Chapter 23
Once again Bodniev led the way; both he and Jack carried flashlights with which illuminated not only the path ahead but also the walls and ceiling, in anticipation of possible marks of unnatural origin; their footsteps echoed in the tunnel and they refrained from speaking to give preferential attention to sounds coming from inside the mountain. The Siberian doubled his pace and despite his age forced the other two to lavish their efforts to follow him. Finally Jack asked.
“Aman, do you perceive any indication?”
"There is something ahead." The shaman replied but then returned to his silence.
