Chapter 26: Brokenhearted

Chapter 26: Brokenhearted

I couldn’t break my heart even more, or else I’ll die behind the curtain.

I was wiping my tears before walking away while tucking my cakes to my chest.

I was grateful that I was wearing shades to hide my tears from everyone. I carried my boxes limply out of the backstage.

I saw Derek eating ice cream alone as soon I was out in the open.

“Hello, Derek.” I don’t know if he could still recognize me by my disguise.

He smiled, but he suddenly frowned, and he made a sign that I surprisingly understood despite of my ignorance with the sign language.

“No, I’m not crying.” I did some signs. “Um, here. I also baked something for you. You’re not allergic to chocolates, right?”

I didn’t make any sign, but I think he perfectly understands what I meant. I give my present. He created a sign to say thank you and then hew wrapped his arms around his waist.

He ran away with the boxes. Afterwards, I wiped my tears away.
