Chapter 38: Servant of Wrath

The device activates immediately after Neo calls the system and his head and all his limbs get chopped off.

"Aw, you are gonna miss out though! Well, maybe I'll cook you up next as well," says Aayn happily as Neo's head flies off, falls to the ground, and rolls away slowly.

He turns the fork around to eat the portion, "Well, more for me, I guess,"

"Ooh, this one is chewy!" he says, chewing on the meat.

". . . b─ big bo─ omb e─ explosion . . ." Aayn hears a whisper and turns to look at the severed head.

His eyes widen, "No way!"

"Purchase," finalizes Neo's severed head.

A big bomb suddenly appears next to Aayn.

Boom!

Opening his eyes slowly, Neo finds himself on the ground, and his body to be fully regenerated.

He turns his head and looks around, seeing all the rubble and things on fire around him.

"Cha─ Charlotte . . ." he calls, trying to get up but his body feels weak. He slowly stands up, his legs barely able to keep him up, he starts walking step by step.

"Cha─ Charlotte?" he says as he walks, looking around.

Looking to the right, he sees what looks like a severed regenerated head and he recognizes her dark hair. He starts walking towards her with all the strength there is in his body and finally reaches her.

Neo falls to his knees, letting his legs give in. He raises his hand and reaches out toward her. He turns her head and finds her fully reformed face with her eyes closed.

He laughs out of relief that he found her. He picks her head up and holds it close.

"I need to . . . get somewhere safe," he murmurs, looking around the rubble and flames surrounding him, trying to find a way out.

He looks to the right, then straight ahead again, and he jerks back in horror as a figure appears suddenly out of nowhere. His fingers tighten around her head, and he holds it close.

A completely dark humanoid figure that looks pretty terrifying stands still in front of him, holding what looks like a wrench.

"Who─ What are you?" asks Neo.

The figure takes one step forward towards him and Neo's instincts go on full alert, he starts seeing visions ─ hallucinations of extreme kinds of torture, and many other horrifying things that he could never even dream of coming up with ever.

"WHAT IS THIS?! WHY AM I SEEING ALL THIS?!" He screams, losing his mind and freaking out at how horrendous all of them are.

A large creepy smile grows on the figure's face.

"WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS? WHAT DO YOU WANT?!" he continues, holding onto Charlotte's head a bit tightly. He sways on his feet, starting to feel like he will go unconscious. It's too much for his already exhausted body.

"Don't wasteth thy effort," he hears as figures fall down in front of him. The horrific figure backs off a bit at seeing them.

"This isn't something that thee can reasoneth with, it's just something thee square with," explains the Female One.

She turns her head around and looks at Charlotte with pity and sorrow in her eye.

"May thee feeleth nay more pain," she murmurs, pointing the palm of her hand at Charlotte. Flowers with pink petals start to grow and bloom around Neo.

"This is the least I can doth for her," she says.

"Neo, taketh her and get as far away from here as thee can," orders the Male One, "We shall taketh care of this, and things shall get very messy,"

He puts out his right hand and the thorns from his mask start spreading down his arm, and blue thorns begin emerging from his palm, taking shape of a unique shaped sword made out of thorns.

The marks continue to spread down his left arm and the thorns emerge from his left hand, forming a whip.

"Now, Neo," repeats the Male One.

Neo's body starts moving by itself in response to his words.

The terrifying figure raises its wrench and starts smashing the ground furiously, hitting with a big one that sends a shockwave, followed by a loud screech from the creature right after.

Neo takes off running away as fast as he can.

The Male One throws his whip at the creature and binds it.

The creature tries to break loose but to no avail. Enraged, it lets out a loud screech again, looking up at the black void. From its abnormally wide open mouth filled with horrifyingly sharp teeth, darkness starts emerging, eating away . . . light?

The Female One raises her hand and points it at the emerging darkness, and the same pink flowers start blooming in the darkness, but these flowers bloom to give way to pink flames, and the darkness stops spreading.

Neo looks back for a second, it is as if he sees a completely dark tree with its branches that bloom with pink fire flowers on them.

SCREECH!

The figure screams, spazzing out and shaking violently, it stomps on the ground, causing a huge shockwave.

That is the last thing he sees before he is sent flying away from the huge forceful shockwave stronger than any previous one. He looks down and notices that he is sent off a cliff, from the side of a mountain-life terrain. During all this, he holds onto Charlotte's head with whatever strength he has left as they fall.
