Under a Spell

Laila was deeply touched by Noah's words and asked him, "I have impressed you that much huh? If you don't watch out and pace yourself, you might fall in love so deep that you can't get out anymore." Noah chuckled and proceeded to top his earlier words by a love declaration that no one could outdo. Words so loving that if there had been a shred of doubt in Laila's mind as to whether he was happy with her and truly loved her, that shred would have been blown away with no way to come back.

Noah pulled his face away a bit in order to look Laila in the eyes and said, "There is already no saving me. From the day you were born and we spent our lives together, bit by bit you stole my heart and you put a permanent mark on it the day you said yes to dating me. Ever since then I have been willingly under your spell and I signed myself over to you. I threw away any chance to escape you, along with any chance to break the hold you have on me, a long, long time ago. I haven't regretted that decision for even a single second and I haven't looked back since the day you agreed to be my wife. Even you telling me that you are a different you hasn't changed that. Everyday I wake up with a smile on my face and I thank God for bringing you into my life." Laila listened to Noah's words as she held her breath and her eyes had widened.

"I can't wait to see how much further you can push me, how much more you can make my love for you grow and until when you can continue to amaze me. You are passionate, strong-willed, kind and your talent knows no bounds. So, if you say you have done it once before, I am certain you will be able to do it even better and faster this time around." With a chuckle he added, "You certainly have managed to do that when it came to making me forgive you and fall for this version of you, achieving both things at the same time in just a week. And that was with me being stubborn about it."

Laila couldn't believe it. Each time when she thinks that she has heard it all, that Noah's words can't get any better, any sweeter, he manages to outdo himself. He is the best she has ever had and the best she ever will have. There is no one that can compare to him, which makes his words as true for her as they are to him. She is under a spell she can't break and he is the one that casted it.

Even after a few seconds Laila was at a complete loss of words. With eyes that revealed how touched she was by his loving words, she stared deep into his eyes and when she couldn't find a single word that could express how she felt, she decided to tell him through her actions. As she placed her hand on his face and slowly pulled him down, she began closing her eyes and so did he. Their lips touched and Laila began to convey what she couldn't put in words. All her emotions were flowing through her body and fighting to get out. Under the presence of a thousand stars, a bright shining moon and the warm light of the fireplace, Noah and Laila expressed their love for each other.

When Laila and Noah had finished expressing what needed to be expressed, they continued to lie in each other's arms on the soft rug while using the small blanket to cover their bodies. The plaid was meant to keep a single person warm on the sofa or chair, not to cover two adults stretched out on the floor. But they had to make due since they had given into the moment.

Laila was resting her head on Noah's shoulder while her arm was placed across his chest and her leg was wrapped around his. Noah had one arm wrapped around Laila's waist, pulling her tightly against his body to keep them both hidden under the plaid blanket, while the other was used as a headrest for himself. Both of them had a smile on their face but especially Noah seemed pleased with the turn of events. With a big smile he said, "Well I didn't think that was in the cards for tonight after what I did earlier today. I don't know where it came from but I am certainly not complaining."

With a bit of a frown on her face, intended to hide her embarrassment for giving in to him so quickly after her words from this afternoon, Laila replied, "Me neither but after you said all of that you didn't leave me much of a choice now did you? There was no way for me to come back from those words and my body just acted on its own."

Noah chuckled and playfully touched the tip of her nose with his finger before he pulled out his other arm from underneath his head and held onto Laila even tighter. "Oh such grand lies are being told to hide the truth. Who knows when you will be able to be a bit more honest with yourself and with me."
