~Third POV~
Humans.
Humans are one of the five major races in the world of Seven Deadly Sins.
The humans were created by Chaos after giving birth to the other four races. Harboring contradicting feelings and emotions, though incomplete, humans were the perfect race that came closest to Chaos.
Humans are the most populous race with many kingdoms and other settlements established but are also the weakest and shortest-lived of the five races.
They tend to be prejudiced by the other major races, with the Demons seeing them as worthless and sometimes as food, the Giants looking down on them for their fragility and weakness, the Fairies seeing them as greedy and a hopeless race and the Goddesses often using them for worship and even disposable pawns against the Demons.
The Fairy Clan and Giant Clan are both mostly isolated in their homelands and make little contact with others. The Demon Clan has sealed away 3,000 years ago in the Holy War while the Goddess Clan lost their physical forms to seal away the Demons.
Other less prominent races, such as the Beastmen are scattered across the land but not particularly prominent anywhere due to human persecution.
The void left from the decline of the other major races left much room for humans to spread and propagate, eventually coming to rule most of Britannia's territory in the future.
Humanity is protected by the Holy Knights, the proclaimed guardians of Britannia, trained to harness Magic for protecting the people and defending against threats to their kingdoms.
Humans are generally regarded as the weakest of all races, being by far the most short-lived and fragile.
This fragility, however, can be circumvented by training and some humans can awaken their innate magical powers.
These humans may be able to stand on par with those of other races, though these people are the exceptions to the rule.
Certain humans can also train themselves physically to superhuman levels that are sufficient in matching or even surpassing, albeit rarely, the might of various members of other races are also able to kill lesser demons, although they stand no chance against the likes of the Ten Commandments or the Indura and their spawn.

~Jason POV~
Ahh~
Standing up again as I stretch out my body of rested my body under the tree for the night I began to look around as I see it was morning and was cold as I talked to myself, "Good morning Aiba and Asura yawn… Man sleeping under a tree like that in the cold night was certainly cold. That is to be expected."
While I was stretching my body Aiba reappeared along with Asura who was yawning as if he just woke up as she began to speak, "Good morning sir. It's a pleasure to see you awake again sir."
Asura then stretches his neck as he moves on to the rest of, he body as he responded to me with a tired tone, "Sup Boss. And also, good morning today."
With introductions done with they both vanished as I stared at the distance of the road ahead of me as I proceed to move forward our goal.
…
…
While I was walking towards my destination, I caught something foul with my smell for miles away as I scrunch my face, "Ugh! What the hell smells like something… just… died… Oh for fucks sake!!"
Fuck…
*SWOSH*
*BOOM*
Quickly smelling the familiar scent of death and corpse in the air from miles away I booked it at my top speed as I can tell something went wrong as I used my Nen to hide my presence while reaching Mach speeds.
Took me what seems like seconds to where the smell is as the closer, I got close to the location the more the scent got stronger as I finally made my way to the origin of the smell.
As I took a glance at the place, I can surely feel a chill run down my spine as I witnessed a massacre of this place if that was even the proper term to be used here.
What happened to this village as I walk towards the area as it was completely trashed but not destroyed and the corpses here have unique tells of what happened. I need more info to be certain what happened with that I spoke to Aiba to help, "Aiba conduct a full scan report of the village. Give me everything unique and odd about the corpses as well as anything off with them before death. Even some specifics would be ideal here."
*Beep*
A sound came from my bracelet as Aiba confirmed my answer as I hear her speak to me in a serious tone, "Affirmative sir. Activating scanning protocols and analyzing all components as well as planned scenarios in the sequence of events happening before attack… GO!"
*VROOM*
Just like that, a wide blue screen scan was conducted from Aiba through my bracelet as I began to search for my clues of what happened using the talent of the
Examining a nearby corpse it seems to have some portion of them is missing the large bite marks would indicate as such. But the place seems too random to be a wild beast attack with the bite marks.
The marks themselves are odd almost serpentine in nature of these bites the body of the corpse shows signs of some kind of acidity that was used once bitten. Possibly a high concentration pH of acid or poison perhaps?
Next, I checked the way some of the victims are or more specifically the eyes themselves as I can see that this one is all burned as if something ignited inside to burn?
This is quite odd considering the eye itself should have fluids stopping it or at least showed it shriveled up, but it seems to me it ignited like gas introduced to fire or a firework pop in the eye and vanished soon after.
Interesting something like this shouldn't be normal but if magic is used then I need to open my mind to how abstract the cause of death is?
*Beep*
Then I heard a beeping sound from Aiba as I heard some of the reports as I examine the corpse body as she gave me the details of what happened or something to go by, 'Sir from the data of the scan it seems that the cause of death for some seems to originate from sudden coldness originating from the mouth as the least warmth came. The others seem to be smashed by a large amount of force telling a fight that occurred in some parts of the village it would provide some kind of sign that the invaders won and killed off the rest. Although there were some rare cases of organs misplaced in other wrong bodies?'
Raising my eyebrow at that Aiba gave me the coordinates of where those corpses areas I managed to find them myself to get a better idea of where exactly the events happened.
Finding the area, I can see what Aiba meant by fight I can see some footprints in the dirt and the armor being dented but no bodies to be found?
So it's safe to at least assume some fight did happen and the invaders won ok but from looking at this place the valuables here are still intact so they didn't attack for monetary value but kill only people?
Hmm…
At least I can narrow this down to the Demon Clan has a hand in this since the other races do look down upon humans but none of them cared enough to fight someone from a weaker race.
Only the demons would gain from this would be their souls as they have magic in them to get them stronger by consuming the souls they take and as well as the abilities of their experiences but not magical ones.
Now that was done, I went to the coordinates of the people with mismatched organs to see what Aiba meant and I have to say she was accurate about that.
Some of the corpses seem to have some parts of their bodies mismatched a prime example of one of them is that the hearts of the two are switched with Aiba giving me the details. Seems like something caused the two hearts to switch positions.
As such the sudden case of being switched the two corpses have blood splats from their lips as it may have caused heart failure, heart attack, or even internal bleeding. Blood from the mouth, eyes, and nose would seem to support it by a glance or through examination of the body.
Going around the place the whole village looked deserted as I happen to find a church in the area as I can see that there was more blood around the surroundings of them. Curiosity getting the best of me I checked around the church to find something.
Aiba in that time also notified me of what was happening to the dead bodies as she gave me an estimated time of death while I touched the blood splatters as I still felt little warmth from them as I spoke, "The blood is still liquid for a bit and hasn't completely dried up yet? Then that means this attack happened recently if this evidence is to go by?"
*Beep*
Taking a moment of my time I see that Aiba appeared again in the hologram screen as she showed me a loss of time as she spoke, "Sir. I have finished developing an autopsy report of each of the victims in the village. It seems that the stages of rigor mortis haven't started yet as the bodies have been here for about 10 hours possibly even less if we take into your account of walking then maybe 8 hours or less it began."
I see…
I noticed that the body was cold but not enough yet as the bloodstains on the walls and ground haven't completely dried yet so it's safe to assume that much.
Thinking of the possible demons who could've been involved only two stand out from who was involved as Melascula and Monspeet were involved here judging from the odd abilities used here.
Maybe Derieri too if Monspeet is around she was also bound to be here as well it could provide some explanation to some of the bodies being mangled as Monspeet personality wouldn't be this messy.
Then those bite marks come full circle as well since I know those belong to snakes and only Melascula could be the culprit with her snake form along with the unique ability to burn people's eyes because of her commandment.
And judging from the missing people in armor I can assume they hunted down the Holy Knights in this part of the village to possibly become stronger in the process. The souls of the humans have some magic power in them and are easy prey than the other races for them to collect.
Adding the fact if the demons defeat the Holy Knights and devour their souls as easy gain then it will make more sense for them to come slaughter everyone here as a bonus if they get more power by eating souls in the process.
Scrunching my face at this I began to talk to myself as I began to enter the church seeing it completely safe and clean the echoes matched my voice inside, "Damn the bodies here are without a doubt caused by the Ten Commandants and killing off the people here left a bad taste in my mouth."
Sigh…
Still though if they originally targeted this place for the Holy Knights then there should be something related to magic or something here.
Although looting a deserted village is pretty fucked up but those kinds of morality are pretty much meaningless in traveling different universes. In a world where you have nothing but your wits, you use anything to get the goal if possible.
Good thing I'm an Atheist and my lack of belief in the Gods in this world is literal pieces of shit now then…
Time for your good old time fashion looting and in return, I'll bury them fair right?
