(10 Hours Later…)
[Floor 85]
Well, this is a first.
*Cough*
I spit some blood, just after defeating a 20-meter tall Giant.
These Giants are not monsters, but titans who were said to be lowered versions of the gods. I thought that that was just a load of bullsh*ts, but witnessing a single giant destroy my barrier speaks much of their physical strength. Even a Nascent Soul Cultivator will find it hard to destroy my barrier, even less when these giants could destroy my barrier with a single punch.
As you can guess, I was not having a good time.
Two giants appeared, naked as when they were born, but they proudly showed their body. While they were only bare, I know that their skin is more than enough to protect them.
When loads of fireballs failed to even scratch the skin of the previous giant, I immediately knew something was wrong.
Their skin is hard as adamantium, with strength similar to that of demigods, and add the fact that they were able to tank my scythe, then they are all, indeed, very formidable enemies.
But it was said that giants aren't like normal animals; they have intelligence similar to humans. I heard that they built a functioning civilization in the skies, and had remained hidden from the world's prying eyes, opting to live in solitude.
But these giants that I'm currently facing are just mindless drones, only capable of defending themselves and attacking their enemy, which is me.
And the chosen arena this time is the stadium high up in the skies, making it look more like that of the gods.
The proud and tall pillars around us, torches stuck to them, with seats around the middle, and the ceiling being made of glass, made it look divine.
*BAM!*
I dodged a punch from the giant, but the pressure of his fist blasted me to the tall walls, but I was able to control my landing, thankfully, since I am fully able to control wind magic.
I enlarged my scythe, and poured tons of magic into it the moment I was able to control my momentum in the air.
Two elements burst out of Thanatos; water and lightning.
Giants are just giant humans, so the majority of their body must also be made of water. 50 to 70 percent, but that's just my theory.
In the air, I used my wind magic to propel me faster towards the giants, readying my scythe to kill them.
"Hah!" With one, swift slice, the blade reached their necks but, instead of being decapitated, I only made a small dent!
They swayed their arms towards me, but I have already backed off.
It's fortunate that due to their big size, they are quite slow.
I looked at the giant's neck, and saw that I only made a small dent on his jugular.
"Tch, it failed," I said, disappointed that I couldn't kill it.
"Partner, what are you going to do now?" Thanatos asked, having a bit of worry in his voice.
"Don't worry about it," I said, "I have a plan."
Well, it's not a detailed plan. It's simple, actually.
I will use my metal magic to create thousands of metal shards to pierce the giants. But I took that one out when I remembered that there's no metal to use here, only rock. So, I decided to use rock instead.
Beggars can't be choosers, I guess.
So, I flew up to the sky, with my wind magic backing me up.
*ROOOOARR!!*
The giants roared at me, their anger reaching impossible levels.
"Shut up," I said, then I clapped both of my hands, and yelled, "HAH!!"
My mana drained quickly as thousands of rock shards rose from the ground, and the giants had to dodge the shards that were coming from below them.
And, there I am, floating above the lesser gods, and with the sneer of cold command, I muttered, "Die."
The rock shards shot towards the giants, but they didn't just fall down, oh no, I was controlling each and every shard in here.
With their gigantic bodies, the giants found it difficult to dodge them. Most of the shards that hit them didn't even make a single scratch on them, but I was not finished yet. Even though they were destroying the rock shards, each giant rock shard they destroy, 10 would replace it.
With my bottomless mana reserves, I kept going wild.
They were not able to fight back and could only kneel as I strike their knees, eyes, mouth, and their gaping a*sholes.
I know, it was a horrible sight, but their a*sholes were wide and open, so I just had to do it.
And, it was funny.
When they were powerless, bleeding, roaring in pain and anger, I killed them.
I did not show them mercy, for mercy is a rare sight in me.
Mercy can only be given to those who were not my enemies.
I stood on top of their body, proud with a sneer, and boldly kicking their head open. My ego had been boosted as I killed creatures that were similar to demigods, maybe even lesser gods!
But I sighed as their bodies disappeared, replaced with 3 more giants.
"Well, I supposed this is fair," I said, and then did the same strategy.
(Hours Later)
10 Giants laid dead around me, as I was almost drained of my mana reserves. I was tired, exhausted, wounded, and I needed to take a break.
"A day must've passed outside," I said as I laid on the floor, "I believed I could make it to the Rank Battles next week, but with how hard the opponents are getting, now I'm thinking otherwise. I need to be there, but the next opponents are going to be harder than these giants. Who knows? I might just face literal gods down there."
I was a bit scared of advancing to the next floors. There might be demons and gods down there, ready to kill me at any moment once I descend.
"Don't give up hope. Many of my wielders in the past had never given up hope, and they won at the end. Well, some didn't, but the odds of you winning is large… I think. But partner, negativity won't bring you anything other than more negativity," Thanatos said, trying to cheer me up.
I smirked, "Heh, thanks, partner."
"Anytime!"
I stood up, and took out a rejuvenation pill out of my storage ring, then threw it in my mouth, swallowing it whole.
I immediately felt its effects. My mana returned to its original reserves, and my wounds were closing up already.
I smiled, brightly looking forward.
I looked on the top above me, and made a grasping motion with my right hand for no reason.
"I'll do this, no matter how much It takes…"
At this moment, I had the resolve. I took a step forward this day, for a resolve that had no particular meaning.
