shredded its body and vitals. It was left with three nasty sword thrust wounds but was still left alive.

The panther backed off and kneeled on the ground on its four legs. The Lightning Horned Panther released a beast-taming contract rune from its head.

"A beast-taming contract?!" Zhen Hai had his mouth open and was shocked and dumbfounded.

It was very rare for beasts to willingly release a beast-taming contract rune on their own without the individual's effort. Beasts are prideful and wouldn't want to become tamed beasts as that would signify that they were weaker than humans.

Beast tamers had to use special methods and give cultivation resources like spirit fruits or rare herbs out to the beast to gain favor. Even then, the beast could still not accept it after a long time. Even much weaker beasts would rather die than get tamed by a human,

So the Lightning Horned Panther willingly let the Zhen Hai that was equal to it in cultivation tame it without any previous favor was a rare occurrence.

A beast's instinct was much more pronounced than a human's. It allowed for it to sometimes make important decisions. In this case, it could feel that if it followed Zhen Hai, then it would surely reach higher heights than its current potential. It could even feel a certain something from Ling Tian but it did not know what it was.

Ling Tian sometimes let his real power alert him of things, and this time, he was let known that there was a link of destiny between the panther, Zhen Hai, and himself.

'Interesting, I actually did not expect that this would happen. Everything in this world has a fate and destiny, some are able to change it and bend it if certain events happen.' Ling Tian smirked.

He knew that this happened because of him. He was the god of the universe, and of course, he did not apply to this rule. He controlled everything, including fate and destiny.

Since he was here, that meant the fate and destiny of Zhen Hai and that panther changed.

Zhen Hai accepted the panther's plea and released a drop of blood onto the contract rune to complete the beast-taming process.

They both could feel an innate link between them and they could now tell where the other was from far away.

'Even though right now I'm living life as a disciple of a sect, it's not like I'm not looking for more disciples aren't I? This one shall take on the role of a beast tamer.' Ling Tian thought with a slight smile at the scene.

'I'll let him live his normal life for a little more while before I return back to my Master Persona...' Ling Tian nodded.

The bodyguards were frozen at this scene, and only recollected themselves and congratulated Young Master Zhen after the whole scene ended.

They all continued forward with Young Master Zhen gathering more experience and even fought as a beast tamer with his newfound Lightning Horned Panther by his side.

There were many different occupations such as a beast tamer or alchemist, and each occupation had its perks.

Being an alchemist allowed the individual to be respected and honored. They could create pills out of herbs for other people for money or for themselves.

Being a beast tamer allowed the individual to have a beast by his side which meant that they had another force of power to help them, and they were even allowed to fight with them at competitions with others because it was hard being one.

So besides being a cultivator, having another occupation on the side, allowed them to have an advantage over others if they were proficient enough at it.

Of course, there were different grades of an occupation, mainly from ranges of 1-9, 9 being the highest. However, there were actually more grades but that's for another time in the future.
