“Before we go in, let me ask you, Xiao. Is it really something you feel comfortable facing? You don’t have to face the council alone right now” Kei’s words reached Xiao, the feelings raw enough to stop him in his tracks.
Tires blue-green eyes took in the form of the teen in front of him. There were thousands of emotions on that face which made Xiao feel guilty. Those glazing purple eyes burned his soul and they froze him in his place.
He wanted to speak but found himself unable to respond. His mind was an utter blank at that moment, everything he was was focused on Kei.
“Xiao?” The name of his voice was the first thing he was conscious of. Kei’s hand on his shoulder dropped him out of his daze.
“You alright?” Kei asked, his voice hesitant, even more so than Xiao had ever heard it to be. Somewhere inside, it made Xiao hurt a bit too.
