Chapter 3

Eclipsia POV:

I frown as my little mate ran out the door, gathering my things and following quickly. I look up and down the hallway, unable to find her in the sea of students. If I am perfectly honest I was surprised by my mate being a girl at first but when she started speaking, I decided I wanted to hear her speak to me. It worried me when the girl ran out of the classroom, didn't my little mate feel the mate bond as well?

I go about my day, going from class to class and hoping that my mate will show up. My wolf whines as I go until lunch time without seeing her once. I growl in frustration as I open the doors to the cafeteria freezing as the sweet scent fills my nose and I look around the cafeteria. I smile as I see the long brown hair of my mate sitting at a table across the room. Grabbing my food and make my way over to the otherwise empty table, ignoring the beckoning calls of my friends as I set my tray down beside Terry.

"Mind if I sit here?" I ask, suddenly nervous.

I mentally frown at myself. Why am I acting like this? It is so unlike me to ask for permission to do anything let alone be nervous.

Terry jumped as if startled by my appearance, looking up and gulping before nodding her head slowly.

"Terry right? I'm Eclipsia."

"H..hi." she stammered, blushing softly as I sit down.

I find herself smiling at how cute she was and I look down at my hands "So I umm.."

"If you don't want to be mates then please say so... Don't drag it out." Terry said softly.

I jerked upright as I look at the girl, her head was looking down at the table and a silent tear slipped down her cheek.

"What? No..I.." I'm interrupted as Toryn tackles me from behind.

"Yo Eclipsia! How's first day back at school?"

"Toryn! I was in the middle of talking to Terry here." I frown in annoyance at my beta and friend.

"It's ok, I have to go to class anyway." Terry said as she stood up and quickly walked away with me staring after her.

"When did you start hanging out with the new kids?"

"Since the new kid is my mate." I grumble as i push my tray away and fold arms across the table and rest my chin on top of them.

"Oh, sorry about that. Why did she leave?"

"She has it in her mind that I'm going to reject her." I mumble.

"Wow, really? So what are you going to do?"

I sigh. "I'm not sure. For one thing she's so shy... I'm worried about how she'll react when she finds out about my wolf. I'm also not sure how she'll react when she finds out how different my mating process is compared to a regular wolf's."

"You won't know until you tell her." He shrugged, stealing one of my fries as I shoot him a glare.

I suddenly sit up straight as sapphire whimpers, something was wrong with my mate.

I jump off the table and race out of the cafeteria and down the corridor, a ferocious growl emitting from my throat as I race to find my mate. If anyone touched her there would be hell to pay.
