Mr. Mirchandani was waiting for one of his employees in his office. He even asked his PA to check if Ms. Kashyap has arrived or not. Every time it was negative. He had personally sent her a mail yesterday regarding a meeting that is going to take place today.
Sometime later
Ms. Kashyap was late and sweaty as she stood in front of the building to catch her breath. She was never late for work. She always tried to be early at work. She was cursing her scooter and all the other problems she met on her way to work. She had to face her boss' wrath because she was expected to meet him today at 8 o'clock at work for some important project and now it was 10 o'clock two hours later than the meeting time. She was mentally preparing for the scolding of her boss.
She wouldn't be late if her scooter hadn't broken down in the middle of the road while she was going to work. She took her scooter to a nearby repair shop to have it checked. The guy told her that it would take some time to repair it as it had some technical issues. She didn't want to wait so she left her scooter at the shop for repair and decided to head for work in a taxi. She waited for taxis, they showed up but they had passengers with them already, it was a struggle to get a taxi but she managed to get one and hopped in. On the way to her work, there was an accident that blocked the whole way, there was no other way she could go to work. They had to wait for a very long time before everything got cleared. She couldn't call her work to inform me that she was going to be late. Her phone was not charged, she forgot to charge it and it had already died. She couldn't ask the driver for his phone as she didn't remember her boss' phone number. She was painstakingly waiting for the road to be cleared up. It looked like a big accident because there were quite a few ambulances at the scene present.
After a while, everything was cleared up at the accident spot and they took off. On the way to work, she was met with another traffic jam. She couldn't be late anymore so she paid the driver, got out of the car, and walked two blocks to reach her work because God knows how many hours this traffic jam was going to take to clear up. From all that walking she become a sweaty mess which she didn't like. It was morning for god's sake!
Entering the building she greeted the receptionist. The receptionist told her that the boss was waiting for her. She knew she couldn't do anything about this, she thanked the receptionist and went into the elevator.
Arriving on her floor she went straight to her boss' office as she couldn't delay a minute anymore. Otherwise, her boss would make a fuss. She greeted her boss' secretary and went straight inside his office after knocking at the door.
She had mentally prepared herself for the scolding she was going to get from her boss. She knew her boss is a chill person but if you do something that he doesn't like, for example, her being late for work, can be like a storm for her. Her boss is a perfectionist.
She entered and saw her boss sitting in his chair behind the desk. On the desk, both of his hands were clasped together and he was giving her an icy glare. She awkwardly smiled at him and she couldn't say good morning it felt as if the words were stuck in her chords.
She looked at him afraid and constantly she was saying in her mind action for the scolding to begin. But it didn't begin he glared at her only and she looked helplessly.
After mastering some courage, she finally managed to say, "Boss..."
But before she could speak her boss started speaking, "Is this the time to come to work?"
She shook her head from left to right.
"Start explaining why you are late and why you couldn't call and tell me that you would be late."
She built up some courage and started to narrate her story about what happened to her in the morning. And why she couldn't inform him about her situation.
After listening to her he finally spared her with a warning. After that, he offered her to sit so that he could discuss work with her.
She had been discussing work with her boss for over an hour. She remembered that she had a meeting with a client and she needed to prepare for it. She politely excused herself and went to her office.
Once reaching her office she started directly preparing for the upcoming meeting. Not long after one of her friends entered her office without knocking. It always ticked her off for that but she couldn't do much because he had a habit.
She glared at him and went to say, "You-
" Can't knock at the door and enter?" He finished for her. He gave her an amusing look because her glare couldn't harm him.
"If you know that then why can't you do it?" she asked him hotly.
He ignored her and ask the question that he was dying to ask. "How does it feel to be late, Ms little perfectionist?" he asked.
She gave him her famous glare and her silence in return. Because she knew she was going to waste her energy on him.
"Oh come on don't be so cold now."
She continued glaring at him and he understood she was not going to talk to him so he quietly left her office.
Once he was gone she sighed in relief. He was always a pain for her. He was friendly but annoying at the same time. She has a good bond with him but it's times like this when he tests her patience.
She didn't spare him another one of her precious thoughts and continued to prepare for her upcoming meeting.
