Chapter 23: Grounded
Monday arrived. It is Stephen’s birthday, and I am really excited for his big night.
Although, of course, surprises were bound to happen before a big day.
Dana’s class is joining our P.E. Class with us because their teacher had to go to the veterinarian’s office to pick up her sick dog. The heaven knows how relieved I was not to have the same classes with her this year, but I wasn’t anticipating that for once, inevitable circumstances transpire.
“We should win the game today because I don’t want her to go around and describe us as losers,” I whispered to Christine while we’re doing warm-ups.
“Of course, we will, it’s just volleyball,” Christine replied while tying her hair up in a high ponytail. Good for my athletic friend who watches Solar Sports in her idle time. I am and always will be a total handicap when it comes to sports.
