I woke up very early with the intention of arriving back to Nigeria. A watery sun barely penetrated the thin grey curtains. My shower was a tepid trickle. The bathroom mirror was just good enough to apply my disguise. I propped my prop bag on the wire tray sitting across the bath.
All the better to emphasize the characteristics of a grubby student, the same as my passport. I began applying my disguise, I pulled my hair back into a net cap and pencilled in a new hairline on my forehead. I selected along unkempt wig as part of my disguise. Carefully I manoeuvred the wig into place. Next I glued a scruffy beard in place with a pair of thick rimmed spectacles, much of my face would be obscured. I would look like any other overworked junior doctor. I stuffed a grimy white lab coat, stethoscope and notepad into a rucksack that would complete the character.
