In the distant future, mankind is on the brink of extinction.  Standing atop the rubble of their apocalyptic future, an old man, tired of his centuries-old existence finally managed to find a piece of hope back in the past, before all happened. A young boy, the last shard of light carries within him the last hope of humanity.

He may be the one that could finally break the cycle, he may be the one that could finally overcome this eternal curse, this dreaded organism that he himself and many others before him tried to control but ultimately failed.

As they crossed through the busy crowd of the school halls, then made their way down on the central stairs, Lucien couldn't feel the temporary respite they had finally been rewarded with after their victory yesterday during training.

No, unlike Jack walking next to him, who was in a rather chirpy and chipper mood, he could barely hide the deep frown stretched across his face.

The reason for it was the floating semi-transparent image floating in front of his face, visible only to him. On it, the system's Task interface was currently open, showing him the updates that he ignored during all the commotion at the time.

During the fight, and all the long, and arduous interrogation of the old man Mr. Alex Thorn, Lucien didn't have the time to check it. Later, when Sera came to pick him up, he once again, couldn't get a minute till sleep time, as somehow she got wind of the events and was in a state of frenzy.
