What an experience!

With a stammering voice and a perplexed expression Laila said, "..What...? Designing..?" Noah nodded and said, "Yes, why not? The only reason you took your current job back then was because they scouted you after you wrapped up your last year of college. They really needed your help back then and it was a good way for you to gain some experience in the fashion world. After that you got dragged into the flow and you never really found a chance to leave and do what you went to college for in the first place. Plus, it would make me feel better if you stayed at home for a bit longer. Though the frequency of your episodes of morning sickness has become reduced, the severity hasn't. Your last bad case of morning sickness was just yesterday after all."

As Noah was saying these last few words Laila had already stopped listening. Her focus was on her attending college and having a job. This was probably also the reason they hadn't had any children until now, answering one of her other questions in the process. But Laila wasn't given long to ponder about what she had discovered as she was faced with a question from Noah's side that she had not anticipated nor had an answer for.

With a confused tone Noah asked, "I didn't notice until now, but did you just call me Noah?"

Immediately Laila's eyes widened. In her strive to appear normal, she had slipped up. She had tiptoed around all topics that she though a normal wife would have an answer to and had instead messed up on a small detail. Something she hadn't put any focus on. The way she addressed him!

It was something so small, so imbedded in any normal relationship that it was no longer something that you had to think about but it was definitely something that would be noticed if changed suddenly. And it appeared that her change in the way she addressed Noah had indeed not gone unnoticed by him.

Just hours into her new life, Laila had become a stammering mess for the third time. How could she explain why she called him by his full name when she didn't even know what she called him in this lifetime? When they were younger she would call him 'Noey' but she stopped using that name when they entered middle school. After that she had always either called him something completely unrelated to his name or his full name, like she had done now. What could she have possibly called him after getting together with him.

In the end Laila decided to play it off as a joke and pretended to not know the answer, while not knowing it for real. "Ha. ha. ha. What else was I supposed to call you aside from your name? By my book, calling a guy named Noah, Noah when I try to address him, seems like a good way to go." She added a wink in order to make it a playful joke and added to it further by jokingly asking him, "Don't tell me you changed your name since I last saw you this morning?"

This seemed to have done the trick as Noah burst out laughing as well. He said, "Ha. Ha. Ha. You got me there I suppose." and pinched her cheek gently. "But very well my dear wife. You can call me whatever you please. Be it Noah, hubby or babe. I shall listen to it all!" Laila felt a breath of relief when she heard the sound of his laughter and these words of release.

Once Laila had finished her soup and had asked a few questions to Noah in order to discover more about her current life, it was time for Noah to get to work. He got up from the table and helped Laila up as well. He held her against himself and stared deep into her eyes as she tried to maintain her eye contact. "So, my dear wife, as you have had your fill, I think it is time that I have mine before I go upstairs to start my work."

Though Laila's heart skipped a beat hearing this, she also knew what was coming when she distracted him to have lunch. She knew she had simply bought some time for herself and now there was no stopping the man in front of her. She let out a sheepish laughter as she watched his face approach hers with his eyes looking like he could jump her then and there. Instinctively her face moved backwards as Noah leaned in but he was much taller than she was and the distance she had added with her move, posed no challenge at all for him.

With her heart thumping in her throat, she braced herself and closed her eyes and before she knew it, Noah's lips had landed on hers. She had missed out on the opportunity to kiss Noah back when they were just starting and now she was going to have a kiss from the Noah with many years of experience and boy what an experience it was. His lips were soft and warm and he kissed her so deeply that she was feeling herself getting light in the head. She had been kissed before, plenty of times. But she had never been kissed like this!
