Day 5
From afar the emperor watched his little brother suffer in silence he has always been like this he chose to suffer alone not letting the world know his pain in fear that he'll only burden others.
But that doesn't mean xiefei would let it go that easily it seems his brother hadn't been taking the medicines he had been sending him ...he knows that Yun is now old enough to take care of himself and that he is no longer the young delicate child he used to be but he's the only brother he has left he can't afford to lose him as well but don't get him wrong he himself had been the cause of the death of many of his siblings but in the palace it's inevitable.
If there's ever another life, he truly wishes for all of them to be born as siblings once again in a normal family.
the price to pay for having royal blood is that you will never have a normal family. No matter how you try to hide or avoid it in the end it will always end in bloodshed. the dragon throne he now sits upon Is not made of gold but blood the blood of generations of their own family How cruel is it the fate of a royal born.
Now back in his chamber the emperor looked down at his sleeping child he didn't wish his son to grow up having the same fate as them but who can tell what the future will hold?
For now, he wants to have a serious talk with his brother. Yun had always been stubborn but he couldn't let this go he can't bother little ying with this because even though he is against it that doesn't mean he doesn't know why his brother refuses to tell ying and so it seems he has to do it himself.
While he was deep in thought, the empress entered...she gently picked up baby Hua who was still asleep and noticing her husband deep in thought, she gently handed the baby into his hands who placed the child on his lap, and Hua though asleep held onto his father's fingers...the empress seeing the sight giggled.
No longer troubled by thoughts Fei looked at his lovely wife, then at their child; he now has a family to protect, and now he can comprehend what Xiao Yang said to him that day. He suddenly ordered the maids to summon the imperial physician and schedule an appointment with prince Xie Yun.
The empress yi almost as if knowing what's going to happen suddenly looked at fei who knowing what the empress was thinking said
"Don't worry about it perhaps he just might listen if I talk to him personally"
Ying yi only nodded and held his hand which he was running through the tiny prince's hair she knew what was coming it's not like it's the first time the brothers have had this 'talk' in the last few years. ying yi turned her gaze back to their child who was now sound asleep in her husband's hand.
Back in his old room sipping some wine was Xie Yun he was lost in thought these days so much has been going through his mind he a had few things that need to be done within a few days and he needs the help of his brother for one as well he's sure his brother will be delighted to help me as always but this one, he doesn't know how to ask him but times running out.
He'll find a way just then a maid announced "Princess Xie ying is entering" it was nonother than little ying now in her formal clothes she quickly bowed down Xie Yun's smile fell ...he quickly helped her up. No matter how many times he explains it she just won't do it he could only sigh she was too much like him ... stubborn.
She has come to inform him about the banquet tonight and to ask if he would be attending
Just as she expected Yun said no. He's too tired to deal with people today and all he wants to do is drink some more wine and rest. Before she left, she informed him about how his majesty had requested an audience from him later tonight.
Just in time thought Xie Yun he too had some things to talk about with his brother and so this was a wonderful opportunity to ask him for help and so Yun nodded.
Later that night Yun decided to visit his brother but before he could leave the emperor had already come to him first, he smiled at him. "I have something important to talk with you about," said the both of them at the same time Xie Fei only laughed.
Xie Fei decided that this is the right time for him to finally have the talk with his brother. He looked and he and Yun gestured him to begin first and so he smiled and started " Yu'er remember when I told you the story of the fox and the emperor?" Suddenly his brother laughed and asked him if this was what he wanted to talk to him about that was so important ... obviously, it was not but it was a good start. He too laughed a bit and continued "Haha so I'm guessing you might have forgotten since it was a long time ago so brother will tell you the story again"
They both sat down and Fei began
There was once a fox who lived near the palace in the forest; she liked watching people and would sit near the edge of the forest, watching the people come and go inside the palace. She was curious and went inside the palace one day to see the beauty, only to be chased away by the guards. She ran and ran until she collided with a hard rock, which laughed and everyone around her kneeled to the ground, hitting their heads, so she looked up to see the 'rock' she had collided with was the newly crowned emperor... As intelligence shone in her dazzling green eyes, he thought such a beautiful creature was worthy of being the royal 'pet,' and the fox was now living in the palace as the emperor's pet. Her life there was everything she could have wished for in a truly ideal life. She never expected the emperor to be such a gentle and compassionate man who adored and cared about her, and she instantly fell in love with the human. Isn't that silly? But tragedy struck the poor lovesick thing when the emperor married an empress and spent more time with his beloved than with his beloved pet; then came the Nobel consort, pure consort, and many more; and one day, without thought, the emperor ordered the little thing to be put to death at the demand of one of his concubines; and she soon realized she had been a fool and a fool to think she was special a fool to give her love to a human who would take in or throw away whatever they wanted without hesitation, and so she ran away as quickly as she could. She ultimately returned home and spent the remainder of her days there living peacefully, having chosen to let go of the past and move on rather than suffering in the name of love.
"It's over."
Yun turned to face his brother, and Fei asked, "Do you understand what the story is trying to say? "Forget about the past, and the past will forget about you." Yun, It's still not too late,
you haven't even been listening nor taking the medicines I send all this for what? It would be a lie to say Yun didn't see it coming as he suddenly stood up trying to be as calm as he could but his eyes were almost red, he told his brother to leave and that he wanted to rest since he wanted to avoid whatever was coming next. When his brother didn't, they got into a long argument about the past and future, which ended with Yun leaving in anger and Fei quickly realized he had gone a little too far and left as well. That night, the brothers went their separate ways.
