A Warning

Ai Zhiyi would never say that he had been scolding Chu Weixu lately; even argued with him often to handle his hardheadedness.

During this time, Ai Zhiyi learned Chu Weixu was a very tolerant man but also very unruly at times.

On the other side, Chu Xinian was silent for a moment. She plainly heard Ai Zhiyi's words, but she didn't respond at that instant and only took a sip of the soup very calmly.

But who knows? Behind her composure was like an ocean without waves that hold millions of mysteries.

No one knew what she was thinking.

A few seconds later, Chu Xinian asked in an indifferent tone, "Then, what about your relationship? Everything is okay, right?"

Ai Zhiyi didn't answer with words, only nodded his head.

Chu Xinian giggled. "As usual you always give the same response."

Chu Xinian didn't mean to ask such a question, was because she simply wanted to know the growth of their relationship whenever they hadn't seen each other for a long time.

Besides, Chu Weixu was her beloved little brother and Ai Zhiyi was Chu Weixu's beloved lover, so if anything were to happen, she thought it was her business as well.

During this time, she had never commented on anything, but this time she thought she needed to.

"You know how Chu Weixu is, right? He was very mischievous when he was a kid and very stubborn when he's grown up. Ever since he was in Elementary School, he wrecked our dad's car because his wishes weren't fulfilled; in High School, he broke the window in his room; and again, once he entered his freshman year of university, he has never come up but eloped with someone else. I think you know those scenes very well as I do, right?"

Recalling those memories, Ai Zhiyi lowered his gaze slightly while thinking that Chu Xinian was supposed not to be outspoken like now. Was it because of the matter she got today that put her in a bad mood or was she already feeling fed up with his drama?

Ai Zhiyi didn't ignore her words, he spoke with what he thought was true, "Absolutely yes. I've been with him for many years, so I'm the only one who knows the change." Ai Zhiyi smiled meaningfully, then continued, "He was a kid back then, so he would be a troublemaker. But now he's a grown-up, and he's not the snotty kid you imagined him to be. He keeps my words too, so he's good."

Ai Zhiyi gritted his teeth as he finished his sentence as if the meat in his mouth was the suffering he wanted to destroy. After all, Chu Weixu was indeed a troublemaker in the past, so even in the future, Ai Zhiyi wouldn't easily give up.

Ai Zhiyi had known Chu Weixu since they were kids, and started a relationship when they were teenagers, then rebelled when they were still in the same phase.

Both of them had been living independently since then. Running from their family, hiding somewhere, and then disappearing. When the hard times dampened, they were pinned into oblivion like a relic of the past that was worthless in the world.

Until Chu Xinian found them.

Fortunately, Chu Xinian was different from the rest of the Chu Family. She was the only one helping them, even begging her family to stop inconveniencing them. In the end, Ai Zhiyi and Chu Weixu could live more peacefully.

Ai Zhiyi showed a bitter smile. He wasn't comfortable with someone daring to sum up their stories. Yet since that person was Chu Xinian—someone he cherished and respected—he didn't want to cut the bond between them, so he could only maintain it by saying his words with refinement and respect.

Chu Xinian also didn't want to complain about anything, so she simply smiled, then said in a low voice, "Your words have some truth though." Her face painted a faint smile, said, "But you know what? If you and he are happy together then it makes me happy too. That's why I always ask you."

Although the hall was filled with a lot of noise from the crowd, the atmosphere between Ai Zhiyi and Chu Xinian felt quiet.

During the silence, Ai Zhiyi remembered something, so he asked hesitantly, "Um, have you visited Xiaoyu?"

Chu Xinian showed a faint smile and her face slowly looked more pleasant than before. "Of course. I came to him first. He's now almost five years old. A bit taller too. I can't recognize him that instant."

Ai Zhiyi was familiar with this mood, so he couldn't help but say with a smile, "Xiaoyu will enter Kindergarten after he turns five. I want to talk to Weixu about this later."

Hearing Ai Zhiyi say that confidently, Chu Xinian was surprised.

"For real? Are you sure?" Chu Xinian's eyes which had a beautiful glint abruptly turned dim. She had doubts about the decision, so she spoke with cold words, "Weixu will never agree to it—never. And no one can change his mind— even if it's you."

Chu Xinian stared at Ai Zhiyi as if in her eyes were the words "Don't expect such an impossible thought!" for a few seconds before she continued in a firm tone, "Probably if you say he obeys you over something else, I can believe you. But for this, you can trust me. If you still want your relationship to be okay, then never talk about Xiaoyu in front of him. You don't need to ask his opinion when it comes to Xiaoyu. That kid is innocent, so why do you need the opinion of someone who can't accept him?"

Ai Zhiyi was stunned for a second. He knew that Chu Xinian was trying to warn him at this time but he couldn't change his perception.

After all, Ai Zhiyi was also unsure of his thoughts. Even after he thought about it many times, he still never got a definite answer.
