Chapter 9

"196, 197, UGHHHHHH, 198, ARGGGHHH, 199, EEUUUUKKKKKKKK, 200!" Holy gods have mercy on my soul. Doing push ups with your mother on your back is not a fun exercise, especially when your only 5 and the mother herself weighs around 150 kilograms, excluding the weight of her leather armour with metal chains patterned inside it.

Father could not do nothing but laugh at the comical sight of a 5'1 child doing pushups with a titan sitting on his back.

"Please mother, I beg you, no more. No ordinary 5-year-old would want this or be able to this. Hell, no adult would want to do this." I was lying on the ground, with mother still sitting on my back, leaving my head to speak.

"You cheeky brat! We all know that you do not fit those criteria what you stated before. What type of 5-year-old is able to wrestle an adult colossus bear bigger than 9 feet tall?" She snapped at her son.

"But didn't you say that you did it when you were 4?!" He snapped back.

"Why are you so gullible, I was lying, you dumb child! I was unable to do that until I was at the age of 8! I worry for your future when it comes to money and money", she'd shake her head.

However, Taiyo brain could only concentrate on one phrase "I was lying, you dumb child." All that hellish training he committed to in the last 3 years, believing he had to uphold her mother's legacy ,or to at least get to similar stature ,was in fact a farce.

"Why did you lie to me? What was the point? Isn't this already good enough?" Something swelled inside his heart, it was something he had not felt in a long time after coming to this world - anger. Energy and rampant emotions filled his head and Taiyo tried to crawl out of her mother's weight but was unable to do so. After doing this for a couple of minutes, he somewhat gave up but felt really agitated.

Father was looking at the whole shenanigan, chuckling to himself with a young baby in his hand, until he saw something that horrified him: his son's eyes had turned scarlet.

---

Taiyo was sitting in front of his father. Father tried to speak but sighed before he started. He was obviously seen agitated and anxious. "Son, I have a very important question. Do you want to see the outside world?"

Taiyo raised a brow and then spoke, "Well duh, I mean who wouldn't? It is nice living with you guys but sometimes the chick got to fly out of the nest one day."

He nodded in response to his son's answer, "Do you remember when you were young, you were told that you would need to complete a ritual of some sort in order to leave and wander the world."

"U-huh." Taiyo nodded, whilst his emotional wellbeing was that of a child, his mind and memory was equal to the strength of an adult. To the unsuspecting grownup, the child would be seen as a genius of academics, but was in fact a fake, who had remembered the stuff he had learnt in his previous life.

"It was a half-truth. The test is indeed given, but only given to those with the scarlet eyes, which you have."

"I see." Taiyo would be seen using his finger to discover new things in his nostrils.

"Are you not angry?"

"No, not really, why?"

"You seemed really frustrated when Amaterasu told you the truth about your regiment."

Taiyo sighed. "It is true that I was really agitated, I mean who wouldn't? After being told for 3 years that you were not good enough, but then the truth was that you were already exceeding, it makes anyone feel bitter."

Father shook his head, "but you do know that your mother did for your benefit."

"Of course, but sometimes, it's just y'know…" Taiyo shrugged his shoulders and stopped talking, as he was unable to refute the statement.

His har was then ruffled by the soft hands of his father, "sometimes I even forget that you are child with the way you speak and act, but with moments like these, I am reassured that you are indeed my son."

"…"

Awkward silence ensued.

Breaking the silence was an awkward cough from Akira, "well why don't you go to the central part of the village and talk with kids your age, eh?"

Hellish groans ruptured from the tiny body of Taiyo, "UGGGGHHHHH, why? All they do is talk about books, play imagination and eating their own boogers."

Father jut awkwardly stared at his son, remembering that Taiyo was just picking his nose a couple of moments ago, "Well, there's no need to be with them, just interact with the other clan members more, okay?"

Taiyo sighed, "fine, I guess." He stood up on the stool he was sitting on and somersaulted off of it, and jogged out of the house, to the inner village of his clan.
