(The unknown lands)

In a peaceful lands within the capital city of a kingdom, people went along their daily business, merchants were setting up their ships preparing another day of sales and transactions between other merchants. While foul and dangerous creatures and animals wander the forests and rocky hills in the far regions.

*Knock knock* Someone was knocking against a wooden door.

"Mistress, It's time for you to wake up and begin your duties for the day." A young female maid was standing outside the door. While a quiet young lady was laying in bed, with her mess-up bed hair, her skin was of a lighting brown and her eyes of a dim golden yellow, she could be in her 20s.

*Knock Knock* "Mistress!" The maid knocks on the door once again.

The young lady in bed annoyingly sat herself up, and let out a yawn while stretching out her arms and back.

"Just a minute."

Bright sunlight shines through the large window panels forcing her to cover her eyes a bit.

"Mistress, I'm coming in now."

The door swung wide open as the maid was holding onto a different set of clothing in one hand while pushing in a small metal cart into the room with the other.

"Time for your morning preparations."

She stood there waiting until the young lady got herself out of bed. Once she had done that, the maid grabs ahold of a lid handle and handed over a hot damp steamy towel for her face.

The next thing she needed to do was prepare the young lady for the new set of clothing. Then a bit of simple makeup applied afterward.

"Have we received any news about the ceremonial meeting?"

"Yes we have mistress Diana, Should I fetch the letter after this?"

"Please do, One of the big important things I've been working for my entire life is about to come."

"Ah, Yes, today is the-." The maid kneels down on one leg and grabs a sword in its weapon sheath, bringing it up to Diana. "Day when you're fully recognized as a knight captain correct?"

"And granted the ability to form your very own knight order?'

Diana swiftly grabs a hold of her sword handle, pulling it out with one major swing in the air, then slowly examines the weapon's sharpness from top to bottom.

"Indeed..." She slides her weapon back into its sheath and then secures it onto her waist side.

"Thank you, you may leave now."

"Very well, I'll return with the letter momentarily."

The maid lightly clutches the bed wear and tosses it on top of the metal cart, quickly leaving the room with it.

Diana was now left in her room alone, she was wearing basic clothing, but for the common people of this kingdom, they would consider it expensive. Including the weapon strap to her waist as she grips the weapon handle as she walks out of the room moments later.

A male and a women in their early 40s were both quietly eating breakfast inside a dining room. Several chairs lay empty. Cheese, bread, and other early morning dishes were on the long table.

The man of the house was called Marthis Noriel, and the beautiful woman beside him was Rina Noriel.

"Today the day when our young daughter finally becomes a knight captain." Rina softly puts down her sating utensils and quietly looks toward Marthis.

"It's really has been almost 7 years since we discover her little secret training sessions when we first heard that she wanted to become a knight captain." Then it was Marthis who put down his utensils.

"We were both furious at the time, knowing that she was secretly training herself with a practice sword when she was eight."

"And I thought our young daughter would grow up as beautiful as her mother."

Rina smiles a little at Marthis compliment and then shook her head.

"That's flattering dear, but In my opinion, she is still gorgeous as always, as a Knight or a noblewoman."

"That is true..." Marthis cut another slice of meat and stabs it with a fork, putting it inside his mouth.

A wooden two-sided door let out a quiet eerk, as Diana had open it on the other side, and proceed to walk into the dining room.

"Father, mother." She would bow before them before she sat herself down in a chair to eat her breakfast that was prepared for her.

"How was your sleep?"

"It was fine, mother."

"When is the ceremonial meeting taking place?"

"I will soon know that when one of the maids has given me the letter, father."

"I still couldn't believe that you manage to convince us to allow this."

"It was from my hard work and dedication of course." Diana pops up a huge smile on her face and took a proud posture on her upper body.

"Don't forget about one of the conditions though." Rina remark.

The Noriel household is a noble family in the kingdom, but they were far from the top in the pyramid schemes of nobility. One of the conditions set by her parents that allow Diana to continue training in the way of the swords was to help elevate their family standings to a higher position.

Diana frown upon one of many conditions given by her family, she knew that they didn't do all of that out of spite or disappointment. But they were trying to protect her from the dangers of the world.

"Yes mother, I'll try to bring as much fame and fortune for our family household." She shoves a piece of bread into her mouth.

With the last piece of meat going down his throat, Marthis took a napkin and wipe his mouth area to clean off any food stain.

"I'll be taking my leave now, I have an important discussion with some of the other noblemen."

"Have a safe journey dear."

Marthis planted a quick kiss on the side of Rina's cheek and left the dining room.

"So, how confident are you feeling about this?" Rina's eyes wander back over to Diana.

"Being recognized as a Knight captain is no easy feet."

"You saw my swordsmen ship, Other than my fellow knight captains or the Royal guards, I can say that I'm qualified for this position."

"I see."

She silently took a sip of water from a small porcelain cup, then gently puts it down on its plate.

"Is something the matter, mother?'

"Oh, it's nothing really, It's just that a small part of me wishes you were more lady-like... but I cannot judge your life choices now can I?"

Diana glances down at her sword that she may out on her lap to enjoy eating in a sitting position, then back to her mother.

"I know that I took my interest in the sword, gossip and romantic drama aren't my thing but." She gently reaches over with her free hand and places it on top of her mother's hand, and pops out a small smile.

"That doesn't mean I'm going to abandon who I am, I am a Noriel... and as a daughter of this family I will make both of you proud."

Rina gave Diana a look as they exchange expressions with each other, they burst out into a light laughter.

"Thank you, dear."

The same maid who helps Diana during the morning walked into the room, holding an envelope.

"I have returned with the letter." She places it next to Diana and positions herself near the doorway.

Diana pushes her chair away from the table, and strap her sword on her waist side again. Immediately picks up the envelope right after, she would begin to walk out from the dining room.

"I'll be going now, Goodbye mother." She bows between the door frames and left her mother's eyesight.
