A Close Call

Ladybug fell to her knees, was this the end? They were so close to leaving Paris and now this? She covered her face in despair. Then she had an idea, "Lucky Charm!" She said and a bag of chips flew into her hands. She wondered what chips could possibly do to get them out of the office. What's worse was that Obideeah was regaining consciousness. She glanced over at the destroyed desk and realized what she needed too. "Adrien help me find something to feed your kwami with." She said. Adrien rummaged through the drawers and shelves and came across a half-eaten lunch which conveniently had camembert in it. "Eat up hurry Plagg!" Plagg began to nibble on the cheese. All of a sudden, he heard a shriek from Ladybug. He quickly turned too see Obideeah back up and attempting to choke her with his arm. "Plagg I need to transform now!" He yelled. "Eating takes time!" Plagg grumbled. Ladybug tried to pull away from Obideeah but he was very strong. "What's the matter? Can't handle a seventh degree black belt?" He said tightening his hold around her neck and chest. She gasped trying to get some words out but all that came out was air. She then decided to play dead. She stopped struggling and went limp in his grasp. Obideeah realized this and loosened his grip a bit. Plagg finally finished his cheese and Adrien transformed. He knew what he had to do and ran past Obideeah and Ladybug "Cataclysm!" he shouted, destroying the door. "No!" Obideeah growled and Ladybug surprised him by kicking him down. He thought she was unconscious. "Hurry!" she shouted grabbing the bag of stuff they had bought and they both ran as fast as they could out of the store past the surprised workers and into the street. "This way!" Cat Noir pointed towards the direction of the airport and they both made the long journey to the airport and de-transformed. They ducked into the crowd and avoided the security officers at the place. They made their way to the bathroom stalls. Adrien went into the men's room and Marinette into the women's and they put on their disguises. She tried to clean her face a bit as she had a gash on her cheek from the original attack from Hawkmoth that was bleeding more now. She emerged in her red dress, blonde wig, glasses, and high heels a new person. She felt a little conspicuous and exposed but was relieved that no one would recognize her. She held back cough's and tried to ignore the feverish feeling in her body. Adrien emerged in his disguise of a black suit, hat and sunglasses, looking like a real gentleman. He was glad that he had gotten sunglasses since he now had a huge welt on his eye from the fight. He smiled when he caught sight of Marinette. She looked beautiful in her disguise and for a second he was awestruck. Marinette felt her face turn red when she saw Adrien. Even though she couldn't see his eyes, she was still smitten with him. Adrien was the first to speak. "You are looking gorgeous today my lady." He said with a smirk lowering his sunglasses a bit. "Ttt-hank youuu." She stammered with red hot cheeks. "You look cute too!" She said a little to enthusiastically. She covered her mouth in embarrassment. Adrien giggled. "Would you two love birds get a move on!" Plagg said pushing Adrien forward a bit. Tikki flew out from behind Marinette and joined Plagg. Adrien took Marinette's arm in his and they headed towards the desk to buy tickets. When they arrived at the desk the man selling the tickets helped Adrien get a hold of two tickets to New York for a plane that would leave in about an hour. "Could I have your ids for the tickets?" He asked. Adrien pulled out his and showed it to the man. His eyes went wide, "So Adrien, off to New York huh? Must be a business trip and could I have your uhh… What's your name miss?" He asked reaching towards Marinette. She shot a glance at Adrien since the police had posters of her all over, she couldn't tell him who she was. "This is my sister Mary… Mary Agreste." Adrien said with confidence, putting his arm around her. "Hmm… I don't ever remember you having a sister?" The man said confused. "I don't advertise all of my private life you know." Adrien said. "I will need your id Mary." He asked. Panic went through her; she didn't have one. Her parents could text her a picture of hers but then this man would see who she really was and see that they were lying. "I uh… I left it… at home." She said with an innocent smile. The man frowned, "Isn't my id enough to get us on the plane for now?" Adrien asked. The man sighed and looked over the two distinguished looking passengers. "Alright I'll make an exception, just this once and just because your father is one of the most powerful men in the city." He handed Marinette and Adrien their tickets and they waited to board the plane. Marinette laid her head on Adrien's bosom and closed her eyes trying to block out her pain. He held her close to him not wanting to ever let her go. Unbeknownst to them, the man at the desk had called Gabriel Agreste informing him of his son and daughter's arrival at the airport. Gabriel of course cleared up the misunderstanding saying he only had a son and was looking for him. "Which plane did they board?" he asked. "The plane is leaving for New York in about an hour." "I'll be there. Inform airport security and don't let them leave!" Gabriel said hanging up and charging to his car. He raced for the airport determined to capture his runaways.

Adrien calmly waited for the plane gently stroking Marinette's hair, or wig to be exact and she tried to sleep. That was when he noticed something out of the ordinary. A squad of police officers entered the airport along with airport security. This could only mean one thing, they knew they were here! He gently shook Marinette who looked up at him. He gently nudged her, and she saw them. "What do we do what do we do what do we do!" She repeated to herself in a panic. Adrien squinted above his sunglasses and saw the baggage being brought onto the plane. He thought fast and pulled Marinette to the baggage area. "In here" He said as he led her into a large storage container. "Are you sure this is safe?" She asked. He climbed in with her, "It'll have to do for now." He said. They felt themselves being hauled onto the plane and Marinette held tightly to Adrien. Gabriel arrived at the airport a few minutes before the plane was supposed to take off and stomped up to the information counter. The same man who had spoken to him on the phone earlier was there. "So, did you find them?" He asked sternly. The man gave him an uninterested look. "Sir we checked every single passenger boarding that plane and they were not among them." He explained further on what they looked like when he spoke to them and how they were not seen among the passengers. Gabriel was frustrated, "They have to still be here. Find them!" The man was taken back by Gabriel's demanding tone. "Okay, okay airport security and the police are scouring the airport and they will be found." "Hmph!" Gabriel stomped away from the desk and called Nathalie. "They didn't board the plane, but they got tickets." He told her. "Are you sure they didn't lie to you about them being on the plane?" Nathalie questioned. "They checked every single passenger but didn't identify them even though they were in disguises." "We had better get a trip scheduled for New York then, they probably took an earlier plane." "Ready my private jet." Gabriel hung up. He would find those kids and when he did, he would show no mercy.
