High above, a squad of jetpack soldiers were engaged in a high-speed dogfight with the Revenants. One soldier launched an energy grenade toward a cluster of the creatures, sending them scattering in all directions. A second soldier used a specialized EMP pulse, scrambling the Revenants' energy fields and making them more vulnerable to direct attack. With the Revenants temporarily grounded, the ground-based forces finished the job with a relentless barrage of fire.

The Abyssal Sovereign continued its relentless assault, its monstrous form looming over the battlefield. The creature's psychic wails sent shockwaves through the soldiers' minds, forcing some to drop to their knees as the pressure mounted. It swung its three-barbed tails in sweeping arcs, forcing soldiers to continuously dodge and retreat. Its wings whipped the air, sending soldiers tumbling.
