The Shopping Trip

Ladybug and Cat Noir hid in a nearby alley. "I hope Roland is okay." Ladybug said thinking of their new friend. "He seems pretty tough. I'm sure he can handle himself." Cat Noir reassured her. They began to strategize on how they would get on a plane to New York. It was very difficult because they would probably be recognized during the security check and arrested, as all the police in the city were looking for them. Cat Noir then came up with a plan. "I'll stop by the Gabriel's store and pick up some disguises for us, then no one will be able to recognize us when we get to the airport." "Are you sure going to your dad's store is a wise thing to do?" She said making a look at him. She knew that there would be posters of him all over the store and if he was recognized, there would be a big commotion. "It's the closest clothing store from here, we'll duck in with hoods over our heads and no one will recognize us. I'll buy some new outfits for us. Of course, if my credit card still is active." He said wondering if his Father would have cancelled his credit card, so that he would have no choice but to come back home. "Okay, let's go then. Spots off." Ladybug de-transformed in a glow of light and Cat Noir did the same. They pulled their hoods low over their faces and headed for the store.

Marinette stumbled a bit still struggling to walk, luckily Adrien held her up. When they entered the front door of the store, they were confronted with what Marinette expected, hundreds of posters of Adrien himself. Marinette blushed letting out a little squeal and Adrien made a nervous smile down at her. They simultaneously turned their heads away from the worker who was greeting the customers. They both picked out some glasses to wear and Marinette chose a blond wig for herself. Adrien got a black suit for himself and a hat while Marinette got a red dress and a pair of pretty shoes. They tried everything on and then headed to the counter to pay. "Did you find everything you needed today?" The young lady at the counter said with a flat, and uninterested tone. "Yes, thank you." Adrien replied nervously pulling out his card to pay. She mindlessly took the card and then realized the name of her customer. Her eyes went wide and she let out a piercing shriek which resounded throughout the entire store, causing everyone to stare in their direction. Adrien winced at what was coming next, he didn't want the whole store knowing that Gabriel Agreste's son was there. "Please don't tell anyone." Adrien said folding his hands. The lady at the desk was still in complete shock almost unable to breathe. She tried Adrien's credit card, but it was denied. This is what he was afraid of, of course Nathalie or his father cancelled his credit card. The lady didn't seem that concerned about it though as she happened to be smitten with her customer. "Since this is your dad's store,' she said quietly, 'You don't have to pay." Adrien was surprised he looked at her with a grateful smile. "Are you sure?" he asked. Marinette didn't have her wallet not to mention it was a steep price and she couldn't afford it. "Of course! Your dad gets the profits from the store, so it belongs to you too." Adrien was shocked to find this out, but happy none the less. The lady handed him the bag containing all of their items. Marinette tugged on Adrien's sleeve and they stopped in their tracks. "How are we going to buy plane tickets if your card doesn't work?" She asked with concern in her eyes. Adrien pondered her question for a moment then had an idea. "I think my dad has cash in the back of the store, I could borrow some of it since it technically is mine too?" He made a worried glance back at the desk where he could see the cashier still jumping in excitement. "Will they even let us back there?" Marinette asked. "Just watch me." Adrien said eying the woman at the desk. He walked back to her. "Excuse me Ma'am, uhh what's your name?" he asked. "Eeee, I'm Jill." She said nervously. "Jill, I have a favor to ask." He said removing his hood a bit more, enough to convince Jill that he really was Adrien Agreste. "Anything…" Jill said still slumping over the desk in awe. "Okay then," he said glancing nervously down at Marinette. "So, Jill, would my girlfriend and I be allowed in the back for a little bit. I left something here that my father needs." Marinette internally screamed at Adrien calling her his girlfriend! Was she actually? They hadn't really talked about it since all of the action started. Jill jumped up and made a face at Marinette of jealously that made her shrink, but then waved them back behind the desk. They followed Jill into the spacious back room of the store. "Walla!" Jill exclaimed. "The manager's office is right down there; He will have what you need." "Gulp," his father's store manager was a stern man who never seemed to like him. This wasn't going to be easy.
