Deric's POV
I didn't know what to expect when I ran into the house, but what I did see made me panic more than I ever had my entire life. Lucy was lying on the floor in a pool of blood. My light grey shirt she had on was now a dark crimson that made my stomach churn. I don't have anything against blood. But I reacted the way I did because it was Lucy covered in her own blood. I rushed to her side and fast and delicately pick her up and rush to the pack hospital. Lucy's breath was shallow on my neck and I could hear the weak flutter of her heart. Hurry! We MUST save her! My wolf screamed in my head. The urgency in his voice made me speed up.
I burst through the hospital door and yell with panic, for help. One of the docters came running toward me in a millisecond, because of the authority in my voice. The docter rushed me into a room with Lucy and started working on her immediately. The nurces ran in and pushed me out of the room. I reluctantly went outside and waited in the waiting room. A half an hour passed and the docter finally came out, but unfortunately with bad news. "Alpha, she has very deep wounds on her abdomen and stretching over her hip. The wound caused internal bleeding and though she will heal on her own. But not fast enough without the chance of survival." Docter Ludwick informed me. I was terrified and didn't have any words because of the lump that was forming in my throat. I just nodded, giving my consent and she rushed off to the surgery room. When I could think again, I linked Liam. "Liam, can you come to the hospital? Lucy was attacked. I need you. I'm freaking out! She needs surgery." It didn't take two seconds before he answered. "I'm on my way." After blocking my mind shut from the pack again I stood up and started pacing the waiting room.

Lucy's POV
I was lying in bed trying to fall asleep when I heard a weird scraping noise and my heartrate picked up. Damn it, I'm starting to panic. Just then the door burst open slamming against the wall and closing behind the intruder again. Leaving me trapped. Rogue! Luce growls in my head and then I really start to panic. Bofore I could even move an inch the rogue lunged at me. I fell forward jumping of the bed, trying to avoid his sharp canines. My body protested in pain from my recent injuries but I looked past it and focused on the rogue. He bared his canines at me before lunging and landing on top of me. I heard footsteps clamouring on the steps and the rogue could hear them to and growled softly at me. Before I could register what he did, a searing burn of agony blazed from my abdomen. I looked down and saw blood oozing from a deep wound. I looked away feeling dizziness clouding my vision. I looked around the room to see the rogue gone and the balcony door open. Before darkness took over I felt warm arms wrap around me, acompanied by tingles spreading over my body, calming me down instantly. And then darkness consumed me.

Deric's POV
I was still pacing the pale white waiting room when Liam burst through the door followed by Crystal. They walked toward me, their expressions full of worry. "Did you hear anything else from Doc?" Liam asked when I stopped pacing. I couldn't answer because of the lump in my throat, so I just shook my head, no. In comfort, Liam put his hand on my shoulder and Crystal put her hand on my arm. Their touch felt cold compared to Lucy's warm body against mine whenever I carried her. "She'll be ok. I'm sure of it." Crystal said trying to comfort me when I didn't relax with their comforting touches. Liam nods and smiles at me with sympathy. I stepped away from them and started pacing again.
After an hour without any news, Liam gave an exasperated sigh and stood up, stepping infront of me. "Just sit down, man. Your pacing is making me dizzy." He stated and I lost my patience and the knowledge of our years of friendship. "You think my pacing is the problem. Well your not the one going insane because you don't know if your mate is alright. Let alone, survive. I don't think you have any clue what I'm feeling right now, fearing that I might lose my mate after just finding her!" I scream at me and the people in the waiting room cringed back from the anger in my voice. He doesn't know how it feels. The pain. No one does. My wolf moans in my head stopping his own pacing in my head. Just when I was about to make another rude retort, the door from the OR opened and the docter walked out. She walked toward me with defiance and self-reassurance. Stopping right infront of me she said three words to me that made my heart skip a beat with relieve. "She is alright." After giving a stuttering sigh of relieve I slumped my shoulders and looked Lillian straight in the eyes and she continued. "We managed to stop all the bleeding, including internal and her body has already started the healing process. She's still unconscious, but you can go inside and see her. To calm yourself and Eric. I can feel him even now." She states and before I head for Lucy's room I turn back around and say, "Thank you, Lillian." She nods and smiles before jokingly answering, "That's what docters are for." Before turning around and heading to her office.

Lucy's POV
My entire body felt numb and in pain at the same time. My mind registered the pain but I couldn't feel it the way I should. Everything was dark and my senses were fuzzy. I started to become more aware of my surroundings and the fuzziness was starting to clear.
Beep, beep, beep.
The sound was coming from my right. The beeping was in a steady rhythm and it sounded like a heart monitor but I wasn't really focusing on the machine. I was more interested in the aggravated voice arguing with someone about touching me. Well I think it's about me. "Deric, I need to check on Lucy." Jip, definitely talking about me. But why isn't Deric allowing them to help me. He's worried and he is in very bad shape. My wolf whispers in my head. She sounds worried about him. Well now I am to. I slowly open my eyes and am greeted with a blinding light and flutter my eyes to adjust them to the white light. I feel something warm in my hand and look down at it. Deric was sitting next to me, hunched over with his eyes closed. There are dark circles under his eyes and his hair is disheveled. He looks awful. Luce says in my mind. He does, but why. I think to myself but Luce always has something to say. He is worried about us. He cares for us. I didn't know what to say, so I just looked back at Deric.
"Please come back to me, Lucy. Please" he begs in a whisper and with a shock, I realize Luce is right and for the first time in eleven years someone cares about me. I couldn't stop the whisper that escaped my lips.
"Deric" he looks up hesitantly, afraid he might have imagined my voice. But when our eyes met, his body visably relaxed. A sad smile spread across his handsome, tired face. Before I could recall what happened exactly, his words rushed out in one breath. "Lucy, I'm so sorry. I didn't know there was more than one rogue, otherwhise I would have never left you alone. I couldn't protect you. And that's the most important thing a mate is supposed to do. I was almost to late. You almost d-died." His voice broke on the last sentence. The sadness in his voice broke my heart and I squeeze his hand, not trusting my voice because of the lump in my throat. I try to sit up when the sadness in his eyes didn't go away. I try to push myself up with my arm but my body screamed in agony, making me groan loudly and fall back on the bed. Deric sprang to his feet and bent down next to my head. Tears fall down my face because of the pain. I close them trying to stop the flow but they flew open when sparks appear on my cheek and warmth spread over my body. I look in the most beautiful brown eyes I've ever seen. There were golden specks surrounding his pupil. "Are you ok? What hurts?" He asks brushing the tears with his fingertips. The worry in his voice and the deep etched lines of worry on his forehead melted my insides. "Yes" I try to reasure him but at the same time a searing pain spread across my stomach and I groan in pain again. Deric's eyes scan over my face. And by the look of concern in his eye and the furrow of his brows my face must have been contorted in pain. "I'll go get Docter Ludwick." He said, still with worry in his eyes. And all over his face. My wolf coments in my head and I hear the door closing.
After a few minutes the door opened and Deric walked inside the room, followed by a beautiful she-wolf. Deric sat beside me again and the woman walked to the other side of the bed. "It's good to see your awake. How are you feeling?" She asked me and I didn't want to answer her because the pain was to much, but... Answer her. She is trying to help us, Lucy. Damn my wolf is stubborn. Well, so am I. So to make Luce happy, I answer her through the pain. "I'm fine" I state with effort to keep my voice even. Unfortunately, I didn't convince neither Deric nor Docter Ludwick. Docter Ludwick looked at me with disbelief and disappointment. She dropped it by saying, "I'm prescribing you with pain killers that will last you up to ten days and if you have any more pain after that, or the wound isn't healed yet, come and see me again. Deric will give you the right amount of pain killers and take care of you. Unless you want to stay here?" Man, docters talk alot. Don't you think Luce? You can say that again. But enough of that. Answer the doc. Damn you are pushy. But I have to answer the docter. So I do, "Deric can take care of me. I don't want to stay here." They both seemed surprized at my answer. And to be honest, so am I.
"Alright, we'll leave you to get ready to leave. I'll send in a nurse to help you." She says while looking at me and with that, she and Deric left closing the door behind them.
.......................................................................
After the nurse came in and disconnected the machine connected to me. Deric took me home. Ahg, I mean the pack house. You said home. You said home. Luce taunted me with a mocking voice that irritates me to death. Alright, alright. Maybe I did. So what, I felt save with him.
We got to the house and went inside to, I'm guessing the living room. But in my opinion it did not look like a normal living room. At All. It looked more like a room where you just relax instead of a formal room to talk to guests. It made me calm. It felt inviting even though it was plain, it was still beautiful. With an amazing view, facing the forest.
Deric was still carrying me because he didn't want me to be in pain. But he laid me down on the creamy white cotten couch. "You should get some sleep. I'm still getting my room cleaned. There is another spare room you could sleep in or you could sleep on the couch. It's your choice." Deric tells me and I noticed he was fiddling with his shirt. And the expression on his face was non other than guilt. I wanted to be surrouded by his scent. You want to be in his room, and so do I. Alright fine, your right. And she was, but his room wasn't clean yet. "I'll stay on the couch for now." I answer him while looking into his eyes. He nodded and said he was going to get something to eat for himself because I wasn't hungry and that he was going to take a shower and change.
So he left the room to take care of himself and within seconds I fell in a peaceful sleep.
