Chapter 48: Balisong

Chapter 48: Balisong

Runi, Kendra, and I instinctively ducked our heads.

When the guard that held my arm fell to the ground, I checked his neck. It was an all too familiar small knife that neatly pierced through where his major vein was located.

“Your Majesty, would you please kindly return my knife to me?”

I turned to see Salingbobong standing a few steps behind me. Runi collected all the knives and then handed it to him. He nonchalantly wiped all the blood with a black cloth.

I returned the knife I’m holding to him while Runi tended to Kendra who had been gripping her bleeding arm.

I say, “Salingbobog, thank you for all this. However.. bloody. Your knife...I remembered you throwing it at the General back at the mall.”

“It’s a balisong,” he said. “I learned to use it as part of my duty in protecting the Datu’s family.”

“Thank you, sir, but please we have to go! The President and the General are waiting outside of the city gates!” Kendra announced.
